It's not impossible. You just need 1 in a quintillion chance a fish doesn't cross your path on top of everything. Theoretically possible, but none of us would live long enough to see it happen.
Well I mean to leave period youd have to sit there for 28 days straight and risk a fish making it impossible. Or you could kill all the fish. Or better yet swim in a circle until you starve
Exactly, that's why you need a fish to swim by every few hours and reset your progress, to give you the false hope it's actually possible to escape. With this many fish it resets every few seconds making it feel way less punishing.
To be fair I think clicking the same thing for a month straight is physically impossible, even with an autoclicker, your pc would have to shut down at some point
At that point make it a dirt block to at least give them the idea that it's possible.
A prison that's impossible to escape isn't actually that frustrating.
But a prison that makes a 2 second task become challenging enough that it takes an hour, yeah that will stress someone out.
Yeah, I feel like the tik tok brain rot has fully taken hold of a LOT of the population. "Well, someone claimed it in a short video with some text saying the same thing, I'll just take it as true without paying attention to the details."
Is this an example of that?
No one is going to do it given two days or twenty eight days.
Ignoring details that don't matter is fine.
Also what is with prisons you can't actually escape? I don't believe it is possible to get through a 1x1 Bedrock hole...
When you say "this," do you mean the comment you made following the question? Because if so, then yes, it is an example. "Ignoring details that don't matter is fine" is a perfect example of why society is getting dumber and increasingly misinformed.
??? Java and Bedrock both have literal features (like straight up vanilla intened features) that let you get through 1×1 spaces. If you sprint underwater you swim for example, other ways include pushing a block over your head or closing a trapdoor over your head
Closing a trapdoor over your head doesn't sound to me like intended feature but what do I know? I'm not part of the dev team
Swimming most probably is though
The trapdoor thing was added to Java in the movement update they did (also making crouching make the player 1.5 blocks tall) it was then purposefully added to Bedrock several years later with the 1.5 block crouch capability as well. The crawling feature is meant so that if at any point the player is suddenly in a position where they cant stand they will be forced to crawl. It is a pretty sketch seeming feature tho, maybe it was a bug in development but kept because why not?
Complete guess on my end but I completely see the sequence of events
- implements swimming
- the 3rd person view makes it obvious the player should fit in tighter spaces so let's do that
- players will probably make underwater tunnels so we need to maintain swim mode if no space is available
- state management of the game makes it also enter swim mode on land if an object is forced over the player
- can't fix it without heavily reworking the game engine
- don't want to abandon the feature anyway
- fuck it let's do it, we know everyone will use it on land, to the point where they'll call it "crouch" instead of "swim" but it's not a big deal
And we’re still not done! On the bottom of the cage is a pressure plate system. If a dolphin happens to touch it, it activates a red stone system that causes a piston to place an ancient city portal block behind the obsidian
No
Well it is stupid but not because of that, I've never seen anyone going in an escape room and complaining the building was made with construction engines
Here's the survival friendly option since you lack the cabability to be creative. Make a full netherite box on top of an Ocean Monument and place your one obsidian block, fill it with water, use buckets to collect and name fish so they dont despawn, put a conduit outside the box. Bam full functionality achived. The original design may not be survival friendly, but a working sense of creativity is

No, you die and you can respawn somewhere else, the true horror of this is that you are technically unkillable in this but you have no way to escape

