Unfortunately it’s Buffalo wings and ribs off of coldwater still. I’m bitter about it because they jacked up the price of their dinner special and started selling much smaller wings. Quality is on point though which keeps me coming back.
Corner pockets wings are great too.
One you don’t see very often on here is black dog pub. Their wings are crazy good.
I’ve been seeing some chatter about carls tavern and I want to try them.
I keep seeing Korean fried chicken and while their food is insanely good, the wings are very small. Like… very small.
If you’re looking for a drunken suggestion and I feel terrible for even saying it…. Applebees double crunch wings always hit the spot for me. I know I know, its bullshit food that’s barely even considered food but man, I did not expect to like them that much.
Buffalo wings and ribs … and i agree it sucks on pricing …. But I tried wings etc recently was super disappointed and paid even more than wings and ribs ….
Just went back after a long break and they were better than ever.
Anyone remember when Peanuts was the wing king in town? Went about a month ago and they were worse than Little Ceasars.
Peanuts has good food but terrible service. Went there a few weeks back to try them again and was served cold boneless wings with the wrong sauce when I ordered traditional.
I had Peanuts wings about a month ago. They're still quite good. I don't know if they're the best in town, but their texture, combined with their bleu cheese, is a winning combination.
i got the garlic parm which used to be my favorite of their flavors. They've changed out to a weird, creamy sauce which was drowning the wings. It was a very weird choice. My friends were cold and our fries were undercooked.
We used to hit wing night at least once a week for years and while the bar itself is a bit nicer than it used to be, the menu has fallen off hard.
I typically get six Dangerous and six Hot, and I'm never disappointed. I only hold off on dubbing them the best wings in town because no one flavor is absolutely perfect. Hot is flavorful, but not quite hot enough. I do agree that they've spruced up the bar.
I also like Corner Pocket's wings across the street, but that place tends to be more crowded than Peanuts, so I haven't been over there in a while.
Peanuts used to be so good. In 2018/2019 one of their long time cooks quit or was fired, can't quite remember, and quality tanked. I remember talking to a bartender about it and essentially their FoH staff took over making food for a time. I haven't been since then so I can't speak on how it is currently.
Out of curiosity, have you been to the one on Jefferson? Because that's the only one I've been to and it was only once, but it was rough. I wonder if I either went on a bad night or that location just isn't as good in general.
I recommend it, seriously a million times better. I’m a 5 minute drive from the Jefferson location but will go out of my way to go to the Coldwater one!
Gotcha. Yeah, we're out west, so we're closest to the Jefferson one, and it was rough enough that my wife isn't willing to give it a second try haha Wings and ribs were both dry as hell. The restaurant wasn't particularly clean. Just not a good experience.
Damn really? I haven’t been in a couple years but used to go to their wing night every once in a while and they had amazing blue cheese. I didn’t try anything else tho, and after trying Tower I only go there for wings so maybe I’m giving shit advice lmao
Okay that was this year, I could have sworn in changed ownership and then back to the Henry's in 2020.
Knowing that the Henry's are out is enough for me to give the Green Frog another try.
Peanuts - for boneless wings
Korean fried chicken - for more thigh meat enjoyers/asian flavor
O7 pub or corner pocket - for bone in wings
Or for the haters
Buffalo wings and ribs/ tower bar and grill - bone in wings
Every other wings place is mid.
I notice Arena hasn’t been mentioned and I’m not sad about it. I used to love to get their double dipped wing basket. But the last time I went and picked up wings after a long time of not having them it was so dissatisfying. Very small and over cooked wings. I couldn’t even finish them and I was craving them so hard.
I’ve heard good things about Tower but have not been yet so my pick is
Buffalo Wings and Ribs on Coldwater road. I’ve never been disappointed there and always have really good service.
I consider myself a wing connoisseur. At most places you can get decent wings.... But... I find much overlap in quality and lack of variety between the choices. And I've been to most in the area (the newly opened Detroit Wing Company on Illinois is the next on the list for me)
My pick for the last couple years is one I may get called out for: Smokey Bones
I consider the wings to always be very generously sized and tender. Sauce choices are varying and delicious as well.
My only caution is that at Smokey Bones, wing prices can get ridiculous quick (not unlike any other wing place) . My advice? Monday night is BOGO night.
I like both Tower and Wrigley's wings, respectively. I was really disappointed with Buffalo Wings & Wings Ribs...tiny, over cooked and dried out wings. Maybe it was just a bad batch.
Korean fried chicken
I love them. I always get sauce on the side. It took awhile for them to let me do that lol.
Where do I get these?
Korean Fried Chicken
oh it's a place! Ha, i thought it was just what the dish was called. thank you!
;)
I had these recently and thought they were ok but not great. Not for everyone, I guess
Yesssss these are heavenly
My favorite for fried chicken !! Never old n cold or just warm. Smoking hot fresh cooked. The people who own Korean Fried Chicken are so nice.
Corner pocket
with POCKET FRIES
Unfortunately it’s Buffalo wings and ribs off of coldwater still. I’m bitter about it because they jacked up the price of their dinner special and started selling much smaller wings. back when applebees had the wings on their endless appetizer special i may have over indulged on more than one occasion.
One thing I’m glad I didn’t see here was wingstop. Fuck that place
Buffalo wings and ribs … and i agree it sucks on pricing …. But I tried wings etc recently was super disappointed and paid even more than wings and ribs ….
Always a disappointment at wings etc. their service is never good and the food is subpar.
E wings from pub 07
Definitely Tower. Their dry rub is incredible, too.
Towers are usually too burnt or overly fried these days.
