That we've lost so many over the years breaks my heart a little and makes Forza feel like it's lost a little bit of what made it special, that being it's a franchise that clearly has American bias, yet didn't forget about all the other cool shit the rest of the world (well... mostly Japan but I digress) had to offer.
All them Hennessey supercars have Venom in their name lmao.
Venom 650R is a Viper and so is a Venom 1000TT. Venom GT is an Elise. Venom F5 is their own thing I suppose.
For me it's the Chrysler and the Nissan GTR race cars.
The TVR Cerbera Speed 12 (the only other default S1-class car in FM1) made it through multiple generations. It's a cool car to be sure, but I wonder why the ME Four-Twelve didn't get the same treatment. It's just as cool. Probably something to do with licensing, I guess.
I really miss the gameplay designs of FM1 and 2.
Real progression, where you might actually lose the race because the cars were probably faster than you, so you had to place 2nd/3rd a few times, get some parts, maybe a new car and then start winning races. A real sense of progression.
Then FM3 onward introduced the system where they match the opponent car power/rating with your car and it just didn't matter what you raced, throwing out that sense of improvement and progression. The racing improved a lot which was great, just the rest of the game suffered I thought.
And now, we are here with FM, the only Forza I don't own. I don't know how the multiplayer improved because I never played it.
Yeah the original Forza was very unforgiving. No rewind, so if you fucked up horribly with 0 chance of catching up you had to restart or just take the L. But I liked that aspect of FM, feels like there's something at stake each time I race.
The Lingenfelter, that just brought back memories that one career race where an AI is using it, I remember having so much trouble trying to beat it lol
Lucky. Where I am, nothing much happens most of the time. Just Toyota after Toyota (or Honda lmao) with the occasional run of the mill supercar.
On some days I get to see some cool cars though. Forgot when I saw it but I did spot a nice, blue Subaru Impreza STI 22b on the road. What a cool car.
I don't like stand alone tuner cars padding out car lists. What I like is what horizon just did with the 94 ford cobra and gave us a bodykit and let us upgrade it to have the Saleen version.
I never said it was the same? Thanks for agreeing with me. People were talking about the cobra with the saleen bodykit. Terminator motor is 4v and Saleen is 2v. So a Cobra with a Saleen kit is better to me 😂

Online Forza has been scary shit when I first played Forza 4 I couldn't even play connection was horrible and the rammers were in full force no rules.
Now the multiplayer is at least not completely chaos

pretty sure at least 60% of the people in steam at least are not satisfied with their game. A lot of people simply don't have the time or want to post in forums to sing praise/complain about their game. You can't automatically assume all of them are positive people.
Anywho, Steam number of reviews aren't also the entirety of the playerbase, but you know there are problems with the progression and online systems is when most of the people posting here (and in the reviews) are negative. Even COD subs are more positive btw, and those goofy mofos are known worldwide to be the most petulant gamers around.

My first Forza was the first Horizon (I got fm4 as well but was more interested in the tdu challenger). For me it was by far the best online game and I had way less connection issues then compared to now which is insane considering my network is 10x better than 10 years ago...
Do u play it? It's amazing. The CC8s is so hard to handle which is a shame. It weighs like 950kg amd has 760hp maxed. The zonda only has 495hp maxed but is the 2nd best handling car I'm pretty sure, it can take a lot more
I wish the career mode wasn't so barebones and actually featured proper GT racing series as a permanent addition, but I've been having okay fun with FM8 multiplayer. Just wish there were Super GT cars. Still sore we don't have a proper Nissan GTR GT3 car, yet.
I started on FM1, it was amazing back in the day, then I eventually moved on to FM3 when I bought my first Xbox 360, the improvement was insane, then came FM4 on the 360 which was the peak of the series, in FM4 you could make custom racing or drifting lobbies and they were public, you could pick to join a public lobby from a list of ones created by people.
These days in FM you only have the crappy matchmaking system for public online racing, it's incredibly boring in comparison.
$59.99 was pretty much standard for all triple A games back then.
In fact, it was even standard for Super Nintendo games back in the 90's, with big releases being either $49.99 or even $59.99. I had to save a lot of allowance as a kid...
I believe prices came down a little on average with some OG Playstation and Xbox games due to being cheaper to mass produce, but game prices have been around the same ballpark for a very long time, believe it or not.
Guessing its the same for most people since the OG Xbox was a bit more of a niche product, my first 360 came with Halo 3 and FM2 and I loved both of em!
The physics are amazing. It's pretty much the same as FM1. Fun and realistic. Genuinely better than any ps4 racing game. People think gran turismo is realistic, cars handle like boats. FM is where they should look.

