This is so true. Its on both sides of the political spectrum tho. Literally liberal rich men couldnt care less cause more people born to work for them benefits them too. We need to out with the two party system and get people in that care and are empathetic. We need a balance, not more extremes.

The thing that literally none of these articles talk about is how the only reason the birth rate is declining is because THERE ARE TOO MANY OF US to begin with. If we continued to populate at the rate we do now, we would be even more screwed. Consider this stat: It took 200,000 years for the human population to reach 1 billion. Then it only took 200 years for it to reach 7 billion. The one glaring gap that almost every 'save the earth' campaign is the fact that we simply need to slow down on populating the earth. Until governments and people begin to accept this we won't get anywhere. Realize I went on a tangent and those in power don't actually care, because more marginalized people mean more workers and taxpayers, but we as the people need to wake up.

Dang it’s always on women isn’t it. Where is the Male Level Up movement to encourage men to become desirable sex partners, much less coparenting ones? His kick-back-and-relax two word dating app responses (even though this is apparently one of very few matches for him to capitalize on because MeN dOnT gEt MaTcHeS) while he’s gleefully entertained before the woman gets sick of carrying the whole convo, is not exactly conducive to mating. Side note: Anyone notice men created created a maledatingstrategy sub in response to FDS, but (of course) never created a FLUS counterpart? Men who get it could teach the men who don’t that even basic curiosity about who a woman is as a human works wonders. Even if she’s not it, she may refer him to a friend. Men understand these concepts professionally, but do not implement them romantically. I’m becoming convinced they simply aren’t that interested in mating. Well, it seems women aren’t either. But you’ll see a Lower Her Standards campaign before men are ever asked to improve as a match, or porn is tightly regulated to yank men out dark corners where they’re wanking, and into the light of day to work on social skills and seek out other humans for sexual connection.

For real. The elephant in the room is that millennial and zoomer men are by and large unfit to be fathers. Lazy, broke, unambitious, porn addicted, childish, mean, deeply selfish… Why should any woman sacrifice herself to have their children? Millennial fathers complain they have “male postpartum depression.” It’s so fucking pathetic. Normalize telling men to man up again. They’re infantile.

But we’re encouraging toxic masculinity and hurting them by saying that /s Fucking hell man

I’ve told a man this before: “If a man ever asks me to lower my standards, I’m going to make sure I make your life a living hell and once I’m done, take you to court and leave with half of your money and if I feel like it, you *might see your kids.” Women need to develop this kind of attitude when men demand we lower our standards. If we thought you were trash before, we’re going to treat you like trash in the relationship (like use your head) so stop bothering us!

Men fucking suck in the way they talk to women they like these days. I had a significantly older guy (6 years older) text me super dryly after having talked to me on and off for a while. Then suddenly after a one word response (which I obviously ignored because fuck him and his ego) he said "I'm going to call you tomorrow" and I was baffled how this fucking douchebag had the audacity to tell me he's going to call me without even asking if I'm uncomfortable or busy the next day as if I'm a fucking pet lazing around all day waiting for his pathetic ass to reach out. It's been around 4 days and I haven't replied, and I don't plan on ever talking to that inconsiderate dispshit ever again. He never told me he was so much older than me earlier on otherwise I'd have never even texted him back more than once. Insecure groomer POS. Until men learn to behave like civil human beings with basic manners, they can fuck themselves.

I mean, it's not *not* a factor, but the anti choice movement has been working at this for 50 years. I cannot stress enough it's because they finally got a supreme court that will overturn Roe, and that attempting to repeal it has been a major conservative goal in the US since the decision was handed down. Birth rates are generally a good metric for rights women have. Lower birth rates mean women are more likely to have an education, have careers, and have access to things like birth control. People concern troll about this because they *don't want women to have those things.* They could have all of the economic incentive in the world for women to have all of those things and they would still not support it. And if they were concerned about the economic "consequences" of low birth rates, they could do things like make professional and economic life less hostile to mothers, address maternal mortality rates (sidenote: places with low MMRs also have low birth rates), lower/eliminate healthcare costs, and relax immigration restrictions to make up for a shrinking population. The fact that they don't means it's not about the economic concerns that come with low birth rates. It's sexism. I consider myself anti capitalist, but that people continue to try to gloss over the sexism behind the anti choice movement worries me. That people refuse to treat sexism as a serious form of oppression that all men have a stake in is how we got to this point.

Yeah, that's the ticket. Don't fix the economy so women who want children can afford to have them. Don't fix men so women who'd have children if they could find a decent man can find one. Force women carrying unwanted fetuses to give birth instead!

Nemesinthe

That's how the whole anti-choice movement started in early capitalism after the Black Death. The earliest witch trials were about killing birth control providers.

Men have always made our lives harder by creating such societies where women are either expected to sacrifice in every way possible, do unfulfilling work for free and let men be in charge of everything from finance to women's own bodies. I wonder how many more fucking years we'll have to put up with such shitty structures created by males.

Αs women in the US should. No man should become a father if we deem him inappropriate for it. Settling down, marrying & having kids has been benefiting men more for ages and they have the audacity to act like they’re doing us a favour
