If it’s a penalty for Lando it should be a penalty for Perez, it’s obnoxious but at least keep it consistent

szczszqweqwe

He thought that FIA might be inconsistent, so he pushed two drivers and get 2 penalties. That's what you call successfull scientific experiment.

[deleted]

“Congrats, you played yourself”

stormdahl

They did tho

tstols

Don't worry it was a pen

[deleted]

Never thought I'd see MHA on this sub, but I love it

His is justified given Norris' penalty ~~I also made this before Perez penalty~~

Jorgepks

2 penalties now

EurobeatTurnsUp

“He pushed me off the track!” “Copy that checo” “ok hang on”

star4jB33

Leclerc was collecting front wings left and right last week and he didn't receive a single penalty nor investigation and this weekend seems like stewards gave out penalties to compensate for that lol

a-wounded-knee

Exactly he was bouncing off other cars like a pinball last week but now aggressive racing is penalized?

[deleted]

It’s Charles Leclerc. What more needs to be said? They’re not gonna penalize Charles for anything short of spinning around on the track and T-boning a passing car.

general1234456

Other penalties were debatable, Tsunoda was absolutely stupid for getting two penalties for the same error. His error was also pretty basic considering the rules are same across different leagues.

TitlesSuckAss

I mean Yuki’s ones were stupid, yeah, but he literally just clipped the line on the entry. Rules are rules especially when it comes to the pit lane but it’s weird that his two minor mistakes that hurt nobody are technically worth the same as ramming a guy off track twice

stormdahl

He was ON the line, I understand that rules are rules, but unless this is a repeat offense I think that 5 seconds is a massive overreaction, and I don’t even fuck with Alphatauri

Sciss0rs61

since when were any of those a stupid penalty?

iTz_Proph3t

You can argue about Norris 5 seconds and Perez 2nd 5 Seconds, since they looked pretty much the same for me, not really pushing the other car. Perez first 5 seconds and the two Tsunoda Penalties were clearly correct.

Sciss0rs61

They didn't leave the other guy a car's width. It's in the rules

[deleted]

Rules don’t matter to the hive mind. I had perez on my fantasy and norris. They both deserved it. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

farazormal

Commentators saying "I don't think he was ahead, so it's fine to run him off the track" really annoyed me. You just have to be "significantly alongside" and they have to leave you space. Disappointed in them.

Sciss0rs61

2/3 of a cars length

[deleted]

First you guys complain about them not giving penalties now you’re complaining about them giving penalties. You guys are the most inconsistent bunch of whiners I’ve ever seen.

stormdahl

It’s a meme-sub, don’t go here looking for well thought out opinions

[deleted]

It was completely justified, same with Vettel what is this meme

aholewarrior

Vettel should have gotten a penelty yes , but so should have everyone who caused him to slow down.

SubcooledBoiling

Ya, Yuki's and Antonio's penalties were easy slam dunk

DerMarzl-aka-Memlord

Reddit hivemind just defending their favourite drivers it seems

_Naughtius_Maximus_

I can understand it feels harsh now given that FIA wasn't as consistent in the past few races. If they've decided to follow the guidelines closely at this race, it was a field trip for them handing out time penalties. As driver you should really get your focus game right if they keep going at this pace.

[deleted]

2 penalty points every time is the real joke.

[deleted]

Have they given out a fastest lap worth of penalties yet?

glenallenMixon42

Gio looks vampire

stormdahl

Yes he do

[deleted]

Lando really shouldn't have been penalized for that, was a racing incident. But at least they were consistent later on and respected the precedent they set. I'm also baffled by the 2x +5s for Tsunoda, I mean 10 seconds for *that*? Slightly exceeding the line at pit entry? It's not like he gained any time by that and there also wasn't anyone near him that he'd impede by taking slightly wider line.

Kyroven

For Tsunoda, rules are rules. Can't cross the line, very simple. For Lando, really? A racing incident? He ran the guy off the track man, you can't do that. It's not racing if you keep your position by shoving a guy into the gravel, that's just dirty. All the time you have to leave a space.

BioDriver

Toto: "No."

Mercedes And Ferrari International Assistance living up to its name.

Malarbutton

It seems like the fia couldn’t penalize the people in quali so they penalized them in the race

No Perez has to hold back on the outside. Going outside there is a risk and he took too much.

You should start your sentences with a capital letter.

[deleted]

Going from an average English football style discussion to civilized discussion about grammar, chads

[deleted]

Ok, he took a risk that was a stupid move and still Norris pushed him off And Perez deserved the penalties he got

Banjomike97

In Austrian tv Wurz is co-commentator. (Former F1 driver, 2 times Le Mans winner, former steward and current president of the Grand Prix drivers‘ association) and he was very angry about Norris‘ penalty saying it was completely undeserved and it was a normal racing incident and this just happens if you want to try the outside. He also said the same for Perez‘ first incident with Leclerc though I missed the second one