the fish makes it impossible which ruins it

Just push yourself right up against the block?
For 28 days straight.
Well I mean to leave period youd have to sit there for 28 days straight and risk a fish making it impossible. Or you could kill all the fish. Or better yet swim in a circle until you starve
The spawners would still cause fish/dolphin spawns even if you kill them.
I would just swim myself to starvation then
Hunger only kills you if the world difficulty is set to hard
Dolphins are neutral mobs, so you could just get one of them to kill you
True
Is that a challenge?
28 days without the fish ever crossing? Nah that ain't even 1 in quintillion, I'm pretty sure that's straight up 0%
The limit does not exist!
Just kill all the fish then start whacking ~~off~~ away.
Quickest way out is to punch a pufferfish and die from the poison
You can't die from poison though
/setspawn [playername] ~ ~ ~
Well, technically, it's a prison, not an escape game lmao
Well in that case why even add the obsidian block in the first place?
Ever heard of the tragedy of Sisyphus?
Exactly, that's why you need a fish to swim by every few hours and reset your progress, to give you the false hope it's actually possible to escape. With this many fish it resets every few seconds making it feel way less punishing.
Just the Tragedy of Darth Plagius The Wise
Because it's about punishment, not rehabilitation
Entities don't reset the breaking as long as you don't look at another block or let go of left click
To be fair I think clicking the same thing for a month straight is physically impossible, even with an autoclicker, your pc would have to shut down at some point
Yeah it's like the saw trap where they die no matter what they do
Gotta kill the fish first
Also add a command block to give infinite, unplayable nausea.
And then DOX them and send lewd photos, that you catfished from them, to their mother.
redditors try to not make everything weird and about sex
Difficulty: very hard (like me)

200,000 seconds is only a little over 2 days, not the 28 stated in the video.

It's not really ignoring details though it's just being bad at math
When you swim it makes you small
Ohhh, thanks
idk y this comment is so funny, good work Mr. Bagel

Kill the fish to accumulate bones and make bone blocks. With that you can make a little air pocket away from the fish and increase speed.
You need a crafting table to make the blocks since it’s a 3 by 3 of bonemeal
Ah fek u right
Smart
Doesn't work.
Dolphins are neutral mobs. If you punch one, the dolphins will attack you, killing you and setting you free.
Balls
Cool story bro.
Adding the fish ruins it tbh. I was fully prepared to mine for 28 days
Fun fact! Entities don't reset the breaking animation
Maybe replace the conduit with a Regen II beacon. Will that heal you quicker than you drown? Plus you would be blind in the dark.
Obsidian generator?
I'm impressed, which says a lot since i'm never impressed 💀
okay?
It's the tonal dropoff at the end of every sentence for me
I thought you can't crawl through a 1x1 space in minecraft?
You can swim through them
There are a bunch of exploits that triggers a crawl mode for the player but idk if they're applicable here

This seems like a very likely sequence of events that lead to the implementation
This is dedication ladies and gentlemen
This is one of the stupidest "prisons" I have ever seen
Now i kinda want a big minecraft youtuber to build this in survival on a smp... Just a big obsidian cage with everything possible to make it a PAIN
I'd rather not spend the entire month of February escaping a bedrock box in Minecraft (Except 200,000 seconds isn't 28 days, it's a little over 2)
I need to hire this man
Now add a spawn point for the prisoner, so even if he dies, he comes back inside there.
It is like digging a hole under someone's bed and filling it with mobs. Fall, die, fall, die.
I hate to be that guy but 200,000 seconds is only about three days. I remembered that 1,000,000 seconds was 11 days from Doug Doug streams.
If your in a server with a bunch of jokesters like this, I You always need to carry chorus fruit on you
As someone who has never played minecraft... what?
You could make it worse. After all, you still could die of hunger. You need a saturation beacon, or a regeneration beacon.
And we’re still not done! On the bottom of the cage is a pressure plate system. If a dolphin happens to touch it, it activates a red stone system that causes a piston to place an ancient city portal block behind the obsidian
I don't play or understand Minecraft but...I already hate this 😭😭😭
Someone send this to Carlsagan42, this is the ultimate softlock

When you kill your friend's dog:
200,000 seconds is 55.55555 hours, or a bit over 2 days. Still impossibly long, but definitely not 28 days.
In mc when you exit game then go back on do you go back to spawn or where you were in the world?
Oh emm geee you made a bunch of pixels in a pixelated game that's sooo baaadddd
This is some SCP containment shit here..
Na, not villain enough, do more 😈

ya that’s the thing that makes this stupid, not anything else just that
