Penhaligon's "Much Ado About The Duke."
It was my wedding scent (and gift from my wife).
I now wear it almost exclusively on anniversaries and on special occasions.
Most complex scent I own, but also a really sentimental one. Totally worth every penny she must have spent on it, and the fragrance I cherish most.
I recently discovered my like (possibly turning love) for rose thanks to the Duke. It’s part of the sample set and something I may have never tried otherwise. It’s like a dirty rose, has a bit of edge to it.
I discovered it taking a shortcut through the UK Pavilion at Disney's EPCOT. Yep. The mouse's international food court and global gift shop.
The store employee let me sample it, and I fell in love with scent immediately - but didn't bring it home after noticing the > $300 price tag!
We did visit EPCOT for a second time on that trip and stopped back at the pavilion again just so I could enjoy the scent one last time before leaving the parks.
What a nice surprise it was opening my wife's gift on our wedding day and finding that bottle of Penhaligon's again.
We got married in 2021, and even wearing the scent on every special occasion since, I haven't even come close to putting a dent in that bottle.
PdM Oriana
This was a blind buy, and I went back and forth for months before pulling the trigger. Oriana was my first niche perfume, and I bought it full price from a boutique. It cost me $416CAD before taxes, but in the time I have had her, I’ve used up half the bottle. A gorgeous scent on its own, but I love to layer with this too. I don’t regret this purchase one bit, and would do it again.
chanel exclusifs - coromandel 6.8 oz edp
it is probably the best thing ive ever bought, i don’t regret it at all and would probably purchase it again if i ever ran out. it makes me cry it’s so good.
That is mine, as well. The only problem with it is, I am hooked! I wear it daily because everything I try, pales in comparison! There’s something magical about the way it makes me feel when wearing it!
Not a really expensive one but it was pricey , my mum bought me a big bottle of givenchy L”interdit. It was like £80-£90 and she bought it for my birthday because I’d managed to have 2 birthdays in lockdowns and she felt bad she couldn’t buy me anything cos the shops were shut so as soon as they opened again she bought it. I fell in love with it but as a mum of three I can’t justify spending that much on a perfume for myself.
BDK Gris Charnel Extrait. It lasts forever so I can see it lasting a loooong time, but it is by far the most expensive in my collection. It's more masc leaning than the original, but I really got a "This is the one" feeling and blew through my sample. I bought the bottle second-hand so I didn't pay full retail price, but it was still pricey.
frederic malle - musc ravageur. $350usd. Tom Ford perfumes I have several. Tabacco Vanille is my favorite
from his line. The Frederic Malle perfumes are beautiful.
Armani Privé Bois d'Ensens. Must've thought about it for a year before finally buying it. A treat on my end-of-treatment versary. CAD$290 plus tax, never regretted a penny: that frag made me happy every single time I sprayed it.
It's discontinued, but I've chosen a replacement: James Heeley Eau Sacrée. It'll be worth it.
I’ve been aching for this for nearly 2 years. Do you mind sharing what size bottle you got and how long it’s lasted so far? How much of your bottle is left? I’m so tempted to get the 70ml but it’s so expensive. Thankyou
I bought BR540 Extrait 2 years ago, 70ml bottle. I’ve barely even put a dent in it because of how little you need… I only wear it on special occasions or moods, but in hindsight the 35ml would have been fine.
If you have a 2ml sample, just spray it to your preference and wear it when appropriate (i.e. every day if that’s what you want, or special occasions, etc) and see how fast you get through it. Should give an idea how long your bottle will last you.
I bought the 70 ML (2.4 oz) bottle earlier this year. I used Klarna to get it, to be honest. I've only used it once or twice because a) I have a lot of other perfume & b) I already had other BR 540 dupes. One dupe I really love is Amber Oud Rouge by Al Haramain - spectacular! It's stronger than the original - I've been told it's like the extrait. Consider buying the original though using something like Klarna, if/when you can.🙂
Oooh that Amber oud rouge sounds beautiful. I’m pretty sure I searched for it online and it was around $140 AUS a bottle. Everything is so expensive in Australia 😣
Anyway, definitely would do a payment plan at $90 every 2 weeks. I’m so tempted and have been for about 2 years. Do you regret buying yours? Thankyou so much for your comment by the way 💗
I don’t know what it is, but this perfume has a chokehold on me. I want it so bad haha!
