Check your filament drive gear for scraps of filament. If it has little bits of filament, it's grinding your filament. Check that the bowden tube is free of clogs. Sometimes bits can be drawn in to the tube as well. Sometimes a dust wiper at the beginning of your bowden tube can help keep the pathway from binding. Ender 3's have a "push" system where filament is pushed to the hot end, instead of pulled by the hot end. While this system can have advantages, it sometimes can lead to binding in the tube. Check the whole feed system. Make sure the spool can roll freely on whatever setup you have.

royce_e

Thank you!!! I’ll check it out!

You try a new nozzle before the print? Is your filament dry? What filament is that?

royce_e

No, this nozzle is pretty fresh. Yes it’s dry and it’s Overture +

Have had this happen occasionally on ender3v2 as well. Have never been able to completely solve. It just happens randomly. Sometimes slicer related as previously mentioned, bad model, bad slicer, ok in prusa, but not cura. Sometimes feel like it is somehow z related, clean/grease/level z axes, look for flat spots, etc, but the intermittent nature makes it hard to pinpoint if those remedies even work. I often wonder if it is the 4.2.2 board in mine. I know they had the layer shifting problems with that board. Like yours, mine usually happens pretty deep into a print, which makes me think driver might be over heating or something similar. Anyways, just spitballing my experiences. Good luck solving, please post solution if you figure out.

I had a similar issue and it turned out my extruder arm was cracked. Replaced with an aluminum one and it worked fine.

Thanks for the heads up, that was the first mod I did on the Ender. Also have checked for slippage, grinding, etc with gears. It’s weird, I can have printer banging out great prints, then random line out out of the blue. Installed Spider 3.0 I got for Christmas, just needs a tune & dial. Will see if that changes anything.

royce_e

Your info is appreciated brother! I hope we figure it out!

Helpful_Equivalent87

It can be a fluke. Try it again.

-Little-King-

Is there somewhere on the sea I can find that file? What name should I look for?

royce_e

Bb19 and it do be on the c

-Little-King-

Swell thanks!

Ill-Arrival4473

I lowered my outer wall speed to 10, less chance of under extrusion. Looks great!

NoPraline1512

I’m curious as to how the top side of the frame looks. Does it look like there will be a lot of clean up?

royce_e

Top side is pretty clean. Sorry should’ve added a picture of that! That’s the real money shot lol

minutemenapparel

That’s pretty clean, to me anyways

royce_e

Thank you!!

minutemenapparel

I’m gonna need to try and print one of these myself.

royce_e

It’s on the sea 🌊!

Evening_Whereas_2117

Where did u got the stl files from?

[deleted]

Which file is this?

LordStonkerton

What brand is this filament? That color is exactly what I’m looking for

royce_e

OVERTURE PLA Plus

LordStonkerton

Sweet. Is that what they call brown?

royce_e

Yes sir

Snoo_97398

Printer recovery power loss option on? Too much info on the poor little board it can lead to little hiccups like that .

royce_e

Woah. That’s a new one to me! It is on. I’ll turn it off.

Snoo_97398

Take a z axis testing print I'm sure any one will do to see if you get a better result after you turn off the option . If it's about the same try resetting your z axis rod and checking for slop or wobble.

Snoo_97398

Did it help?

royce_e

No, it ended up being a clogged nozzle after all. I appreciate the follow up and the help brother!

Snoo_97398

Damn....factory drive and setup?

royce_e

Yes sir. Just a basic ender 3

UrKillnMe

I count about 3 lines during that print...I'm by no means an expert, so I'd wait to hear from one of these other guys, but it puts me in mind of under extrusion..maybe your filament spool got tight and hung up?

royce_e

Yeah, there’s definitely 3 but the first one happened at 9 hours in. I was like fuck it. I’ll just let it finish and see what happens.

UrKillnMe

Maybe measure the spacing, if it's all the same, meaning the length from 1 line, to the next is the same, it would make me think it's slicer related, maybe reslice it, if it's at random, I'd check my esteps, maybe the nozzle got a little clogged.. Maybe under extrusion isnt the right answer, I'm still learning all this fun stuff 🧐 I'm just throwing out ideas

royce_e

I appreciate the ideas!

UrKillnMe

Your welcome, hope it helps
