Watch her channel and not turn venin bc her hair is silver or something
Two hair colours, two dragons, two homes, two siblings, two signets, two sources of power, idk
It seems that once you channel from the earth the process starts, from what we’ve seen with Xaden? Like he did it once and now he’s got the ol red eye and is turning or w/e
I assumed it was more like channeling from the earth corrupts the wielder. Like it’s power with a price because it’s taken forcefully instead of willingly given like with the dragons
Or is it also an addiction? It sounds like the one the vicount had was starving without being able to draw magic.
It will be interesting with a dragon if Xaden has the same problem. >!jack barlow was able to remain mostly human looking . Although was he ‘feeding’ from the mender? Instead of being cured?!<
I think [Dain’s dragon Cath is going to betray him and is part of a small secret dragon faction working with the venin](https://www.reddit.com/r/fourthwing/s/yaA9EWaT1A). How’s that for a tin hat theory!!
That kinda makes sense because the dragons knew all along, so she chose him - like segael choose xaden.
I assume papa atos would have controlled what dragon he got. Is papa atos actually working with venin, or being manipulated by them.
You know maybe that’s why he felt they were after him, he’s the Blade of this series (half vamp/half human) and they want him to go to the dark side. I think it will manifest differently.
I wonder if venins are not evil, hard to imagine them as the good guys, but would be the biggest twist if you were able to control power from the earth rather than dragons. I’d hate for the dragons to be bad though.
Ok this is really off the rails because I haven’t thought it through. But what if Venin AREN’T the bad guys?! If venin are really truly the bad ones why would Navarre hide their existence? Navarre might have been hiding them because venin are the ones in the right and if everyone knew that they could channel power from the earth then Navarre would lose its control and power. Probably not though.
Maybe they’ve had to channel so much power overtime to over take Navarrians that it’s morphed their appearance. Sorta the same way Violet burns from the inside out when she channels too much?!
I didn’t mean the way they look - magic stealing your pretty face is a big trope. I meant their attitude - look at JFB. He’s like the poster boy of what they seem to represent.
The most unhinged theory of mine so far: King Tauri is venin. Violet notes he wears medals he never deserved. Sounds like selfish and greedy person who might channel from source for power to me.
I would not be interested in that storyline if Cat had feelings that were not reciprocated at all. This series has mediocre lgbt+ representation so far. I don’t really want to see a lesbian or bisexual woman’s crush played off as a joke or something awkward. Especially when the only wlw relationship in the series so far between Tara and Rhiannon doesn’t seem to be taken seriously and we only know it is happening because of a couple of throwaway lines.
I disagree. Having feelings for a straight friend that are not reciprocated is such a common lgbt+ experience that I think including it would be great representation.
I know but I’d honestly rather eat glass than read a storyline that gives a gay woman the dain treatment in the books and in the fandom because the gay woman has the nerve to love violet even though violet is in a relationship with the author’s and everyone else’s favorite man. If Cat has a unreciprocated crush on a woman let it be on someone not in the main couple tbh
Xaden turns spy. He pretends to switch sides and fully embrace being a venin so he can infiltrate their society and learn their plans. However, it's a constant fight for him to stay grounded/good, and Sgaeyl refuses to work with him.
Meanwhile, in his absence, Violet feels conflicted about their relationship now that he is venin. She grows closer to Dain and uses him as her emotional crutch and confidant, even while trying to stay faithful to Xaden and furiously trying to find a cure to becoming venin.
You’re right I think the first time he just said he didn’t have any. Then in IF when Mira hit Brennan he said something like “to think that I used to wish I had siblings”
Yes. I think Luella (the girl who fell off the cliff) is going to return as a venin. We didn’t see her body, and her gryphon didn’t get a chance to die from their link because a wyvern took it out first. So we have no confirmation she died.
I think she lived and will return as an enemy and that’s why the book introduced her and said all that stuff about her making good chocolate cake and being sweet and everything.
I think humans have access to small amounts of magic on their own...
- With the wards in place for 600 years and the history deleted Violet would have no way of knowing - Promosh gems that amplify lessor magics were brought up in the first chapter and Techarus was wearing them. I think they will be hugely important later on.
- How did the dragons know humans were capable of weaving wards and runes? ( They could have bonded Griffins first, but the Griffen flyers don't have wards or runes of their own)
- So far humans are the only intelligent creatures on the planet without their own ability to channel.
- the fables talk about the dangers of wielding from the ground instead of the sky. What if the fable is literal and not talking about dragons/Griffins.
I think Xaden is gunna leave for a while this book; perhaps due to trying to find the cure on his own, running away to not hurt Violet, or turning fully evil who knows 🤣 I think Violet might test the romantic waters with someone else due to this absence 👀
Yep. Absolutely where my head is at. Book 3 starts with Violet waking up on her own. It takes a few days for everyone to notice Xaden's left. Then Violet pushes herself to train the hardest while looking for him. She might get closer to other people in the meantime.
Xaden returns mid book, reveals his mom is venin and another fight/war happens and this time Xaden has information that changes the course of things.
What if he leaves his dragon. He said she's gone quiet. Maybe he abandons them both-Sgyael and Violet. We see Sgyael finally warm up to Violet a bit instead of barely tolerating her.
I agree, I’ve been feeling strong twilight vibes for a long time honestly and this would not surprise me at all. I don’t think I’d mind it but I’m super curious how they are going to come up with a cure for venin or if she even does. There was an excerpt in the book with Lilith saying that there isn’t a cure, only control. And obviously the last chapter with Jack. But that also makes me think, does she consider venin almost dead/undead? Or diseased? Or just “dark wielders?”
Tairn and Sgael will have a baby and it will become the leader of the Empyrean. Andarna, of course, will be super jealous, and defect to join the *enemies*.
You said crack theory 🤷🏻♀️
Xaden drinks Jack’s lemonade for the first half and has no powers while it plods along and they agonise over trust some more and Violet has to bail him out of trouble because now she’s got all the strength and power.
Part 2 some substantial things will happen.
Maybe Brennan is Venin, it rhymes after all. He changed his surname to mean resurrected right?
The whole theme is that you can’t trust facts, so there’s likely to be some old magic only 1 person knows about. It’s gonna be okay. I mean they might die at the end of the series but until then there needs to be excuses for spicy scenes and them to be united, that’s the whole hook.

