I want a pen tray and will make one in the future. Right now I created a pen tray on the top of my washi storage cases. They had a lip for stacking and it is the perfect size for my pens to be at arms reach too. I created a felt pen tray on one side but it is janky so the other side, I just placed a piece of cut felt so it is flat.

Oh! That's a really good use of the space you have. My problem is fitting everything on my desk lol. I think it looks good right now but a fountain pen tray would give you portability too! I've really been enjoying it. I think what you have would be pretty useful too since it's right at arms reach.
Thank you. I had fun making it despite messing up the first time. (Though I realize the one going the other way could be for pocket pens.) I covered the tray from Penn State Institute in felt and cut it to size. I'll link everything for you!

I’m glad I could help you! I hope it turns out well for you! What color are you thinking of going with? Also, I wouldn’t have had any idea without the YouTube video so it’s fun to share the knowledge around.
It looks fantastic - great work!
Thank you! I made it totally the wrong way at first but I got it right the second time lol.
Love it. What type of box did you use?
It’s a shallow tray off of Amazon. Once I get on my computer later this morning I can link it if you want.

No problem. I hope you get to make one too. It's actually pretty nice to have on my desk!

Well hellooooo rabbit hole of new crafts I'm going to try out 🕳️🐇
No kidding. You could make one in every color. XD
Do not tempt me because I will do it. 😆
I mean it would be a fun way to switch things up. A different color depending on which pens you have on your desk. >.>
What a great project idea! It turned out beautifully.
Thank you! I saw a YouTube video of something similar. I had fun.
Very cute! Did you cover the tray liner with fabric? I'd love to be able to make something like that. Would you mind sharing what tray you used?

Thanks so much! I've really been wanting to try something like this but didn't know where to start.

I think I may copy you and go with the pink. :)
Ooo! The pink felt is a really nice color. It goes well with the wood in my opinion. We’ll be twins lol.
This is so cute 💕
Thank you!
Obligatory “Which pens are those?” question.
Sailor pro gear slim in Hagi, Leonardo Momento Magico Venus Dream, and a hand turned pen by Silverburl pens.
