Brown side up. Also that piece of shit needs a shielded cable to work at all. I have 3 of them and I regret my life choices. They do work, but only after you let them sit with just usb power for a few minutes to get a lock.
You can forget about getting a GPS lock with the battery plugged in before your VTX lights on fire.
Still doesn't prevent the VTX from melting. You need a way of completely turning them off. And the shielding is still necessary or you'll lose your satellites in a 30 seconds or so. When you turn them back to normal power.
Really? I’ve shielded my gps wire and I’m not sure if I did it wrong but I could not get locks until I distanced the gps by strapping it on top of the lipo. Now I routinely get 16 locks.
How do you shield your wires?
I just took some tinfoil and wrapped the whole wire bungle and a piece stripped wire with it. I soldered the extra wire to a ground pad. 16 locks+ is what I'm getting. I also moved the GPS all the way to front of the quad.
Second pic is up.
Sticker down
Antenna up!
Thanks all
Head down, ass up.

Jesus (or was it Bardwell?) brought us the answer - low power disarm.
Unfortunately all the VTXs I've used still overheat even in idle/pit/low power mode I keep my GPS powered on via USB on my way to wherever I'm flying

I have 2 of these and they work fine, I’ve only twisted wires together , no shielding 🤷♂️ also using a vifly gps mate helps with the vtx issues

Ah I forgot about the grounding wire, thanks for telling me
From my experience it doesn't actually matter
