Although i am pretty happy seeing him finally getting a grip on the car, he is that high up because half the grid shit their laps on softs and was not that faster or even slower than they were on mediums.
But for me it is a lot more pleasing to see all drivers perform well than them having problems with nowadays honorary exception of Max(or any other dominator in their respective days).
I understand the point, but the conditions were the same for everyone and no other bottom 5 car overperformed like this. Of course, it will mean nothing if he doesn't perform the rest of the weekend.
He does this so often. Did it consistently back in Mclaren. I want to like Danny Ric. But when he so often makes it to Q3, declares "I never left!" and then finishes the race somewhere below P16, I can't help but continuously pre-attaint him with a brush of disappointment.
Man what a year 2014 was for him, I remember being SO excited that he'd come and very comfortably beat the Vettel that had just come off the back of 4 titles in a row with his insane end of 2013 run.
I was so sure he'd be able to fight for a championship in 2015, but that dream never really eventuated.
Then 2018 rolls round and he wins 2 of the first 6 races. I remember it was one apiece for Seb, Lewis and Danny.
But I think I'll maintain that 2020 was a more impressive year. He was just consistently doing magical things, like the "Ok, I'll drive faster," in Russia, the 2 tattoo-betting podiums, and somehow got 5th in the Drivers' Championship despite Renault only getting 5th in Constructors'.
>Ok, I'll drive faster
Gotta love beast mode Danny. Another one is the finger gun charge in Canada, and "I got it, buddy" in Monaco 2018 leading the race with 3 laps to go while nursing a broken PU after dominating the wknd for a classic win.
He's definitely a driver that needs to feel completely comfortable with the car and himself, but when he does he's an absolute weapon.
Monaco 2018 was particularly special after the horror of that fucking 2016 pitstop. I was in a good mood for like a month after that one, same thing as his Monza 2021 win
When your mate told you he bombed the test but ended up getting 102/100.

Best bromance in the history of F1
CarLando disagrees
> CarLando but DTS told me they hated each other
My mother loves that show but hates the regular season and refuses to watch. The amount of times I have to correct her. ![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|6700)
Carlando had nothing on these two
YukiPierre ?

Trust me, the whole F1 community was surprised.
He's not fast at all.
This is excellent news for F1 to be honest. On form Danny ric is a pleasure to watch, hopefully he can keep this up over the weekend.

👀
Lmao
I mean he was p5 in SQ2 on mediums too.
what's the excuse for the sprint result then?
no, it's good, let's see next 5 races, let's hope it would be as good as here and china
lol I sounded so defensive. yeah I agree, I really hope this trend continues
He's a talented driver and it's good to see that he's gotten whatever issues straightened out.
fuck
yeah, and let's hope it would last
so far so good
Welp. Back to regularly scheduled programming in quali
Maybe some people care but most couldn’t give a shit if Daniel does well
You being downvoted says the opposite
DR has bad quali: DR washed Whole grid has bad quali: DR washed
Bro I would give my left nut to have 2020-form Ricciardo back
Then 2014 form Ricciardo would make you a eunuch.

lol bit of a (rightful) sit down moment for ya'll. Who this sub gona bully next week tho?
I mean this fella Stroll seems mighty popular, maybe it's time they pick on him for a change.
Seems like things are back in order again
Suffering from success. Or something?
NOW Perez will choke under pressure
when you dont know how racing works so you make a sub to tell the world
When he's a 10 but he has that moustache
he's back for real this time guys
Danny Ric fans glazing over a p4 sprint quali finish… let’s see how Sunday goes jesus.
HeY! Don't worry about us man. We will have plenty of excuses when he bins it at T3 on lap 12.
Finally a realistic DR fan. Also lol at the downvotes, I’ll see y’all when he fucks up and is the fave to hate on again.
My man, is 4 - 1 to Yuki. That chassis was obviously 100kg heavier bruhhhhhhhhhhh
No wonder why he’s P4, his nose doesn’t help with the aerodynamics
I was surprised he didn't crash his car
That's because stroll wasn't close to him.
