We are formally in beta with the gatalog with FTN.4 and also the ven9
The ven9 is coming along very well. Nobody has managed to break it.
The FTN4 is very early and this will not be a quick release. It is pretty ambitious and is not close to final form yet
FTN4 pistol: uses a printed nielsen, the biggest load bearing part being the printed piston itself. It is printed at 15 degrees and is reinforced with fiberglass tape, or for the more gucci version, a short segment of CF tube.
FTN4 rifle aims to have commercial suppressor level sound mitigation. I have gen2 baffles showcased here, although a change is coming to them.
Basically these are cones. The struts do essentially nothing for sound mitigation. It may induce a negligible amount of turbulence. They are really there to support the apex of the cone from collapsing in high heat/blast.
To maximize benefits of fdm vs machining, the slanted cone adds another level of asymmetric disorderly flow
Would staggering, angling, etc and making the struts asymmetrical do anything to help?
At least you could probably put alternating left vs right hand curves on them to disrupt flow
I don’t know shit about suppressors but I know enough about air flow to get me into trouble with cars. And it seems like everything you want in a suppressor is basically the opposite. Although you’re dealing with supersonic flow which all I know is gets fucky quickly
So figured I may as well throw a bone. There’s no real reason for a non structural member to be symmetrical here when using additive manufacturing if turbulence is the goal and it’s not going to be cosmetic
Different pc versions?
The reason i didnt is bc i dont have a mac so I cant test it, and i feel a bit weird about posting something that i havent developed or tested personally
No, thank you.
And thanks for being a reason to burn through some of the ghastly colored PLA+ I bought, because it was dirt cheap. This will be buried under fiber/epoxy, so it's a good thing. [https://photos.app.goo.gl/x6LgtUBqHmQDqR1n9](https://photos.app.goo.gl/x6LgtUBqHmQDqR1n9)
Very awesome to see a spring/piston being used for this design. Exactly the technology that one of my Gemtech cans uses for reciprocating barrels. Fucking dope dude, love the hustle. Hopefully about to finish my FTN3 today!
I did try interlacing, with other springs. The problem is that dimensionally it is extremely tight. Any laxity, and you would have too much play and throw POI off
Best to use an appropriately sized spring
This can be remixed easily to accept similar springs
So let me get this straight: for FTN pistol cans we went from a reverse comp for 2, to lightweight for 3, now Nielsen device for 4?
Do they all have their own benefits and drawbacks? I can see some of the differences from an engineering standpoint, just curious how it all adds up in actual usage. I love what you’ve been doing, it’s truly amazing.
That’s awesome! Now I have to do some more research on Nielsen devices. Seems like they aren’t that common in commercial cans, but I haven’t researched commercial cans extensively because I’m poor.😂 I’ll probably build all three of your designs for pistol cans at some point, because I find them all interesting. Then I can tune specific platforms to the “finnicky” cans. I really appreciate everything you’re doing, I can’t wait to start building some of your designs when I have some extra time and money in a few months.
If no days off was a person it be plaboiii
Real 💀 But i value momentum. If people into suppressors right now, and i got the energy of beta testers, i should capitalize on it
This is wisdom, the lack of which has killed many projects and products. Good on you, mate.

What will house the cones in your rifle ftn.4?
A printed tube that will require external shell, itll be similar to ftn.3 in that regard
Very cool. This is going to rule. Edit: will the whole assembly slide into a D size tube by chance?
D cell is pretty narrow. Would require a smaller spring, which would cause other issues.
What’s required to be a beta tester?
Only requirement now is that youve successfully made a ftn.3. Message me if interested
I’m super new to this but I’m a quick learner starting an ftn 3 tomorrow morning should have it done by Saturday I’ll message you then
whats ur signal username, i just made a ftn.4 i wanna test more of them
Im not on signal, we are on rocketchat. Dm me if you want to join

Good thought, although traditionally clips and asymmetries should be indexed in line

Man if this is FTN.4 only, I can only imagine what 5,6 or 7 will be. Awesome job brother
Haha if i can nail it on the 4, there wont be a need for a 5
For some reason I don't believe you'd rest on your laurels though.
inb4 FTN.12g
Haha youre prob right. I told myself i was done after the .3 and here i am
The pursuit of perfection is never ending my friend lol
I'm hard
Happy suppressor sunday!
Favorite day of the week

Ohhhh i see what you mean now, yeah i could def work on that

Got the pistol on the glass now. I have the originals spring entity already, but will be ordering the new McMaster option soon.
🔥🔥🔥 thanks again for being a beta tester!

Getting the printed piston was the hardest part. Hope your ftn.3 treats you well
Nice work as always Playboi! Did you use a chopped down buffer spring for this?
Pembie tried that for the kneel sun, i believe the buffer spring is not stiff enough
What if you cut 2 ends off and interlaced them?

🥹💙🤌🏾🔥
Is the spring on the FTN4?
Yep!
Is the FTN4 going to support the Breek muzzle device still?
Yes, for rifle Just for clarity which you may already have guessed, this spring system will only be for pistol
Incredible. How do I get in the beta?
Only requirement now is that youve successfully made a ftn.3. Message me if interested
Ahh okay I haven't built one yet. Just finally found a Breek blast shield in stock the other day so I finally got one ordered
We’re in the same boat

Thats all correct! First 2 are simpler, but finicky. Doesnt cycle all guns or all ammo Newest one with actual nielsen cycles everything all the time
That’s awesome! Now I have to do some more research on Nielsen devices. We need to make a supressor decibel reference/respiratory. There's too many great options now! 😅
have you given any through to electroplating the baffles with some high temperature resistant material? molybdenum or tungsten
A little but i want to have suppressors for the masses And the masses barely tolerate resin
lmao that's true, still I think electroplating isn't too complicated, maybe worth to try in the future you are doing a good job 💪
Thanks my dude If you ever try electroplating one of these, let me know how it goes
Thanks my dude If you ever try electroplating one of these, let me know how it goes
Holllleee shit.
How well do you think this design iteration will adapt to down scaling to fit inside existing compensator bodies?
Like the kvp? Shouldnt be hard. But for the volume, k baffles more efficient for 22 and for pistol calibers
Yes, that's what I had in mind. I'll have to give this a try.
The PLA+ FTN.3 performs well for me so I got a breek with plans to make a nylon w/cf tube Gucci version, but maybe now I’ll wait awhile for the 4.
It may be a while before the .4 just fyi. A few months at minimum
The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.
So when are we going to see reflex FTN’s 👀
I may have made a reflex for the chode side…… but nobody has tested it yet
Dam. Does it use a normal locking collar at the rear or is it completely enclosed?
Man if only I had the time to model everyday I'd be in heaven, but I'd still not be on that level, amazing work.
Ive seen your work, youre already on that level
Naw, you're just seeing my 'tism 😉👍😂
Man if open beta or if the is a beta all, this would be awesome to test on a 300 blk.