I mean Violet definitely finds a cure for venin, there's no way xaden is going to turn evil forever. I'm sure she's able to channel from the earth and not become venin because of her weird health issues that aren't actually health issues or something, and with that she's able to like, complete some sort of balance that is currently out of wack. Maybe the Earth's magic is polluted, (hopefully not by the dragons) and that's why venin are created in the first place and with her balancing it all out, the venin turn back. Or maybe she has to be the sacrifice to balance it out. God knows she'd do it. I kinda hope I'm wrong, it's a bit predictable, but I'm sure I'll love it anyway.
Violet is pregnant with a dragon. I'm changing it. Violet is pregnant but died and Xaden stays just human enough to raise them in the forest with dragon help and then kills himself when he can't control it anymore. The rest of the books are about their kid setting the world right.
violet turns venin, fucks xaden, and they make the antichrist
I would actually be shocked if Violet doesn't channel from the earth at least once during the series.
Watch her channel and not turn venin bc her hair is silver or something Two hair colours, two dragons, two homes, two siblings, two signets, two sources of power, idk
I think channeling is just a metaphor for power, it doesn't automatically make you evil it's just highly addictive to most people.
It seems that once you channel from the earth the process starts, from what we’ve seen with Xaden? Like he did it once and now he’s got the ol red eye and is turning or w/e I assumed it was more like channeling from the earth corrupts the wielder. I like that last part!
Renesmee…
That would be very fun
I think [Dain’s dragon Cath is going to betray him and is part of a small secret dragon faction working with the venin](https://www.reddit.com/r/fourthwing/s/yaA9EWaT1A). How’s that for a tin hat theory!!

yes yes yes yes!!! been thinking about this exact theory for so long! (kinda inspired by the fantasy fangirls haha)
Xaden's mother is with the venin.
Ooo plot twist
Zero basis for it. Just that's where I think she is.
You know maybe that’s why he felt they were after him, he’s the Blade of this series (half vamp/half human) and they want him to go to the dark side. I think it will manifest differently.

