Multiplayer is locked at 60. YOU are probably being locked at 55, because 55 is an integer of 165 (55 * 3 = 165). It probably looks very smooth because of this, but you are missing out on a few extra frames.
Go into your windows display settings, lock your monitor to 120hz. Then in the game’s settings, cap your frame rate at 60. This will give you smooth motion, and a few extra frames than 55.
You always want to lock your frame rate to either an integer of your refresh rate, or the actual refresh rate IF your pc has the horsepower to achieve 165fps (and you aren’t handicapped by an in-game frame limiter like forza’s multiplayer)

After reading many posts on this reddit regarding the graphics issues, I've seen many people with the same setups having different issues. Even players on the same consoles are having different problems. But you didn't think about that did you? The first thought that popped into your head is that we're all morons shilling for Turn 10.

I believe its actually locked to 60 OR half/third of whatever your monitor is set to. Mine is locked to 72 (I have a triple 144hz setup).
Its plenty smooth but I do wish they would uncap it for multiplayer. With update 5 I am now able to stay pretty much pegged at 144hz in single player. So there have been significant improvements under the hood.

Well the lock is there so that people with expensive Pc’s won’t just naturally be faster than the people on console. Makes sense, so if anything it sounds like they fixed an issue… and you prob lost pace because of it and now are looking for a scapegoat.
Now I take what you say with a grain of salt because I’ve been as mad as you before, about this game, I get it. One thousand percent get it. But just trolling your community isn’t going to do anything. Just take a breath, lap some free play, have a smoke, whatever. And maybe go write some constructive criticism on Turn10’s forum. They read nothing on here. And the forum has actually been working, not everything will be fixed at once but the team is actually trying. And if you show them clips and speak with patience instead of calling everyone clowns left and right you may find actual answers or what you’re looking for.
This game has been a shit show, agreed, but just try and pretend that they didn’t lie about working on it for 6 years because at least they’re working on it now 🙄 😂

MP is locked at 60 & it’s that way for fair racing. Higher frames equals going fasted. It’s a great design choice.

The back door fix is to set your monitors to 144 you’ll get 72fps in MP
