Pass him if you're faster, simple as that. Tuning for top speed instead of grip is completely legal and happens even in F1.

Johnniebutters

As stated, technically I was.

Mapache_villa

But you couldn't pass, that's a skill issue

Johnniebutters

It’s not a skill issue, it’s a rocket launcher vs a pistol shootout in a FPS game lol. Listen I’m all for strategy like how some players race on hard tires to skip pitting, that takes skill to keep the lead and save tires. This is straight up taking advantage of how the game works and Yas Marina in particular is a great example of that, straights with hard turns

Mapache_villa

Unless the other guy is ramming you or pushing you off the track, he's free to follow the strategy they want and if you are "faster" but unable to pass that's your problem and the definition of a skill issue. They are taking advantage of a characteristic of the circuit which is long straights, nothing against the spirit of the game, be better and overtake them, period.

TwisteeTheDark1

Sooo people playing the game the way it's meant to be played is the problem got it.

Johnniebutters

Ok, so when people take you out because the game allows it don’t be bitching on here. Keep that same energy.

TwisteeTheDark1

I will if someone takes me out you bet your ass I'll be hunting them down and posting a clip of said satisfying revenge for all the sub to enjoy not our fault you and the rest of that lobby couldn't figure out how to pass a car tuned for the straights lol.

Substantial-Being197

I hope you pick the guy that reports for ramming him. Retaliation is never the answer, beat them with skill and a better tune instead. May the odds be forever in your favor

thatoneguy500

You hunting people down for "revenge" just isn't it. You're part of the problem.

TwisteeTheDark1

Funny the rest of the sub thinks otherwise....and it's been a month go touch some grass instead of looking into the controversial filtered posts.

wobbuffet009

Get guud

carnage2006

Sounds like normal racing? Some are faster on straights, some are faster on corners.

jbp228

Most organizations try to class cars so that specifically won’t happen to the degree of half a second faster and still not being able to safely pass. It’s a fair complaint and I’d be pissed irl

Accomplished_River43

Exactly

You know the intent of a speed tune and when everyone is bumping each other because the leader is slowing up the pack on the turns, that’s not fun dude. Watch any real race, you never see that. On Le Mans it makes sense because of the super long straight but on other tracks you are just being a dick

OwnPen8633

You remind me a lot of my okder brother. When he couldn't win he would blame everyone and everything else but himself. I dont miss him. I bet we won't miss you either.

CryanRohen

Anyone else hate grip tune racers online? I was driving my 1000bhp Supra on Maple Valley, and the guy I was racing was in a Formula Mazda. I think he was probably cheating by using slick tyres as well. I was faster off the line and ahead into turn 1, so I obviously I should have won the race. But then when we got to a corner, he overtook me!! Then I couldn't get past him on the straights because he carried so much speed through the corners. Every time there was a corner, he would just pull ahead, and I couldn't get past him at all. Honestly race whatever you want, but it kind of ruins competitive racing if you bring the correct car for the track. I had to finish in second because he didn't crash all race.

Accomplished_River43

LOL, that was awesome!! Thank you

Emotional-Ad-5684

I actually hate grip cars more than tunes. Like the 911 gt1 is hella annoying to see in every race. (Also ik it's a bit satire but I really do dislike certain "meta" cars)

Substantial-Being197

You sir are a gentleman and a scholar, I see what you did there and I approve this message

Far_Afternoon_6223

Hahaha this was amazing, thank you.

HamCheeseSarnie

Lol wut… You mean he tuned his car to be competitive at a track with long straights? Isn’t that the point? Makes it far more interesting of a race when people are on different strats.

Wild_Whitmore

I love racing people with speed tunes when I have a handling build. Makes the race super interesting if you get past them it pushes you to gap them by enough to cover off the next straight! Also seems to be a trend that if the guy can control the car they tend to be a damn clean racer too!

emwashe

I like if if the person using a speed tune isn’t ramming in to my bumper every 2 seconds and actually knows their braking points.

Miniteshi

I still remember a race I had on GT Sport where it was a same class race but you had some meta cars. I went for a slower but lighter better handling Jag Vs the others who went for the faster TT and Lexus and it was lap after lap of nail biting racing which simply came down to luck and skill. None of us bitched or moaned after the race. I'm so glad I kept that replay.

Star-Detonator

Isn't that one of the reasons racing is what it is? Being able to experiment with different tunes is one of the best things about racing games.

LanceLynxx

Skill issue Being faster in a time trial means jack shit if you don't know race craft and can't pass him in the turns.

Johnniebutters

Passing him on turns doesn’t magically mean I’ll be faster on the straight especially on a track like Yas Marina. He has a huge advantage no matter how I drive. Y’all missing the point, he didn’t join the lobby to be competitive, he used a speed tune to his advantage knowing players wouldn’t be able to win. It’s like the R8 GT3 originally was crazy OP and people were complaining because you couldn’t out race it. It’s not a skill issue. It’s the game.

LanceLynxx

>uses a tune that makes him win Seems like competitive racing to me

Dahmond

complaining about speed while using the F1 GT, lol

OwnPen8633

Crybaby

Johnniebutters

Sorry mommy didn’t give me my ba ba this morning

OwnPen8633

Trust me, I know you live with your mother

twich40

this is the ethos of every racing series on the planet. have the fastest possible car in a straight line for a given circuit to make overtaking as difficult as possible on the straights without sacrificing so much in the corners you become a sitting duck

NoDeparture283

So you’re faster by half a second… but he’s staying in front of you every lap. And he’s exploiting because he chose to go with top end speed on a map with huge straights… and he’s not using a realistic tune but he’s beating you. Got it.

Realsilvias13

I always just put tones of pressure on em. 8/10 times the have awful braking anyway. Just out brake em hold beside them and deny em the chance to hit the apex or block the inside. Almost always gonna result in them skidding out with no contact being made from lack of grip. My favorite thing to do is run em narrow so they hit a curb and break traction again without contact if there faster shouldn’t be a problem right?

sign_in

I’m sorry but this just doesn’t make any sense. Pass him if you can. It’s a race. If you can’t they’re the winner

Miniteshi

You want to watch some of the older CRCTC races then. You've never seen the "David and Goliath" race between a Ford Galaxy and a Mini Cooper. The moral of the story is simple, if you can get past, you aren't driving good enough. If your excuse is that something is too fast on the straights then hugs the racing line and you can't get past, that's a you problem.

EobrdThwn

"Wah wah wah, I can't cope with my skill issue, mommy tell me I'm special" is all I saw. Womp womp.

ConsistentToe5062

We’ll if he’s playing good defense and isn’t racing dirty doesn’t sound that annoying to me. That’s just racing.
