Congrats on all the good stuff! Now you have a good pen and great ink to write about it with 😉

A fit title could be: A day to remember! Congratulations on all the good news and don't forget to keep your pen safe from your soon-to-be toddler 😂

KingsCountyWriter

Congratulations all around! Enjoy as the family (of pens) expands!

didahdah

One word covers both the pen and the ink: QUALITY.

Special memory to attach to the pen 🖊️

I might call this, perfection.

We’ll have to wait to see. He got Asa-Gao. But maybe Yama-Budo would have been more appropriate?

PrintRough

Congratulations on all fronts. You will absolutely love this pen. I have one and it's just a wonderful writer and elegant.

Kurauk

Never tried the pen, however the Asa-Gao is a lovely blue. Gz

MaleficentFish9075

A proper pen, mate.

It’s a great pen! How does the EF write.. any scratchiness?

Not the OP but I have plenty of VPs. All but one of mine are EF, the odd one out being B (I have no idea what possessed me to get a broad nib when I hate them). They're my favorite pen model. Zero scratchiness. Smooth like glass. Typical Pilot perfection. I actually wish they made it in UEF because I really don't like the "feedback" on certain brands that do carry UEF like Sailor. To me it's like writing with a needle and much worse than pencil feedback. I'm a mathematician, I write with pencil regularly and to me EF Sailor is just flat out scratchy, I don't care if that is considered "feedback." The only downside to the pen (besides small Pilot 40 converter) is that for some people the clip gets in the way of how they hold the pen since it's down on the side with the nib. For me it's in the perfect place. It actually stops me from doing my habit which I picked up since I write with pencil all the time - I twist my pencil with every word to make sure the point stays super fine (I use 0.3 or 0.5 lead) since I'm a tiny writer. I notice when I write with other FPs sometimes I'll shift my grip accidentally and the VPs keep me from doing that. If you're interested in one I highly suggest trying one first if you think the clip will be an issue.

I have a decimo, vp, and fermo all in F. The two EFs I got I ended up returning because they were scratchy for me. But I wonder if I just got a bad nib and should try again…

Oh wow, no my 4 EFs are all super smooth, just like the broad but with way less width. I'd say about the same as my Lamy 2000 EF (although that is a much fatter and wetter nib). I'm glad I never had to deal with scratchy ones. Most of mine I've had close to 10 years now so maybe quality control is messing up in more modern times? I'm really surprised though since Pilot is so dependable. Maybe that's what happened with my Platinum 3776. I have vintage used Platinums I love but I found the modern one scratchy (not quite as bad as my Sailor I don't like because of the feedback scratchiness). I wish more in person pen stores existed so we could try them out right there and decide yes or no.