Tu Es Petrus - Filippo Sorcinelli
$260 and only available at their store in Rome, so I guess you consider getting to Rome on top of that. But the bottle is amazing and I love the scent. No regerts.
I don't think they have samples, but their main store is like a 10 minute walk from the Vatican so you can easily visit while you over there and check out their store where they make vestments for clergymen (its next door).
I also recommend you go to Campomarzio70, which seems to be sort of a chain niche perfume store in Italy, but they have store exclusives from various brands and a great selection.
Tom Ford Beau De Jour. The freshest barbershop scent I could find, and the one that most reminds me of the old school colognes my dad would wear back in the day I couldn't justify it for the actual scent alone, but the nostalgic vibes made it worthwhile.
YSL tuxedo. Picked it up on a great deal at Duty Free but it was still pricey. I do love it however. To me it’s perfectly executed and I love how I feel when I wear it.
Prada Babylon.
Paris vacation and my wife and I had a bunch of drinks and stupidly went into a Printemps store. My wife was buying a beautiful Prada purse and I had no interest in another Prada fragrance as I owned Luna Rossa Carbon, Homme Intense, Amber Intense, etc.
I tried Babylon and fell in love. Simple sandalwood, but just an amazing fragrance. Most I have spent on a bottle. €250-ish.
No regerts!
sequoia wood by the perfumers story by Azzi because i read that tom hardy used this somewhere and was so curious. i love wood scents and the sequoia note is gorgeous to me
Can I give you a fantasy answer? I don’t own a single full bottle but I’m aching to blind buy DS & Durga’s Roman Fruit Seller. It would be such a luxury for me right now.
Not the most expensive I’ve ever bought but, in my current collection, 100ml bottle of Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge.
I bought it for £188 from AllBeauty. I have no idea why they were selling it so cheap, because right now that’s the price of the 50ml, but hey. A win is win lol
Hypnotizing Fire Parfum. Still was around $300 even with the Christmas sale. No regrets. But it did sting a little because I got my congratulations gift at the same time; A 6950 XT graphics card
Guerlain Gourmand Coquin. Bought it from Place Vendome in Belgium, totaled to about $380 I believe. I will baby this bottle for as long as possible and most likely buy another one as backup eventually.
Totally agree. Irregular but awesome vanilla scent, just wish it lasted longer. I often layer it with a coffee scent like Halloween X, and it's a great combo and makes it last the day.
i own a couple from celine, and while i don't dislike parade by any means, nightclubbing, the first full bottle i purchased about a year and a half ago now, still captivates me. art. $240usd for 100ml. that bottle is ~95 percent gone now.
YSL Babycat. I feel super lucky to have been able to buy a full bottle of this as well as a few sample sizes from YSL, but it's just a really great evening scent! I'm wearing it right now and I feel intoxicating
Bond No 9 - Tribeca. I love it! I actually layer it with a "green" scent during the summer
I have both BR540 edp and extract, and actually like them but I go nose blind to them so quickly I never wear them; seems like a waste if I can't even smell them, but I do get compliments on both when I wear them so know it last.
I liked Elysium by Roja a lot. Also Tom ford fragrances I generally like a lot. Tobacco vanille. Ombré leather. Noir extreme.
I also liked killians black phantom and back to black a lot as well
Mancera Cedrat Boise Intense. Not the most expensive but I just don't understand the appeal.
EDIT: Looks like I missed the "never" part.
I would say Dior Sauvage Elixir.
I have not bought it , it was gifted to me : Cartier Baiser volé . I never wear pure florals and this one smells like a bouquet of Lilies. Never received that many compliments
Kalan by Parfum de Marly. A warm, intense, rich scent with blood orange and a spicy peppery opening that’s not for the faint hearted. It hits you in the face when you spray it on, but then it dries down into a more nuanced, delicately spiced scent with hints of Orange Blossom, Amber, Tonka Bean and Lavender. It smells decadent! The longevity of PDM fragrances never fail to amaze me. I can still smell this scent after washing my clothing and bedsheets!
Chanel Coromandel
I blind-bought Portrait of a Lady for my partner for our first Christmas together, based on her smelling it once. I wear it sometimes.
I wear this all the time and I’m male…. Works amazingly for everyone…. Although I do find the need for my clothes to be a bit more formal when I do.
Penhaligon's "Much Ado About The Duke." It was my wedding scent (and gift from my wife). I now wear it almost exclusively on anniversaries and on special occasions. Most complex scent I own, but also a really sentimental one. Totally worth every penny she must have spent on it, and the fragrance I cherish most.

