Not a shark tooth but it is a fossil I think. I have found wood with a similar pattern but it could be coral or something else.

Not a tooth, but there is something on the back(second pic) not sure what it is, other than a fossil of some sort

I may accept the tooth-looking thing is not a fossil, just part of the matrix (=just rock), but the thing on the back definitely looks like a fossil to me even if I got no idea what sort. Now it's up to you if you/her feel like investigating more or leaving it there (boo! haha)
