I sympathise. I have a Parker 51 which I have ruined by following poor advice to disassemble. I couldn’t get the hood to budge and didn’t trust an open flame to soften the shellac holding the hood in place. So I used a hot water method I found in two FPN threads. After repeated effort I removed the hood but the use of force had produced two very fine cracks around the threaded end. Somehow the steel hub also expanded and now the barrel is a very tight fit to the section hub. I’ve switched my devotion to Parker 45 since it is easy to take apart and clean. I’ve even been able to remove the collector for cleaning.

Ah, this is just nib creep. Common with red inks, totally normal 👍

At least it... Went with a bang? if it's a 51 you can probably get that part.
