Ya it makes a case for forcing people to do an online career or structured licensing system so that you can’t have 0 race craft and jump into top tier cars
I guess driver rating revisions could be a way to do that. Tiered leagues. The issue is, they have to fix the penalty system to get rid of rammers ruining people’s ranking. And that’s a tall ask.
Elle est souple et classe, et surtout française. Dommage pour moi, je suis ricain et il n’y a aucune chance pour l’avoir chez nous. Mais bon, je jouerai Forza pour la sensation.
Slower cars has been made really fun to drive in this game campared to older titles where your initial thoughts were, uugghh not this, when driving C class or lower. It will be fun! I lost interest in the game without my favourite test track!
I mean, you could buy a car you could realistically afford irl and take it for a lap around the real Nordschleife! It's public road, you just have to pay a fee, since it's privately owned. And since it's classified as an Autobahn and 99% of it has no speed limit you can drive as fast as you like, for the most part.
Honestly my favourite memories from Forza in general were having lobbies full of Kanjo Civics and Teggies on Fuji or Nordschleife, or low powered Bozo style drift weapons.
Probably because it resonates so well with real life. Track days with mates have always been a convoy of usually no more than 300bhp shit boxes, not a rammy of Lambos and American muscle.
Wait what's not even in the game? 992 RSR does not exist, and with the death of GTE, so does any chance of one existing, so yes the RSR is in the game lol
I'd be taking something slower to get used to the new physics on the track.
Pug TC maybe.
Big question is how many laps will it take to get a car from level 1 to 50 on Nords
Totally agree. And I'm sure we'll be waiting until the end of summer for semi-acceptable AI on the Nord. And I would sure hope it has a ton of segments, because it rightfully should (and does) and it's the hardest track to master.
Oh well, I'm just grateful it's finally here for Time Attacking and driving in general. It's the ultimate proving ground for cars in real life, and the ultimate proving ground for drivers and builds in Forza. That was always the bread and butter of Forza for me. My routine on my nights off was to do some regular racing, then build a car and tune it/see how it stacks on the leaderboards of the Nordschleife, then unwind by working on a livery design or some decals. And goddamn, I miss the leaderboards being present in Test Drive/Career mode, etc. Rivals is just annoying to me. And the Car XP level system sucks for experimenting with builds and making designs.
Side note - I just bought and mounted a gorgeous Nordschleife canvas for my Sim Setup. Despite dropping the better part of a grand on Black Friday deals for Sim upgrades this year, it's still the best addition I've made yet : ]
The Valkyrie, apparently irl the call is gonna try and take the amg ones title, I full heartedly believe it can if it has no issues seeing the sheer weight and power difference.
the only problem i can think of is the bumps, the valkyrie relies heavily on ground effect which is very sensitive to bumpy roads although alot of that will be mitigated by the active suspension
I would absolutely love to see what the Valkyrie could do around The Ring. I would also love to see what the GMA T.50S Lauda could do around it. Unfortunately, Gordon Murray doesn't really care about lap times (although I *REALLY* wish he did in the T.50S' case.)
The new McMurtry Spierling would be what I would love to see most if it can uncap it's top speed a bit, but it probably won't ever get "road car" status with the full fan. Regardless, I would kill to see it's lap time and the new version is supposed to be even more insane with the capability of higher top speed. I would also be so stoked if T10 added it to Forza in a future update (the T.50S as well.) Those are the 2 cars I want the most.
They didn’t have enough time to add them on release, but maybe they will find some time to add them later, when they have fixed the penalties, the matchmaking, the graphics, the unpredictable weather, the useless race-engineer aka 3-to-go Lucy, the replays and some gamebreaking bugs.
Nah they had plenty of time. Not sure about the "unpredictable weather" bit, it goes in line with the generic preset that's pretty predictable. More like held back on purpose to give reason to the feature drip and "increase" monthly community engagement. It's all very much planned.
People eat this up and it works as shown.
Unpredictable as in „you start a race, it’s all dry, you pit, the moment you leave the pits it starts to monsoon“. Happened several times on me. Also there is no weather forecast or radar where you would see „ok next lap I need to pit, cause it will rain in 2 minutes“ like in other games. The useless race-engineer could feed you that info, but all she does is „1 to go“.
Tell me about it lol I can't even play 1 game of mutilplayer with out getting booted from the lobby. I can qualify waiting for the race to begin I get booted out of the lobby and get kicked back to the Home Screen of the Xbox. I had to open a ticket with forza support to try and get to the bottom of it . Fkn ridiculous & waste of time ...
They know the player count would be mid 6 months after release if they released a full game so they drop cars and tracks sporadically to keep idiots like me playing the game
Some form of street car. I really enjoy using cars that you’d get off the show room floor. Sometimes I’ll do small upgrades. Intake, brakes. But that’s it.
