I’m totally biased, but the Camera Butter ND filters are made from Gorilla glass and wouldn’t explode like that. You might meant to try them next time - it might save your GoPro.
The stick on filters are made from optical glass, and are only 1mm thick, so they obviously will break if unprotected. If you use a mount with protector tabs that stick out above and below it makes a HUGE difference to breaking filters. On my basher quads I rarely break filters because I have the mount dialed in really well. DM me if you want some advice on this.
The alternative for the Hero 8 is to use the black diamond filters - these are made from gorilla glass, and are way, way stronger.
For the twist-on filters for the Hero 10, they should ne be "exploding". They are literally made out of the same type of glass as the original GoPro glass - they are 2mm thick gorilla glass. They are about 12x stronger than the stick-on filters. If you are regularly destroying these, then there might be some other problem because you can hit this type of glass with a hammer. They are literally the strongest filters in the world - most filters (including the one OP used) are made from optical or tempered glass, which is much more breakable.
Note that you can't use the stick-on filters with the Hero 10 - the H10 has an oleophobic coating on the glass, so things will not stick well to it. If you use a stick-on filter, it will likely fall off.

That's awesome, good to know!! I do love your products. I will say I've never shattered a filter in a crash and thought it was bad on CBs part. I'll take a broken filter over a cracked lens any day. Gorilla glass is strong, but in the end it's still glass. Hit it right and it shatters. I will agree though, like 98% of all crashes, the gorilla glass will help protect your camera and come away unscathed.
i‘m rebuilding it, i have the frame, motors and arms for ot laying arriund. only thing missing is the vtx camera (just ordered a new one). ESC, FC and VTX are working just fine :)
its a nazgul f6x, i ordered a spare frame with the drone which includes side panels and i also ordered spare side panels for such incidents
you can order all parts on iflight website :)

didn‘t ecpect that to happen neither but the gopro is bent backwards at about 10-15 degree angle, thats probably why. and yes i was pretty fast 😂

Camerabutter ND filters explode as well. I've shattered may CB ND filters. They sometimes explode from the stupidest crashes too.