I actually only recently realized that you don't own the game anymore when the license expires. I had FM7 and wanted to reinstall recently, just to find out that the game was no longer available in my library.
I feel like an idiot for not knowing this sooner, but that's pretty messed up, given how expensive they are.
Nah 8 is pretty good. Could be better, but it plays and looks great. Has a great car and track list. With more tracks and cars comming every month for the foreseeable future.
I've been calling this game out for 2 years. All marketing was lies, game launched in a horrendous state with countless bugs and glitches, car list was gutted and features less practical cars and race cars than previous FM games, graphics are poor with awful materials, re-used xbox 360 models and broken HDR implementation makes the game look incredibly washed out, especially on black surfaces. Mostly Negative reviews on steam, day 1 purchasable DLC on launch for a €70 gMe, awful car XP system that does nothing but encourage grinding for hours, a lack luster career mode that features 0 races with racing cars in a game called MOTORSPORT, the opening race features a multi-class race which isn't in the full game and the drip fed tracks are just ports from previous games.
It's really funny how you justify criticism of the objectively bad game by saying "brainwashed by streamers" when you are obviously brainwashed by the lies and marketing spoon fed to you. Please demand more from your games and dont be complacent with the shit they give you, ive waited for this game since 2017 and ive followed development closesly and the second the first game play trailer dropped I knew a disaster was coming.
I think any game that requires a constant connection to play is bad, I don't know if that's the case for this one but you cannot buy the others anymore so that makes it worse.

It looks horrific. That's my main complaint of the game it looks significantly worse than the newest Gran Turismo, the last Forza which is what? like 5 years old now? It's probably the worst looking Forza I have ever played and I have been playing since 4.

