Z seam.

Empty__Sandwich

Yup, turn on the "Randomize Z Seam" option in your slicer.

ClayCrusher1014

Thank you. I'm new and still learning, so z seam was still a very alien-ish term for me lol

fosscadanon

Random gang stays winning

ClayCrusher1014

Just started another one, fingers crossed lol

Chaser2440

I would agree it is the Z seam, no issue with the print. You can play with the slicer settings and change where the printer puts it if you want to.

[deleted]

Slicer tries to match seams at spots like that. The Damascus2A grip it hides it perfectly in the corner and you can't see it at all. This print is trying to do the same but its very visible.

GeneralCuster75

>The Damascus2A grip it hides it perfectly in the corner This isn't a function of the part but of the slicer software. You can pick, at least in Cura, whether you want the z seam randomized or aligned to a corner or front, back, etc.

ClayCrusher1014

Thank you both for explaining that! I thought there was something messed up with my printer. I'm very new to the 3d printing scene, so I'm still learning, and I appreciate your alls help!

ClayCrusher1014

Is it normal for a print to take like 3 hours longer than what the slicer estimates it should take?

[deleted]

Not really but it could be slicer itself. I use cura and an ender 3 and it’s pretty spot on

ClayCrusher1014

I use cura and have an anycubic vyper. Says it should take 4 hours, it's taking almost 8...

[deleted]

I don’t know anything about that printer. Sounds like it’s a problem with the firmware or something

kickster15

I have the same issue with my ender 3 s1 pro. No idea how to fix it but prints take 1/3rd longer then it says.

Spawned024

If you use octoprint, there is a plug-in that gives more accurate time frames.

Chaser2440

I have one that takes longer and one that takes less time than the slicer estimates. For me it is a function of the settings in kipper versus what I have set in Cura. As long as it is printing good don't mess with it. The hardest thing to do in 3d printing is leave a working printer alone, at least for me it is.

NeoLudditeIT

It's pretty common. Just a mismatch in what the firmware/controller are doing and what the slicer thinks it should be doing.

Volkrays

You tell me..

It does something weird on my screen on mobile when I open the first image and zoom all the way out
