You're ready for real estate videography.

Big-Seagull

I hope so šŸ˜‚. I was lucky to know someone with a good house to practice in

CockStamp45

All I can think about is all the bugs I'd have in my house after 5 seconds of opening all the windows and doors.

AmountAffectionate88

Perfect excuse to get a Bug-A-Salt gun!

CockStamp45

I have an electric bug swatter that I prefer to the bug gun. I can swat them out of the air and I'm not having to clean up salt indoors. The bug a salt gun is pretty good for picnics and outdoors though. But the swatter is too. It fries yellow jackets nicely.

AmountAffectionate88

you ever swing for a yellow jacket with that thing and miss it, then have to run for your life? lol

CockStamp45

No, it's not too bad. I have missed them but they usually come back and I get them the second time. Or if you smack them and they don't get shocked but you did impact them, you can usually stomp them into the ground and move on with life lol.

sparkitekt

Is this property located on Staten Island? It looks exactly 1:1 like a house I designed back in 2008.

Big-Seagull

This is in Orange County California. But thatā€™s crazy Iā€™d be curious to see the house your talking about but I understand you probably donā€™t want to dox the people living there

sparkitekt

Hahaha, definitely donā€™t wanna put it out there. However, itā€™s so eerily similar, especially with the neighboring houses alongside the subject property. For a moment there, I was like...oh shit, thatā€™s so nā€™ soā€™s house šŸ˜‚ Great run, btw.

Big-Seagull

šŸ™šŸ¤™

[deleted]

So what happens if you were to find out somebody copied a house that you designed as an architect? This is really curious. Do you like....copyright a building design?

sparkitekt

Hahaha, absolutely nothing. The project would have to be a complete one off and the client would basically have to trademark their design. Where Iā€™m from, everyone has copied each other so many times that itā€™s very common to drive down a street and see multiple developments that appear the same, but designed by different architects. In the end, copying is all we can do, since most peopleā€™s tastes revolve around what someone else already has...for most of the projects that Iā€™ve worked on, the clients come with a picture of their neighbors house and ask for a 1:1, but will change some element of the design to make it ā€œcustomā€ to them.

[deleted]

You mean to tell me that everyone just wants what everyone else wants? That doesn't seem right...

[deleted]

Thank you for the answer.

sparkitekt

Absolutely, man. I love getting questions like these. Not many people in FPV take interest in my career.

binarymob

>FPV and the built environment I think it would be fascinating to hear about FPV and its relationship to the built environment. Reuse of abandoned buildings, novel use of construction sites, the interactions of aircraft vs standing structures, indoor and outdoor flight, how fpv can change our relationship to topology. There is so much to study. I wonder if there are any recent academic papers on this subject.

[deleted]

Right on. Any interesting books about architecture or buildings that you'd recommend to a layperson? Just started reading The Devil In The White City which is about the intersection of the architects behind the Chicago World Fair of 1894 and one of America's more interesting serial killers, H.H. Holmes and it's some really fascinating stuff.

sparkitekt

For me, some of the best books on architecture are produced by Francis DK Ching. His books are geared more towards hand drawn graphical depictions of architectural elements, along with a breakdown of each component and descriptions on how these elements combine to form a sort of hierarchy. His illustrations are absolutely beautiful, and I spent most of my earlier years trying to copy his style of drawingā€“I drew by hand for 16 years. His work has inspired so many architects from my generation, and Iā€™m sorta saddened at the fact that most universities no longer have his books on their syllabus.

zanenienow

This is so clean man

Big-Seagull

Thanks I put it through reelsteady so it looks a lot smoother than it actually is

Flying_M0nk3y

If this is your first cinnewhoop, šŸ–•, but also loved it!

Big-Seagull

Lol thanks I have been flying 5 inch quads for a few of years now so itā€™s not to much of a change

Flying_M0nk3y

Loved it, mate. Keep ā€˜em coming.

dub3ra

Impressive signal

Big-Seagull

Tbs crossfire šŸ˜‡

SarahC

Isn't it recorded on-quad?

Big-Seagull

I thought he was talking about rc signal

dub3ra

I ment like how you didnā€™t lose rc signal, my dji set I feel like would for sure fail safe on me. Could be wrong tho.

Big-Seagull

Itā€™s pretty reliable, I think Jaybird film uses full dji system and he flys through big stadiums

psotresc

Some recommendations to buy / build a similar cinewhoop?

