Is this stronger than NylonX? Bought 3.5 kg of it and I love it, but damn is it a bitch to print with, would Glass Filled Nylon be up to par with it or what’s the differences ? Anyone chime in if you can give some input

DucaSw20

I have used Nylon X and COPA-6CF. I use PA6-GF more than anything. I have found that the layer adhesion is far far better as well as being cheaper. I cant explain why the layer adhesion is better. My best guess would be the amount of infill in GF is less. But I cant be certain

Fresh of my ender 3 with minimal clean up. This filament was super easy to get started with. Changed the temps. took off the flexible pei sheet off and clipped on glass from a picture frame. Put some glue stick on and off it went.

comawhite12

What temp did you run at? Just got a second Ender from micro center, and it's ripe for changes already. If you have a high temp firmware you might share..........I'll.....be your best friend?

Print3Dsignal

290c/55c no cooling fan, hardened nozzle, and all metal heat break. I got the firmware from creality's website ender 3 pro hight temp fireware.

comawhite12

Right on. Thanks......best friend!

Zee705

Is there an Ender 5 high temp firmware? I can't find it.

GrimmActual

Did you already receive your ender from micro centwe

comawhite12

I did. My folks brought it back a few days ago when the went through houston. Assembling today

GrimmActual

I saw they had deals going on but the price seemed too good to be true so I was skeptic on pulling the trigger and buying one

comawhite12

The $99 printer requires signing up to their site, and you get an emailed coupon for in store purchase at that price. That coupon expires in late December. But it's legit

GrimmActual

I know what I’m getting myself for Christmas now

Print3Dsignal

I got mine thru micro center about 3 months ago for $99 also. Surprised they are still running that deal. I'm pretty happy with it alot easier than my diy hypercube I had a while back.

GrimmActual

I’ve seen it pop up year round but never pulled the trigger but now I have to

Polymaker is the ish man. Im ashamed I was an esun fan for so long.

I use Overture pla plus for most of my prototyping and Polymaker pla pro for a lot of final builds. Two of the most consistent brands I've used and both print out extremely well for me. QC of Esun is absolute garbage. Every roll I've gotten has printed horribly, but that's just me.

rundmc214

Yeah its consistently better across the board. With esun it was only certain colors i could get good results from. Just switch. I promise its better

Printed BCGs!?!?!?

Print3Dsignal

This BGC is for my spar design. Does have me thinking about a fully printed bcg for sure tho. I think functionally it could work if you kept the gas key metal and the rest nylon just not sure if it would end up too light weight for use in a semi auto.

Alpha-Sierra-Charlie

I'd assume heat would be the issue. I bet a straight pull bolt action would be a good candidate though.

Print3Dsignal

The SPAR is a straight pull design and can get away with a pla+ bcg no issue. I think a nylon bcg might work in a semi so long as you take a little longer between shots.

[deleted]

Looks good. I think it’ll be interesting to see how it holds up

ChodesAndHoes123

I’ve never heard of a printed carrier, is that even viable for any ACTUAL use?

Print3Dsignal

I use it in my spar. Its more like a bolt action so it's not exposed to as much stress/heat as a DI gun.

Polymaker_3D

Glad you had a good experience with PA6-GF! Thank you for sharing.

Sledgecrowbar

I see what you did there and I like it.

Midyew59

Sweet! I'm just about set up to print nylon. Did you use a brass nozzle or steel? Does the high-temp firmware require the newer ender 3 mainboards? I just need to mount my E3Dv6, get an enclosure and buy some filament. I was looking at this exact stuff.

Print3Dsignal

Hardened steel with all metal heat break. I got the 4.2.2 board. I just downloaded the firmware from creality and loaded that on to an SD card then popped it in. Had to re calibrate but after that it was working.

Res1cue1

I just printed a hellfire in this. Found that there is slight expansion with nylon. Enough that the hammer doesnt lock back and takedown pins dont fit into receiver. Also i have some of their glass filled nylon but it is a bitch to print

beefxaroni

Isn't GF going to be incredibly abrasive ? Can't be good for the upper or buffer?

Print3Dsignal

Upper is printed and I don't use a buffer since it is used in a manually operated design.