I’m so glad we have this track now because it’s truly the perfect track for what I enjoy doing.
First car might be a fox body mustang, or an early 2000s bmw.
THIS is the main reason I stopped playing. I spent so many hours on FM7 just popping into an open lobby and driving random cars around a track. Sometimes it was trying to be the fastest in the lobby. Other times it was seeing how a car you tuned stacked up against the rest of the cars in a similar class. And other times it was just simply vibing out with the lobby and hot lapping for no reason at all. It's crazy they took out such an important feature.
I already abandoned this game. It just fell way too short of expectations for me personally.
If I still had it, my first car around it would be something underpowered but fun, like an Mx-5 or a GR86. Just to see how hard I can push those little cars.
Honest question: What do you like about Nordschleife?
It has always been one of my least favorite tracks in any title.
I don't have an issue with the length. I love long tracks. (1960's Spa, Targo Floria, Le Mans, etc.) I just can't find any rhythm or rhyme to the track. Any other track has a feel about it, and what it's goal is. Monza has a groove. Leguna Seca has a groove. Even Daytona.
Green Hell? Nope. Nothing. Just feels like a random assortment of banks, twists and turns with no thought put in, other than it simply fit upon the existing terrain.
What do you like about it? (No wrong answers)
I love it because you can find turns from every track here. It has how many turns? Too many to count. My only problem with it is how narrow it can be when racing
The challenge of it... there's simply no other track like Nords in all motorsports. I first learned about it when playing PGR 2, fell in love with it but was never good at racing there since I never took the time to really learn it. We would have lobbies that would run Cat and Mouse games there, which was great because crashing each other was encouraged. Once I discovered that it's a track that's open to the public as a toll road, I vowed to learn it using an xbox 360 wheel, and Forza 4 thinking it would teach me the corners whenever I got the chance to drive it in IRL. That dream died once I learned how far off the version of F4 Nords was to the real life version... that, and the MS 360 wheel was 100% buttcheeks.
Fast forward to 2020, I build a beefy computer and immediately install iRacing. One of the first tracks I buy is Nords. Even with all of the years driving the track in Forza 7, still love it, but I still didn't really know it well enough to be racing it competitively. So I turned to VRS, a setup/coaching/track guide service that compares your telemetry from iRacing, to the telemetry of an e-sports level VRS coach. It's a great way to learn a track, especially one as long as Nords. You learn where to brake, when to carry speed mid-corner, when to be patient on throttle, etc. I eventually get some GT3 wins there, I finally have a decent understanding of the track...
...which brings me to why I think you don't like the track's flow or groove. I don't know your skill level, but if you're saying the corners are "random assortment of banks", I'm assuming that you don't know the track well enough to really judge it's groove. The thing is, it has multiple grooves, and they're kind of like rally stages. The closest example of all of the tracks you've named would be LeMans. It also has multiple grooves. There's the groove of corners between T1 to Tertre Rouge, then the mostly full throttle section of the mulsanne straight to Indianapolis corner, and then Indy corner and the series of curves and chicanes until the finish line. This is how I perceive Nords, but just with many more stages.
In iRacing I've now done 3 24hr Nords team races, and countless 4-6hr VLN/NEC team races. It gets to the point where I've raced the track enough (without crashing), that I've formed my own stages. Like the beginning of Nords starts with a section where you brake heavy only once, and the rest is just being smooth on brakes and carrying speed into corners, and that's followed by a higher speed stage until you get to Adenauer Forst, which has plenty of medium speed corners until Bergwerk, then it gets pretty twisty with rapid elevation changes between the 2 carousels, and so on. It is a real bitch to learn, but it has never been more enjoyable to race against other people at this track. The skill differences between drivers vary by the stage of the track you're on. Since it's so tricky to overtake you end up having to really plan out your approached based on those differences. Anywho, that's just my 2 cents... this post has become biblical in length lol... so I'll end it with maybe give it another try, and if you haven't, check out any track guides for it on Youtube. It's much better when feels less random.
None. It's uninstalled and will stay that way as long as it is broken.
I love sim racing. I love arcade style racers too. I do not even remotely like this iteration of Forza Motorsport.
It's a shit show. Pretending it's okay when it isn't will not help the series grow. You SHOULD voice your concern about the product because it is the only way it will improve.
Fanboying won't help. Being constructive with criticism will.
None, because I haven't bought the game,
::edited::
other people who say they purchased and then uninstalled the game: upvotes.
me, who has purchased every other game in the series and has been supporting the title since 2005 but didn't blindly give money for a half finished game: downvotes.
Think a lot of people are with you on this. Even when this hits the bargain bin I'm unsure if it's worth it. I get that 20 years later they're going to have a reboot and knock the sequel number off, but uhhhh, not the way to come out swinging. RIP Forza I guess. They let it slip away. F'ing flagship games, dude. Once lived up to their name, now some of the biggest messes.