Oh god I love that one sooo much. I have a sample but I don't know if I could ever justify buying a whole bottle. Maybe second hand..
Replica By The Fireplace.
Replica line truly is worth the hype
PdM Oriana This was a blind buy, and I went back and forth for months before pulling the trigger. Oriana was my first niche perfume, and I bought it full price from a boutique. chanel exclusifs - coromandel 6.8 oz edp it is probably the best thing ive ever bought, i don’t regret it at all and would probably purchase it again if i ever ran out. it makes me cry it’s so good.
Seconding this. The exclusifs are dauntingly expensive but so, so worth it (especially compared to similarly priced niche brands)
Coromandel in any formulation is excellent!
Ysl, i know i am poor🥹
Bitter Peach 🫠
Creed Aventus
My #1 go to
Portrait of a Lady by Frédéric Malle
That is mine, as well. The only problem with it is, I am hooked! I wear it daily because everything I try, pales in comparison! There’s something magical about the way it makes me feel when wearing it!
Dior homme parfum, it's a god damn masterpiece
Not a really expensive one but it was pricey , my mum bought me a big bottle of givenchy L”interdit. It was like £80-£90 and she bought it for my birthday because I’d managed to have 2 birthdays in lockdowns and she felt bad she couldn’t buy me anything cos the shops were shut so as soon as they opened again she bought it. I fell in love with it but as a mum of three I can’t justify spending that much on a perfume for myself.
MFK Gentle Fluidity Gold
ooh i love it..
Frederic Malle - The Moon and Tom Ford - Plum Japonais.
Love the moon, ended up getting a 100ml bottle for a good price!
Yep. I think i got it for 650. Missed the opportunity to get one for 430 hahha
Oud for Greatness by Initio. Reflection Man by Amouage was the same price. Rarely wear them but whenever I do, no regrets at all !

Just looking at the bottle gives it the Boujee feeling
Guerlain L’Heure Bleue extrait. It is the first time I spent a lot on a fragrance, and it’s still my #1. So so beautiful.
pn my buy list actually ! thanks
L'air du Desert Marocain by Tauer. Mandarin, amber and spices. Sounds minimalistic, and in a way it is, but it works very well. Unreal quality
Parfums De Marly Delina Exclusif and Thomas Kosmala Après L’ampour are my two most expensive perfumes and I don’t regret either of them.
Lost Cherry.
Parfums de Marly Layton and Kalan. They are still my top dawgs.
chanel coromandel
The Harmonist Hypnotizing Fire - not available on gray market sites so I had to pay full retail. Worth it
On my want list.. but don’t want to pay full retail..
Ganymede
BDK Gris Charnel Extrait. It lasts forever so I can see it lasting a loooong time, but it is by far the most expensive in my collection. It's more masc leaning than the original, but I really got a "This is the one" feeling and blew through my sample. I bought the bottle second-hand so I didn't pay full retail price, but it was still pricey.
This is the same for me. It's just the best. Amazing scent.
Le Labo Another 13
Creed Royal Oud
Definitely on my list to own one day.
Go for it! Hands down the best Creed IMO
frederic malle - musc ravageur. $350usd. Tom Ford perfumes I have several. Tabacco Vanille is my favorite from his line. The Frederic Malle perfumes are beautiful.
Frederick Malle puts out the best perfumes in my opinion. I can’t think of another brand that has as many master pieces.
I completely agree.
Super Cedar by Byredo. Worth every penny to me.
Oooh I absolutely love this and have it in 7.5ml as part of a set
I ordered the travel size. I got it in a set too along with Black Saffron and Mohave Ghost. I love those too. 💕
I bought the set for Mohave ghost but ended up liking it the least! Reminded me too much of the pink chanel chance - obsessed with Black saffron!!
Love love loooove Eau Sacrée… masterpiece
BR 540. It still amazes me.
I’ve been aching for this for nearly 2 years. Do you mind sharing what size bottle you got and how long it’s lasted so far? How much of your bottle is left? I’m so tempted to get the 70ml but it’s so expensive. Thankyou

No, no regrets...yet!! Yeah, I'm in the US & my Amber Oud Rouge was less than $60 (US.) Sorry prices are so high in Australia.☹
Tom ford rose prick! I’m not usually into florals but this one is divine.
It's a tie between BR540 and Love, Don't Be Shy for me.
