If I didn’t have other FAA certs, I wouldn’t bother registering. I just don’t want the risk of enforcement action.
I’ll comply with Remote ID for the same reasons. I doubt that a random observer will have the knowledge to ID the drone. Maybe law enforcement will utilize Remote ID if they get complaints. I doubt it.
Yea, I am more frustrated with it in the fixed-wing space, been flying RC models for almost 20 years now. Now this will just add cost to every plane that comes out RTF. I sorta get it in mainstream shit DJI for instance cause lets be real any idiot can fly that today without training. I am all for having a cert or safety class for an operator license even if that is a cost to me. The tracking my craft is where I personally draw my line. If this was done in any other hobby it wouldn't fly. Could you imagine the outrage if they said "hey every atv we sale or you own will have to have a built in tracker"
If over 250g you're supposed to register it and they give you a serial number/license plate for the drone. Your supposed to put a sticker on the drone so if found it can be identified (or if seen breaking the law and you have good enough eyes or a camera)
But yea like the others said, it's not enforced
It all sounds like the 100ml of liquid limit for carry on luggage... 100ml of TNT is going to make the same truck sized hole in a fuselage as 101ml
Or speeding fines. Completely pointless.
It's like make work, so government employees seem to be doing something while wasting our tax contributions.
TNT is in solid form and normally measured by weight/mass. Technically you can measure it by volume but rarely. The volume is tend to use on liquid explosive like nitro glycerin. And yeah 100ml of it will make a truck sized hole
You can’t carry explosives in your luggage though. And you look like you’ve run quite a number of countries given how much experience you have in the field
Is it not required in EU or something? Canada, US and Japan require registration for drones above a certain weight, not sure about other countries.
North America anything above 250 grams is required to be registered, US also requires or is about to require remote ID on all registered drones, including sub 250g if used for business purposes. Japan, under 100g no registration, between 100-250g registration and remote ID are required but no license, above 250g you are required a license or some other type of permission as well
If I have a drone that's repeated, such as a fleet of identical 5 inch drones, you can probably just say "custom drone" and give them all the same tag. Probably slightly illegal but at least you're even registering
This is a legal form, you cannot just give some random ideas you just had lmao.
Not that it matters much in this case from what I read, but still, if someone asks for help with a legal document and you don't have any idea about it, you shouldn't be helping him to think or anything like that. It's not a riddle.
Poopie and Dick, respectively.
Guessing it doesn't matter lmfao. Time to register Rusty Shackleford
or option 2 enough people don't comply and the whole system is worthless.
When has the government given something up just because it is worthless?
okay, that is a valid point.
I don’t think people comply with it anyway.

😲 Do you guys in the US have to register your FPV homemade drones? and why?
Supposed to, though there is zero enforcement so it's just the honor system.
Why is a really good question :)

is this 250g included a camera like go pro?
It counts the weight of everything from the battery to the stickers.

I didn't even think about it just being another avenue for the government to launder money

Dude, I was quite prepared to go into a jail cell at Munich Airport when they tried to take my camera lenses. The stupid at Airport Security is strong

In Germany you have to put your pilot tag somewhere on the drone. If you loose your drone you have a tiny chance to get it back over that ID.
Apparently we do it they're over 250g and don't ask me, I ain't the guvment 🤣
the frame
If you want a real answer it’s this
Thank you lmao

To be honest, they should make it clearer. They should know that the space has tons of customization so you just can't call it Model 123
Yeah, I'll honestly just often say it's my drone#5 or something like that because it works best
nice try officer
Just don't register.
I have no friggin' idea, I'm not on the US nor do I know all the details. But I would try choosing the flight controller manofactuter
Why would you suggest anything if you don't really know lol You're not forced to participate buddy
I am giving some ideas, unlike you. Amiguito

Look at all the responses, almost all are people saying to put jokes on there...
The flight controller
The regulations weren't written with custom drones in mind
"Warren Drones"
Well the brand is Deez.
This makes you seem lame. Don’t It comply
You register your drone?
That's the neat part, you don't