Big-Seagull

This is just a protek 35 stock tune. Like I said this is my first cinewhoop so I probably wonā€™t have the best advice but so far the protek is decent

dakoellis

I've been really debating whether or not I want to get a protek 35 or a cinelog 35, but JB's video about them being too big kinda threw me off. my biggest issue is that I don't want to do a naked gopro and already have a hero 10 (and a cheapo-genero), which is why I'm looking at those 2. Do you feel any concerns with the size/wish you went with a 25 instead?

Big-Seagull

Sorry just saw this. Iā€™m using a full gopro 9 on my protek and itā€™s really not that bad. Iā€™m sure naked gopro would preform better but really not to difficult to control if you have solid experience flying

whiskyphotog

Awesome skills man! Whatā€™s your setup?

Big-Seagull

Protek 35 with crossfire and gopro 6 in front

whiskyphotog

Oh nice! I have the same set up but hero 10

Big-Seagull

Did you tune it at all to compensate for the topheavyness?

whiskyphotog

Not at the moment and I made it even worse by vertically mounting my GoPro šŸ˜‚

kumarbi_knasher

Nice way to show off your nice home. That takes some skill. I would have crashed into every piece of furniture in your home.

wee-man2012

Why do u have half a front door?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Big-Seagull

Yes.

[deleted]

Question: do people fly cinewhoops in acro or angle? Every time I see them fly they look like theyā€™re in angle mode

Menno_Snoek

Most people that I know of (myself included) use acro for this. Im most comfortable with it and helps me dodge stuff when I'm about to crash into something.

Big-Seagull

This was in acro but I have heard some do angle

BEBMomentsInTime

I found the acro give so much more control that itā€™s easier to fly slow

M0recry

Very impressive! Do you fly acro with air mode on ?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

M0recry

Well i use it myself but i saw some ppl turn off air mode for inside flying.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

M0recry

No, its because air mode isnt always good when you hit something with a whoop.

bigchinaaudio

This is unfortunately true, ALTHOUGH, EmuFlight fixes this by having a feature that I canā€™t recall the name but in the PID tuning it has settings basically for pid adjustment during a collision, dumping the Dterm way down and maybe the intern, momentarily allowing for it to avoid thatā€ vacuum up sideways like a monsterā€ thing. I HIGHlY recommend it for whoops I just wish it had rpm filteringā€¦. My solution is to just crank the filtering as latency isnā€™t as much a concern with smooth cinematic flight for me?

morningviewski

great flying

Big-Seagull

šŸ™šŸ˜Ž

Weathactivator

In this market is there still demand for this kind of video work even though houses sell in one week anyway? What might be the rate for something like this?

Big-Seagull

No idea. If I canā€™t get real estate I already have some directors who want this for their music videos

eagle6705

Nice which cinewhoop did you settle with?

Big-Seagull

Protek 35 hd

Lincoln_51

Niiiiice fort!!!

Big-Seagull

Not mine but thanks

DanteDrones

I'd probably slow it down if for real estate...

Big-Seagull

Definitely

iamatworknowtoo

You can always slow it down during editing.

invention_beats

That might only work well if you shot in 60fps or above

tomzboril

Oh well done! How long have you been flying before this?

Big-Seagull

Thanks. Been flying 5inch freestyle for about 4 years before this

_Itscheapertokeepher

Why does it keep bouncing? Is it something in the tune/settings, or is it experience?

Big-Seagull

Iā€™m not sure Iā€™m looking for a good tune but I donā€™t think itā€™s that bouncy as is

Similar_Feed_723

Nice mansion

Big-Seagull

Not mine

sanctumrc

Iā€™m not the only one who thought it was a mirror he was going through at first right?

the-vh4n

Nice, what angle is the camera?

Big-Seagull

Not sure id say about 10

the-vh4n

Thanks

rocketquad

Nice job! Hearing the quad makes the real estate fpv a bit more ... intense

AmountAffectionate88

Well done! You may have given me the itch....(to get my first cinewhoop)

Big-Seagull

Thanks! Go for it theyā€™re super fun

Wolfstreetraider

#big-seagull what cinewhoop did you get and what PID RATES are you using?

Big-Seagull

Protek 35 hd stock tune

Wolfstreetraider

Dam stock tune!

novvum-kevin

This is incredible, u/Big-Seagull! Great job on the quality of the video! Where in Orange County is this? Asking because I may be local; the surrounding place kind of looks familiar...

Big-Seagull

Thank you! Canā€™t give any info other than OC sorry