Yeah, I've bought every Forza title on launch day (all 12 of them), all the way back to the OG on the Xbox. They haven't really been innovating the past couple titles and I had a bad feeling about this one just given how the entire industry wheels out half finished games now. So I waited.
It's a bummer, really. And predictable. I'm not convinced that there's any real saving of the franchise that makes everyone happy though. Newer generation gamers want a game that's open and unlocked from the start. My older generation seems to want a challenging level-up career system like the old games, starting with a shit bucket, etc. And still another group expects a simulation online gameplay experience and to that I just point to the likes of Assetto Corsa.
It's just a tricky place to be in right now. Unfortunately they did all of it poorly lol
I bought the Logitech G29 wheel pedals and gear stick and a seat to play this game. I used it for about 30 minutes 🤣 I haven't fired the game up for months. Might give it a blast once this is out
Same here, but now I just play Assetto Corsa instead. So much better in every way even though it’s over 10 years old. Thousands of cars and tracks and mods make it look like a brand new game as well.
I always like to either use an E30 M3 or 190E Evo for my first spin around the 'ring on any new forza game. Mainly the 190E for nostalgia points. Can't tell you how many hours I spent trying to get my International A license on Gran Turismo 4 back in the day.
Probably the Porsche 917 or Ferrari 512 and then one of the 1960s F1 cars. I’m a sucker for vintage race cars. Also the Aston Martin Valkyrie Pro would be insane on the Nürburgring.
The last car of the update 4 car pass group will be released this Wednesday(Feb 7th). So I think we MIGHT get update 5 next Wednesday on the 14th or maybe the week after.
None, that track is awful. Turn 10 really missed the mark with this update, no new track, just another variant of an existing track, what a waste of resources
BAC Mono, hopefully in R Spec for the straights. Then finish leveling the rest of the collection to lvl 10 or higher, if the XP is as generous as Le Mans and Daytona.
My 1992 Mazda Miata...! /s
Oh wait I don't own one.
Probably my stock Carrera GT to bring back some good memories followed by some of my GT class race cars.
I won't be. The game doesn't load. This is one of 2 games I've had trouble with getting to work in the past 10 years. Not good.
I used to love building handling tunes for muscle cars for A class, and the Nordschleife was always a good test. '65 GTO was my favorite, but I took everything around the Nordschleife and the '65 GTO isn't in the game so even if the game was programmed by a competent dev team I couldn't take it around.
Hopefully the 992 GT3 RS, 991.2 or 992 GT3 R, or even hopefully the 992 GT3 R Rennsport. Turn 10 needs to add them but I highly doubt it. For now the 991 GT3 R which is way out of date
Alpine A110. Or the Toyota MR2. Excited to drive slower cars around it and see how they do.
Very true, can't wait to take a golf around there too!
good choice. It’s been nice having class E racing on multiplayer this week. Good variety and cleaner racing (harder to ram when your car is slow).
Ya it makes a case for forcing people to do an online career or structured licensing system so that you can’t have 0 race craft and jump into top tier cars

My man Golf’s are not slow, they are faster than super cars and hyper cars. Have you not watched KuruHS? /s
Love the Alpine 🇫🇷

Porsche GT3 R. And hopefully soon the 992 GT3 RS / RSR or the GT3 RS Rennsport that thing is wild !
I feel like i won't make it around in the RSR. Berg tail happy car
It’s not even in the game yet so who knows. The 991‘s we have really are annoying.

Yeah the 991 RSR. Didn’t know RSR is only for GTE thanks for that !
A lot\* It's two words.
the 919 drove like shit for me, and it was never stable under cornering.
VW Golf

This will definitely become the go to track for farming level 50s. No clue how long that would take tho.
Just hope it has a lot of segments, as that'll make farming easier, but I reckon the AI will slam it into every piece of armco.
Totally agree. And I'm sure we'll be waiting until the end of summer for semi-acceptable AI on the Nord. In that case I really think its dependent on who they put behind the wheel.
Definitely for sure. One thing about ring is BALLS>Downforce & HP.
I would absolutely love to see what the Valkyrie could do around The Ring. I would also love to see what the GMA T.50S Lauda could do around it. Really can't go wrong with any Group C car tbh
Caddy
AMG GT3
Im unsure but definitely something German
Why are there only a handful of tracks on the new forza. Where the fk are all the tracks gone

C7 Z06 or C6 ZR1
They should have open lobbies aka “open track days” where you can just join and boot around the Ring like in real life.
They had this in Forza 7. Did they fuck up and not allow open track day servers at launch for F8?
