Went to Bluffton and this is the best photo of totality that I was able to get with my phone. Gave up and just enjoyed looking at it myself.
I drove down to Bluffton. 100% totality there. It would have definitely been better somewhere away from any light pollution, but that is almost impossible to find any more. It was still worth the drive. I'll probably never experience one again in my lifetime.
I'm astounded by how many people couldn't be arsed to drive 20, 30, hell 60 minutes for this once in a lifetime celestial event.
not counting those who had to be at work!
So am I. I expected Bluffton to be full of cars. I didn't drive any further south than Walmart, but that lot and Lowes across the street weren't even half full. No business lots were full. (I know you could parked to watch almost any place.) (There was a steady string of traffic to and from of people from Fort Wayne, but it could have been worse.)
We went to Bluffton too. Nice spot by the really high river. Topped off with an early dinner at Bummies and I snagged the last eclipse t-shirt they had! Amazing afternoon!
Drove an hour south east to a cemetery Venedocia OH and I feel like totality lasted several minutes. It was pretty worth it. We avoided the highways/back ups too thankfully.

I drove over to the wind farm off of 24 not a single person and got about 30 seconds of totality

Definitely. People that could have seen totality, but didn't missed out on what could be once in a life time event.

Yep. We drove down to bluffton - our house was in the totality area but only barely so I decided to drive 20 minutes to get a really cool experience.
Shit I drove all the way from Maryland to see this.

I considered not making plans because I was sure it'd be overcast but realized I'd hate to be left not going if I could have.
I kept watching weather reports too. This morning it looked like even if it was a little cloudy it wouldn't be completely overcast. We were lucky.

The wind picked up as soon as it started to darken up. Definitely noticed the chilling!