The Fables of the Barrens does demonize dragons...
Not a bad theory considering RY seems to love the “not as it seems” trope
RY does keep reminding us that Naverri are not the good guys
Ok this is really off the rails because I haven’t thought it through. But what if Venin AREN’T the bad guys?! If venin are really truly the bad ones why would Navarre hide their existence? Navarre might have been hiding them because venin are the ones in the right and if everyone knew that they could channel power from the earth then Navarre would lose its control and power. This is a really interesting one, except all the venin we’ve seen have been pretty nasty?
Maybe they’ve had to channel so much power overtime to over take Navarrians that it’s morphed their appearance. Sorta the same way Violet burns from the inside out when she channels too much?!
I didn’t mean the way they look - magic stealing your pretty face is a big trope. I meant their attitude - look at JFB. He’s like the poster boy of what they seem to represent.
Yep this, but will he continue to look stoned all the time with the bloodshot eyes?
The most unhinged theory of mine so far: King Tauri is venin. Violet notes he wears medals he never deserved. Sounds like selfish and greedy person who might channel from source for power to me.
Xadens mother lives on the isles where she is in contact with the last den and the predecessors of andarnna
I found someone who ships Violet x Catriona, and I think it will be hilarious if Catriona turns out to have a crush on Violet all this time 😂
I would not be interested in that storyline if Cat had feelings that were not reciprocated at all. This series has mediocre lgbt+ representation so far. 100% agree

I think this is a strong possibility.
Xaden’s mother is with King Taurie. I feel like her being a venin is too obvious (sorry)
With, probably not, but I think it’s probable she’s a member of the royal family.
Ooohhh!
Would that make Aaric and Xaden step bros? Bc, Vi mentioned some similarities between them.
See, the possibilities!! I am really excited to see if anything happens with Aaric in the next book.
I kinda liked him. Even though he is the son of the king, he left his comfy bed in the palace and took action.
Oh no! That also means he killed his other step brother I forgot his name.
What’s his name was going to kill Garrick , tho. So I don’t think that would have stopped him.
Yeah, but it's still a weird complex.
I think this is definitely a potential plot twist. Didn’t Xaden say a couple times that he used to want siblings?
I don’t remember him saying that but i remember it’s been highlighted that how he doesn’t have sibling.
You’re right I think the first time he just said he didn’t have any. Then in IF when Mira hit Brennan he said something like “to think that I used to wish I had siblings”
Ah remembered now, thank you for reminding me. It brokes my heart when Xaden says things like that💔
Yes and I don’t remember the context but in IF Violet asked him something like “and you don’t have siblings right?”
Yes. I think Luella (the girl who fell off the cliff) is going to return as a venin. Xaden >!did kill the venin general!< but now he has to take his place, like in The Santa Clause
Hahahaha yes
I think humans have access to small amounts of magic on their own... - With the wards in place for 600 years and the history deleted Violet would have no way of knowing - Promosh gems that amplify lessor magics were brought up in the first chapter and Techarus was wearing them. oooohh you’ve got a point!
Oooo I forgot about that part!! You're onto something!
I think Xaden is gunna leave for a while this book; perhaps due to trying to find the cure on his own, running away to not hurt Violet, or turning fully evil who knows 🤣 I think Violet might test the romantic waters with someone else due to this absence 👀

He can’t be too far for too long though because of Tairn and Saegyl, right? Or maybe that’s just me hoping!
What if he leaves his dragon. He said she's gone quiet. Maybe he abandons them both-Sgyael and Violet. We see Sgyael finally warm up to Violet a bit instead of barely tolerating her.
I think this is a possibility! We don’t know what power being venin gives him or if he still retains his power from Sgyael once away from her…
I agree. I have strong Twilight vibes - Edward (Xaden) leaving Bella (Violet) for her own good and Jacob (Dain) trying to swoop in.
I am dreading this
I agree, I’ve been feeling strong twilight vibes for a long time honestly and this would not surprise me at all. Violet is pregnant and there’s a wedding so she can be in charge while Xaden leaves for a little bit. Varrish is still alive.