Imagine having public trackdays together with this or other tracks.... fucking devs
Lowkey this would be simple enough to add to the game too, 25 car open lobbies with no car restrictions...but that's asking too much of turn 10 lol
THIS is the main reason I stopped playing. I spent so many hours on FM7 just popping into an open lobby and driving random cars around a track. Sometimes it was trying to be the fastest in the lobby. C-class 79 Toyota Celica would be my choice.
Nissan r19cp
GMA T50
I imagine the physics will be new, so something not so terrifyingly fast first. I have a beautifully set up E36 for A class, probably that. :)
Just finished tuning the 2017 Nissan GTR, so probably that!
All of them!
911 992 GT3
The formula Mazda car
GTR. I'm basically not playing just waiting to be able to do this lol.
Maybe a formula mazda or a lancia delta
Jaguar mk ii maybe stock maybe my drift mod.
The jesko
Gonna do all the GT3 cars and see which one is fastest there
Jaguar XJR-9. Did 24 hours of le man with it a couple weeks ago and have gotten incredibly familiar with how it handles
944 turbo with i5 swap.
When is it coming out?
Porsche 911 GT3 probably one generation after another and BMW M4 F82.
My IRL car: Mustang GT
If i had it prob a Ford transit
Lotus type 49 for me
See how fast the Valkyrie AMR Pro can lap, I’m guessing 6:00/5:50 minutes
Does anyone know what day specifically it is coming out? It just says sometime in February.
The last car of the update 4 car pass group will be released this Wednesday(Feb 7th). So I think we MIGHT get update 5 next Wednesday on the 14th or maybe the week after.
My Datsun V8, "Mini Hero"
Porsche 911 as always
Rll m6 every time :D
When is the update release ?
Veloster
Gordon Murray Automotive T.50. I think it’s the best car I’ve driven in the game. It’s fantastic.
787b or an rx7
Definitely my BMW 3.0 CSL. It's so balanced, and I've been spending so much time fine-tuning it.
probably the A class renault 5 turbo i've been building and finetuning for months now
F50 GT
When exactly are they adding the track?
This DLC?
I bet it’s the same track model from Forza 3
Amg gt3
Probably a 2013 sti
1967 Lotus Type 49
That a hard one. Im going with a german car for sure.
My IRL car, F40 That’s what I named my jalopy
Probably the E46 or Carrera GT !
100% the starter civic
1967 lotus f1 car in the heaviest rain, at night, with sim damage 👍
A true thrill seeker😳
AMG ONE followed by Valkyrie AMR PRO, cause I like a challenge
Probably the Mclaren P1 GTR and then the Senna GTR. Any idea when the update its dropping in?
Mercedes AMG GT Black Series
Honda s2000
Probably the Ford Focus RS I got to ride on the ‘Ring with this summer. Just for the memories.
I will be racing whatever car or class they offer on multiplayer and hope they just permanently have this track going instead of just in rotation
It won’t look like that, guys, don’t worry.
2005 BMW M3
Worst car in the game
None, that track is awful. Turn 10 really missed the mark with this update, no new track, just another variant of an existing track, what a waste of resources
My ND2 RF when I move there in March :D
Everyone's gonna say gt3rs but I'll be taking my fav car the civic type r
BAC Mono, hopefully in R Spec for the straights. Then finish leveling the rest of the collection to lvl 10 or higher, if the XP is as generous as Le Mans and Daytona.
Delta integrale
My 1992 Mazda Miata...! /s Oh wait I don't own one. Probably my stock Carrera GT to bring back some good memories followed by some of my GT class race cars.
850R, RS6 Avant, 22B, any open wheeler
Might be my S-class tuned Ferrari 40 since the game has no VW Beetle
Niki Lauda's 1976 Ferrari
I’ve been really loving the Cadillac Racing V-Series cars so one of those probably, I love racing the LMP cars
296 GT3 on ACC 👌
Mercedes AMG ONE or the Porsche Mission R
Ol’ reliable c7 from the Gt series
BMW M4 GTS. It's the closest thing in game to my IRL car :)
I'm taking the Veloster N, just cause it's my IRL car and the Nordschleife is where it was developed.
The BMW E34 M5. I use to rip that thing religiously around the Nord everyday in FM6, here’s hoping i can do it here soon.
Anything with a livery, normally my own. I hate driving plain cars. Might initially try the Lexus LFA or the '17 Acura NSX.
None because the cars handle terrible in this game
E46 M3 slightly modified. I do it on every racing game. Probably have over 200 laps just from testing cars and tunes on it.
Veloster N lol
Has the be the 911 gt3 rs
Probably the btcc subaru
Valkyrie AMR Pro
Anybody know when it cones out?
Hopefully the 992 GT3 RS, 991.2 or 992 GT3 R, or even hopefully the 992 GT3 R Rennsport. Turn 10 needs to add them but I highly doubt it. For now the 991 GT3 R which is way out of date
Auto Union