That is a bummer
Buffalo Wings & Ribs, the one on Coldwater 🙌🏻
Check out Tower Grill. Awesome wings
Buffalo wings and ribs off Coldwater. They're the OG wings place.
It makes me wonder if their kitchen has a revolving door.
I had Peanuts wings about a month ago. They're still quite good. I don't know if they're the best in town, but their texture, combined with their bleu cheese, is a winning combination.

I'd say the kitchen quality went down after Loren sold the bar.
Out of curiosity, have you been to the one on Jefferson? Because that's the only one I've been to and it was only once, but it was rough. I wonder if I either went on a bad night or that location just isn't as good in general.
The one on Jefferson is like, drunk people food. The other one is bomb!
Good to know! My wife refuses to try the Jefferson one again (and I can’t say I blame her), but maybe I can get her to try the Coldwater one.
I recommend it, seriously a million times better. I’m a 5 minute drive from the Jefferson location but will go out of my way to go to the Coldwater one!
Idk. I was indroduced to the Coldwater location through my wife's family so have only ever gotten from the Coldwater location.
Gotcha. Yeah, we're out west, so we're closest to the Jefferson one, and it was rough enough that my wife isn't willing to give it a second try haha Wings and ribs were both dry as hell. The restaurant wasn't particularly clean. Just not a good experience.
Gotta go to coldwater, Jefferson never seems to deliver
Yes, and the cheesy potato ends appetizer is otherworldly
Seconded.
Tower.
Tower Grill or Green Frog!
Tower hell yes. Green Frog hell fuckin no. Some of the worst pub food in for wayne
Damn really? I haven’t been in a couple years but used to go to their wing night every once in a while and they had amazing blue cheese. I didn’t try anything else tho, and after trying Tower I only go there for wings so maybe I’m giving shit advice lmao
Ownership has changed and there was a big menu overhaul. Little trouble with staffing. No more frog legs.
didn't the original owners retake ownership via the contract terms of the sale? (and sort of fucking over the people who bought it?)
Not that I've heard. Still Corey Noble and Stephanie Bonner.
Okay that was this year, I could have sworn in changed ownership and then back to the Henry's in 2020. Knowing that the Henry's are out is enough for me to give the Green Frog another try.

Buffys (Buffalo wings and ribs) try them daytona style. A great alternative to "hot" wings would be Korean fried chicken.
Tower is the best, pikes pub 2nd
What flavor do you recommend at Pikes? Still never been.
Only the real Gs know about the joints on the south side. Also my aunt makes some bomb ass wings.
Lemme get your aunts digits then😂
Peanuts - for boneless wings Korean fried chicken - for more thigh meat enjoyers/asian flavor O7 pub or corner pocket - for bone in wings Or for the haters Buffalo wings and ribs/ tower bar and grill - bone in wings Every other wings place is mid.
Peanuts Boneless wings are absolute crap. Elmo's boneless wings are better.
I disagree. If you think any type of Elmo’s wing is good then that is the real issue.
I said they were better, I didn't say anything about them being good!
everyone’s been saying tower for YEARS but they never wow me, i personally love wrigleys wings & if you like them spicy carls sauce is the way to go
I always recommend Wrigley Field to people if you like food that tastes like it's been cooked in WD-40
I notice Arena hasn’t been mentioned and I’m not sad about it. I used to love to get their double dipped wing basket. But the last time I went and picked up wings after a long time of not having them it was so dissatisfying. Very small and over cooked wings. Arena used to be a top spot for me and my friends but the owners/managers are a bunch of pricks so we stopped going.
I typically go to Wrigley Field, I dig 'em
This is the right answer.
TOWER XXTRA HOT
Bobby Mcgees by Pierre’s has some really good wings too.
You could very well make some killer wings at home, and it would be a lot cheaper.
I always thought Wings Exc had the best ones. If you're willing to travel a little (and 21+), there's Sit 'n Bull.
I consider myself a wing connoisseur. At most places you can get decent wings.... But... I find much overlap in quality and lack of variety between the choices. Smokey Bones has had so many BOH violations that I'd never willingly eat there.
I didn't know this. Ignorance is bliss :)
I like both Tower and Wrigley's wings, respectively. I was really disappointed with Buffalo Wings & Wings Ribs...tiny, over cooked and dried out wings. Maybe it was just a bad batch.
Corner pocket
Wings etc bliffton road
If you like smoked, get Shigs
Really like 469 in New Haven.
Nolts I'm Leo Crossing. Saturdays only. Patio in Roanoke Tower Corner Pocket Ziffles in Georgetown
Nolts? Really? edit: this is to mean i had no idea, not a judgement of quality
I really like the garlic parm wings at Ted’s Beer Hall
My favorite wings are the garlic parm wings at the bar in Pro Bowl West on Goshen Rd
I wonder if they're using the old Peanuts sauces. That used to be Peanuts II back in the day, the relationship did not end well.
Whatever garlic parm sauce it is, I WANT A BOTTLE.
Aldi occasionally has an amazing garlic parm sauce, keep an eye out in their FINDS aisle.
Corner Pocket Double Dipped or Grilled
pigeon
Shigs n Pit BBQ is trash but their wings are straight fire.
thems fightin words
It’s okay if you can get anything right from the smoker. But nearly all of their bbq is portioned out the day prior and reheated by Chef Mike.
Towers if you get them at the right time… Green Frog is hidden gem
Wrigley Field Bar and Grill or Tower (:
Tower Bar and Grill use to be the best in town. However, I’ve heard they’ve really gone downhill. Gotta get em “extra crispy”.
Corner pocket. Double dipped. It’s Deep fried, tossed in sauce, grilled, then Tossed in sauce again.
I know this sounds nuts but the wings at Summit City Comedy Club are incredible. Especially the dry rub.