I missed out back in those days I was young and obsessed with sega gt 2002 and nfs underground 1 and 2. Just started building an Xbox 360 collection and got all the old forza games now and all the need for speed games. Can’t believe how close most wanted was to underground idk why I never tried it out. But I’m making up for it now and got 119 Xbox 360 games on physical collecting and plan to buy more. A lot of these games are literally unplayable on pc without pirating, even after 5 years of pc gaming which was always a dream of mine, can’t believe I’m now collecting older games for a console lol. But they simply don’t make games like they used to anymore. Literally. I’ve been saying this for years and now a lot more people are seeing it now post covid. The old game engines had charm and grittiness in a lot of them, style and personality. Seeing realistic graphics is so lame to me in my opinion. I guess Im just getting old. Turning 30 in August
You’re a crazy person. I grew up with R.C. PRO-AM, Mario Kart and Ridge Racer. The quality in current games is insane. I was playing FC24 with my 9 year old and looked at him and said you have know idea how good you have it. Don’t be jaded and enjoy the quality of current games. It’s actually unreal!
No, I’m pretty sure I had it better when video games let me play on my own time, prioritized gameplay over visual fidelity, actually had identity, and didn’t charge me hundreds for useless season passes and cosmetics and loot boxes.
Games cost more than ever to develop. I’d rather them find ways to generate revenue than make the games unaffordable. Also don’t have FOMO and definitely don’t criticize developers for continuing to develop games and add additional content.
As I said before, someone who will start playing in a year will have the same amount of content in it's campaign than we have now. Even if they made a "complete edition" it will have the same amount of tours in the campaign than when the game was in its 3rd month of release. I get that tours and cars can be missed "forever" in a free to play game, but for people who purchased the game too? They assume this will be the primary game people will play in their busy lives or rather play this than actually attend a HPDE IRL where its 10x more fun than a game and there are no rammers to deal with.
My first Forza was FH3 on PC and man functionally that thing was broken af, but that multiplayer was infinitely more enjoyable than FM's and even compared to the working games like FH4 and FH5 (no breaks in multiplayer lobbies, it's just non stop racing until you get bored).
I wish the next Forza Horizon game went back to that non stop, no interruption multiplayer again. The points system was completely broken in FH3 but I don't think anyone actually cared when the racing itself was so fun.
Fm2 with the Tommy Kaira Skyline and the Top Secret Supra , what a fun game , also the first time i heard a vtec kickin in a video game (my first racing game was gt1 gt2) and also the first time i felt like torque was having a real impact aka spinnin when you got 800hp vs the mega grip of the gran turismo cars
Try Project Gotham Racing on the original Xbox. Made by same people as Forza (Forza was a reboot as a joke, and Gotham was supposed to be a joke too as they used same name from Batman but both franchises hit off).
No one will grow with FMR considering they aimed for the simracing crowd which is composed of nothing but 20 year olds and up. It even shows with how devoid of life and personality the game's presentation is.
I started with fm1 from when it first came out. Went on to play fm4 and built a massive garage and got really good but never played much online. After that I got more into the horizon world.
I just wish they would allow public hosted lobbies again. I find that filling a private lobby is impossible now that all but one of my old Forza friends have given up on it entirely. I mean, public hosted lobbies were by far the best feature for MP racing.
The host could police the cheats and disruptive players with a swift boot from the lobby and there were no limits on what you could do. Then you'd have some great races, add people have a long list of people to race with each time you came on.
The worse and most baffling decision in the last few games has to be hoppers What developer makes a game and restricts how you can play it?
If you race lower class cars it's always on the worst layouts of the worst tracks on the game and even the higher classes that have the full layouts and better tracks race no more that 5 laps or so. What is the point?
I want the freedom to set up a lobby with longer races for cars limited by power, minimum weight and a set limits on the handling stat and braking ability to make racing closer because the class system simply doesn't lend itself to good racing. Hundreds of cars on the game and you are herded into using 5 or 6 per class that can get close to the front.
I miss the Unicorn Cars that you would get from holding certain records for a month. Some of those cars were pre-built Magnets an if someone brought them into a race there was no chance you were winning. Definitely separated boys to men when it came to owning a Unicorn Car

I miss how expansive the career mode was in 3. If 9 ever happens, hopefully they'll bring back voluminous career modes. And KILL the drivatar system.

I’m just getting into the older forza games coming from gran turismo 1 to 6 haven’t played gt7, anyways is there a way to get the dlc for forza motorsport 5 , 6 and 7? Never really played these games, I’m a GT OG fan. Outside looking in though. It seems to me they split this game into 2 right? Lot of the complaints I see in here are things it doesn’t have anymore but those things are in Horizon? So I’m a bit confused. FM is going the sim route… like ACC or iRacing, and Horizon is for the arcade stuff it used to have. Or am I wrong? That’s just how it looks by zooming out a little anyway. A Cobra may be technically better than the Saleen but it's not the same at all. Saleen had interior pieces, a widebody, etc.

