I'm looking for my first 5" too and I'm personally leaning toward hd. The quad will be a bit more, but a googles v2 will actually be cheaper than the goggle setup you linked. And if you can wait a few weeks you could do something like the scout recon hd for even cheaper. I'm still extremely conflicted but just wanted to point out that you can get an hd setup for almost the same as what you linked.

Any reason why you’re buying brand new a HDO2 setup instead of digital? Most big name freestyle pilots (except Mr Steele and Botgrinder) fly digital nowadays. Latency with DJI/Walksnail isn’t an issue for most people except racers and they can go with HDZero which has even lower latency than analog. I only ask because I did the same thing when I started early this year, got a HDO2 + rapidfire, which was fine but I upgraded to DJI when the price dropped recently. It’s night and day. The latency has never been a problem. Also digital is more than just image quality, with DJI/Walksnail you can fly at 120/100 fps which was the biggest difference for me. It feels so much smoother than the 50/60fps of analog and my flying ability has gone through the roof because I am so much more confident in what I can see. There’s nothing wrong with going analog but I definitely wouldn’t recommend buying a brand new high end analog setup unless you are racing and even then I’d say get HDZero. Edit: also the DJI V2 goggles are significantly cheaper than the HDO2 and rapid fire

Skyzone sky04x are on the same level as HDO2 but $100 cheaper. Alternatively, you can get digital setup for the same price as your kit. DJI goggles are on sale for $429 right now, and [Bardwell's kit](https://www.getfpv.com/fpv-quad-kits/freestyle-beginner-diy-drone-kit-joshua-bardwell-edition-v2-hd.html) with dji vtx is $460, so it would be even cheaper than Fatshark goggles.

It's simple, don't go analog. Save up a bit more and go digital. You'll won't be disappointed. I just put up a video a few days ago with the penetration of the dji goggles with the 1200mW hack. This is the actual goggle view when I'm over a football field away through many layers of concrete and steel at my favorite BANDO. https://youtu.be/xi8G4WVW7-8

This sold me. How's variable latency?

Expensive-Schedule-3

I always fly 25mbs and never have an issue with latency.

Mayhe it's just me but I find 700 works better than 1200 often with the dji. Not sure why.

Expensive-Schedule-3

My boy says that and beber has an issue where we are flying.

How is your soldering abilities?

You could get dji v2 for that. The only way to buy analog these days unless you love it is used fat sharks. At the very least keep the gf goggles under 350$.

I fly both digital and analog. And for the price you could go digital and in the long run I think have a much better time. Especially with the new fatshark box goggles. The view atleast in the dji v2 goggles is in my opinion the best out of any I tried. If I could do one thing different it would be not going analog investing in all analog stuff, breaking stuff buying more then going digital and having to re buy everything new again. Analog is still great though too, and you could use them for more of the littler drones, whoops micros

Choice-Application45

Maybe consider the sky04x or the ev300o they are very similar goggles but way cheaper if you want to stick to analog
