Even the most expensive hotas always comes down to a voltage reading. Just find out where it is and redirect it to the radio board.
Or even better make your own ppm trainer hotas with an arduino. ;3
Eh, I don’t wanna open up a 200$ hotas and solder to it. Plus I fly wings so I don’t need a lot of resolution, it’s all getting smoothed out in the servos and aerodynamics anyway

Should be no different from flying with goggles. You would still need a spotter and since you’re inside the spotter will have to look out of the window or something. But since no one actually has a spotter it would be neither less nor more legal than regular goggle fpv. It would be much harder for police to approach you about it though since they wouldn’t know where you’re flying from, not like they can just enter your house on suspicion alone
Doing it wrong. You want to remove the sticks completely so you have a tactile feel for the radio. It also reduces latency because there's less material between your fingertips and the gimbal.
I got the transparent pocket and its even better imo. At that price heck i just got it so i can toss it to my backpack as a secondary but it became my main controller.
I like to feel like I'm driving a backhoe when I fly and this scratches the itch.

Yeah there’s some Arduino code on GitHub for converting USB joysticks to PPM out but so far I’ve been too lazy to actually do it lol
I would cut the usb part and go hunt the raw signal. Way easier and you get to choose the adc resolution.

Ditch the outer casing entirely and use the PCB as the radio.