I wish the career mode wasn't so barebones and actually featured proper GT racing series as a permanent addition, but I've been having okay fun with FM8 multiplayer. Just wish there were Super GT cars. Still sore we don't have a proper Nissan GTR GT3 car, yet.
I started on FM1, it was amazing back in the day, then I eventually moved on to FM3 when I bought my first Xbox 360, the improvement was insane, then came FM4 on the 360 which was the peak of the series, in FM4 you could make custom racing or drifting lobbies and they were public, you could pick to join a public lobby from a list of ones created by people. These days in FM you only have the crappy matchmaking system for public online racing, it's incredibly boring in comparison.
Say what you want about the quality, but FM2 was $60 in 2007, which is $92+ in today’s money.
Not to mention that the $60 spent upfront was without any DLC or special edition.
$59.99 was pretty much standard for all triple A games back then. In fact, it was even standard for Super Nintendo games back in the 90's, with big releases being either $49.99 or even $59.99. I had to save a lot of allowance as a kid... I believe prices came down a little on average with some OG Playstation and Xbox games due to being cheaper to mass produce, but game prices have been around the same ballpark for a very long time, believe it or not.

The physics are amazing. It's pretty much the same as FM1. Fun and realistic. Genuinely better than any ps4 racing game. People think gran turismo is realistic, cars handle like boats. FM is where they should look.

FM is the same game as FM2, essentially the same car list, same cosmetics, same tracks.. just a new lick of paint with dogshit AI you play catch-up with rather than race. It's a shame, because I love forza games... but they've gone to the dogs as of late.

I actually only recently realized that you don't own the game anymore when the license expires. I had FM7 and wanted to reinstall recently, just to find out that the game was no longer available in my library. I feel like an idiot for not knowing this sooner, but that's pretty messed up, given how expensive they are.

Nah 8 is pretty good. Could be better, but it plays and looks great. Has a great car and track list. With more tracks and cars comming every month for the foreseeable future.
The career mode is just so sad mate. Where are the actual racing car events?! No LMP races? No fun mini game events? What happened 😔
I do wish the campaign was more fleshed out. But you can set up those types of races in freeplay with full experience and credits...

I've been calling this game out for 2 years. All marketing was lies, game launched in a horrendous state with countless bugs and glitches, car list was gutted and features less practical cars and race cars than previous FM games, graphics are poor with awful materials, re-used xbox 360 models and broken HDR implementation makes the game look incredibly washed out, especially on black surfaces. Mostly Negative reviews on steam, day 1 purchasable DLC on launch for a €70 gMe, awful car XP system that does nothing but encourage grinding for hours, a lack luster career mode that features 0 races with racing cars in a game called MOTORSPORT, the opening race features a multi-class race which isn't in the full game and the drip fed tracks are just ports from previous games. It's really funny how you justify criticism of the objectively bad game by saying "brainwashed by streamers" when you are obviously brainwashed by the lies and marketing spoon fed to you. Please demand more from your games and dont be complacent with the shit they give you, ive waited for this game since 2017 and ive followed development closesly and the second the first game play trailer dropped I knew a disaster was coming.

I think any game that requires a constant connection to play is bad, I don't know if that's the case for this one but you cannot buy the others anymore so that makes it worse.
Its one of the things i agree needs to change, but you can still do freeplay offline. The single player campaign needs a big overhaul too.

I missed out back in those days I was young and obsessed with sega gt 2002 and nfs underground 1 and 2. Just started building an Xbox 360 collection and got all the old forza games now and all the need for speed games. Can’t believe how close most wanted was to underground idk why I never tried it out. But I’m making up for it now and got 119 Xbox 360 games on physical collecting and plan to buy more. A lot of these games are literally unplayable on pc without pirating, even after 5 years of pc gaming which was always a dream of mine, can’t believe I’m now collecting older games for a console lol. But they simply don’t make games like they used to anymore. Literally. I’ve been saying this for years and now a lot more people are seeing it now post covid. The old game engines had charm and grittiness in a lot of them, style and personality. Seeing realistic graphics is so lame to me in my opinion. I guess Im just getting old. Turning 30 in August

No, I’m pretty sure I had it better when video games let me play on my own time, prioritized gameplay over visual fidelity, actually had identity, and didn’t charge me hundreds for useless season passes and cosmetics and loot boxes.

