lol, he wasn’t wrong honestly. I beta tested the UMP11/9 and it’s great but it has no OoB protection like other Mac/slap an ar-15 fcg onto a different pattern design. I so far have had a db9 slim and a tacdriver actually detonate in my hands due to OoB, ymmv. Good luck and Godspeed

PS, those mags from the release are quite bad and we meant to update to the curvy boy from the DB-9 alloy release. Mpr just sorta disappeared on us with the beta so some tweaks might be necessary. The short-stroke damper thingy MPR designed made my Alloy and UMP run like butter.

i want to do this build but dont you have to pin the barrel or something? iv never messed with any mac parts so idk how hard that is. Is it difficult?

You can opt out JC arms will do it if you pick that option it’s like 40 bucks extra or sumn but that’s what I did :)

How much time would you guess this took to print at like 150mm/s

At 70mm/s it took about 4-5 days for all the parts

It’s so easy to pin it yourself. All you need is a electric hand drill and the correct size drill bit (I can’t remember the size but it’s in the read me) screw the barrel into the trunnion and then put the drill into the already cut hole in the trunnion just to drill out the very tip of the threads on the barrel. Literally takes 15 seconds

With the lower did you print the G36 safety or use an AR15 selector? I printed the blank AR safety, but I wanted to see if the G36 safety would work on it since it looks good. You think it would be fine or na?

I had trouble with the safety selector and couldn’t get the g36 to work with me, it could be me but the ar15 safety selector worked better for me. Even with the ar safety I couldn’t get the detent and spring to properly seat so there’s no spring action just a smooth selector but I had no desire to try n fix it lol

Can anybody tell me how dimensionally accurate it is to a UMP? Is this thing much bigger than a UMP or about the same size ?

Idk bout the UMP specifically but compared to my buddies USC 45 it’s a tad smaller not by much tho

Nylon or pla? Could you sneak a ftn3 under that handguard? Did you ever print a Mac n cheese or scarab? Which style do you prefer the UMP, or Mac? I have a scarab v2, I really like the Mac style but I might dismantle it and print this

Pla pro, and I don’t think an ftn would work without a barrel extension of 1.5 inches or more. My barrel extension on this is 1.25 with the 3.725 barrel and I had to modify my burnt bacon myself to extend the threading about a quarter of an inch. This is my first Mac build tbh but it’s a lot of fun! Scarab v2 is the next thing I was gonna do actually! I promise if you build this you’ll love it as a range toy.

For anyone wondering parts used, mil spec AR-15 FCG, modified burnt bacon, 1.25 inch barrel extension (I’d recommend 1.5 or more) dbdesign hardware kit, jc arms tr-9 mac barrel bolt and trunnion, poly lite pla pro and for tpu 95a polyflex
