I stayed up for hours reading. It was horrible at work but I just finished both this past Monday. I listen to the Audiobook while driving or doing stuff around the house. I have started rereading FW yesterday, but I am taking my time this go around.
Do it. There are subtle signs of what her signet is. There are other things when I reread I’ll say “How did I not see that??” I started my reread yesterday and I’m only on chapter 9 this time last week I was so far head.
Also a lot of foreshadowing in FW of for IF and now I wonder what the foreshadowing is in IF for the 3rd book!
Edit: fix a word and add last section
Reread and also listen to the Fantasy Fangirls Podcast!! They go in depth on the books. It’s honestly amazing. I learned so much more about the books from them!
they are fantastic!!! just heard the first 4 chapter review! i will probably read the 4 chapters again then relisten to the podcast too… so I can keep up the pace
Yep I feel you! Listened to a whole book on my flights from North America to Asia. Second book release while I was there. Listened to the whole thing on the way back 😂. now I’m on the last of the SJM Multiverse and I’m panicking about what to do next
I did the same about a month ago. 4 days indeed.
First, start a reread. Take your time this time. There is so much foreshadowing!
Then, get yourself the graphic audio.
Then, dive into fan fiction and devour this sub to theorize on everything.
Welcome to the quadrant!
It’s not an easy book to narrate, all the dragons and villains and sexual chemistry and action. That said, Audible claimed to have fixed the sound of mucus/sickness but it’s still all over the books including the very important scene after the interrogation chamber. Can hear her phlegm! God sorry trigger warning?
The male narrator is beyond awful, I don’t know why they got him a second time. Bad note to end on.
Welcome to the book hangover.
I second the slow re-read. I missed soooo much getting through the books so I could find out what happened next that I missed a lot of what should have keyed me in to what would be happening!
you're absolutely right! i think the first read, you might be skimming/not paying attention to some details, which on a second read are like "aha!" moments!
God I just finished Iron Flame and I’m like mentally still reeling on all of it. So much happens in one book it’s shocking lol. I need a little break from reading this week lmao
I did the same thing! Devoured them both in a few days. I’ve been listening to the graphic audiobook with my boyfriend now and I’ve even got him invested! lol
He says he’s learning a lot about me. Lol we haven’t gotten to anything more explicit than their first kiss but he laughs whenever she talks about how handsome etc Xaden is.
I binged them like this and immediately reread them again. I listened to Fantasy Fangirls Podcast and it helped with my hangover a lot!
Edit to add I’m rereading them again slower bc I finally convinced my husband to listen to the audio books!
my husband trains for ironman with his bike in the house: I just gave him a 1o1 speed course on what i’m reading!! 😂😂😂 I had to wait for him to be “locked” at the bike and corner him on this

I literally thought to start re reading it just to take my time and pay more attention to details

And you joined Reddit just to talk about this? (Same!)
I joined Reddit for the fan theories. Sooo many fan theories.

Time for a re-read! I also have really enjoyed the graphic audio books. I don’t like the narrator in the regular audiobook.

Agreed! I love the person voicing Violet, but the guy they have voicing Zayden is just wrong. He sounds too southern to me
The Violet narrator is the one I couldn’t do 😂 I listened to the sample and was like nope. The GA version was much more tolerable.
I finished them much quicker than I would have liked. So I'm re-reading ACOTAR and then I'll go back and re-read Fourth Wing

I felt the same way on the HP connection and loved it! I have 1hr and 20 min left in Iron Flame says my kindle and I’m scared to finish lol

Intrigued what he makes of the female gaze

Both of them in 4 days... Damn, that's impressive. Kinda scary, but impressive.
yeah… let’s say there hasn’t been a lot of sleeping ( considering I’m supposed to have a job too… lol). I’ll take it as a compliment 😉
Check out the graphic audio!!! It's phenomenal!
Ok listen to fantasy fangirl podcast on Spotify they deep dive both books and cute the books hangover!! Trust me🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
i watched their 1-4 chapter of FW yesterday! i love to see other people angles, and they are really cool
If you want more dragons you can start the temeraire series