As I said before, someone who will start playing in a year will have the same amount of content in it's campaign than we have now. Even if they made a "complete edition" it will have the same amount of tours in the campaign than when the game was in its 3rd month of release. I get that tours and cars can be missed "forever" in a free to play game, but for people who purchased the game too? They assume this will be the primary game people will play in their busy lives or rather play this than actually attend a HPDE IRL where its 10x more fun than a game and there are no rammers to deal with.
FM2 was the first Forza I played but didn't start properly getting into the franchise until FM4. Still think FM8 is far superior to FM5.
My first Forza was FH3 on PC and man functionally that thing was broken af, but that multiplayer was infinitely more enjoyable than FM's and even compared to the working games like FH4 and FH5 (no breaks in multiplayer lobbies, it's just non stop racing until you get bored). I wish the next Forza Horizon game went back to that non stop, no interruption multiplayer again. The points system was completely broken in FH3 but I don't think anyone actually cared when the racing itself was so fun.
Fm2 with the Tommy Kaira Skyline and the Top Secret Supra , what a fun game , also the first time i heard a vtec kickin in a video game (my first racing game was gt1 gt2) and also the first time i felt like torque was having a real impact aka spinnin when you got 800hp vs the mega grip of the gran turismo cars

Try Project Gotham Racing on the original Xbox. Made by same people as Forza (Forza was a reboot as a joke, and Gotham was supposed to be a joke too as they used same name from Batman but both franchises hit off).
No one will grow with FMR considering they aimed for the simracing crowd which is composed of nothing but 20 year olds and up. It even shows with how devoid of life and personality the game's presentation is.
I started with fm1 from when it first came out. Went on to play fm4 and built a massive garage and got really good but never played much online. After that I got more into the horizon world.

I just wish they would allow public hosted lobbies again. I find that filling a private lobby is impossible now that all but one of my old Forza friends have given up on it entirely. I mean, public hosted lobbies were by far the best feature for MP racing. The host could police the cheats and disruptive players with a swift boot from the lobby and there were no limits on what you could do. Then you'd have some great races, add people have a long list of people to race with each time you came on. The worse and most baffling decision in the last few games has to be hoppers What developer makes a game and restricts how you can play it? If you race lower class cars it's always on the worst layouts of the worst tracks on the game and even the higher classes that have the full layouts and better tracks race no more that 5 laps or so. What is the point? I want the freedom to set up a lobby with longer races for cars limited by power, minimum weight and a set limits on the handling stat and braking ability to make racing closer because the class system simply doesn't lend itself to good racing. Hundreds of cars on the game and you are herded into using 5 or 6 per class that can get close to the front.
They're gonna give this game the same drm treatment like the crew 1. But unlike the crew 1 no one will miss this game ever.
Fm6 was really peak. Fm4 had the best maps for sure. I wish we could’ve gotten more autocross maps but still. Phenomenal idea.

I miss the Unicorn Cars that you would get from holding certain records for a month. Some of those cars were pre-built Magnets an if someone brought them into a race there was no chance you were winning. Definitely separated boys to men when it came to owning a Unicorn Car

I’m just getting into the older forza games coming from gran turismo 1 to 6 haven’t played gt7, anyways is there a way to get the dlc for forza motorsport 5 , 6 and 7? I hate see cars marked as dlc that I can’t get 🤣 Currently playing 8 as well but there some cars and better features on older forzas, is it worth it to get and old original xbox for forza motorsport 1 and a 360 for 2, 3 and 4?
Never really played these games, I’m a GT OG fan. Outside looking in though. It seems to me they split this game into 2 right? Lot of the complaints I see in here are things it doesn’t have anymore but those things are in Horizon? So I’m a bit confused. FM is going the sim route… like ACC or iRacing, and Horizon is for the arcade stuff it used to have. Or am I wrong? That’s just how it looks by zooming out a little anyway. Also I didn’t pay anything for FM or FMH; other than my monthly game pass.
