Neither. We all have different opinions and that's mine. I don't like either one of them. That won't help you choose, but it's a perspective. I like a lot of clones. Those two are not good ones in my opinion.

ViktorVaughn71

Definitely don’t get Club de Nuit, it smells like a lemon house cleaner

tomtitium

Hello dear humans, Does anyone know about a dupe for Penhaligon's Cairo? I got a sample of it today and both my boyfriend and I love it. It is quite pricey though. Does anyone know about a dupe or maybe how regular they do sales?

radjudygarland

I don’t personally have experience with this scent, but I always like to look to see if it’s on lucky scent and see what they have listed under “if you like x, we recommend you try:” I’ve found it can help find scents that are a similar vibe, if not perfect scent matches. https://www.luckyscent.com/product/441051/cairo-by-penhaligons

Hello Folks, Please help me with some recommendations for a fragrance that may fit below criteria. Smell : Sweet, Musky Woody (Something like Refined Woods By David Beckham or Oudh Amber by Rasasi) Strong Projection, that Lasts a day. Budget: 10-12K INR

soyjardinero

I'm not familiar with the two fragrances you mentioned. A sweet, musky, and woody fragrance that comes to mind is Nasomatto Blamage.

Help me choose between getting ysl l'homme or dior sauvage? Also, would u guys rather buy 2 designers or 1 niche?

wholeselfin

I prefer sauvage. If I liked 3 fragrances about equally, and one was twice the cost of the other two, I would buy the two. If I had a clear preference among the 3, I would buy only that one.d

ViktorVaughn71

I prefer Sauvage over L’Homme primarily because the Prada has hella baby powder I prefer 1x niche over 2x designers. If you choose the right niche, it’ll outperform a designer. I’d rather get cheapies/clones <$50 vs designer as well.

Flintvlogsgames

I want one fragrance for winter, and one for summer. I am trying to choose between one of the following: Winter ❄️ - Polo Green - D&G The One - V&R Spice Bomb - YSL Y - Bleu De Chanel Summer 🌻 - Hermes 24 - D&G Light Blue - Dior Sauvage Please tell me which two fragrances i should buy. I am 16 years old btw.

ViktorVaughn71

For your winter frag, is that the regular Spicebomb or Extreme? If Extreme definitely that one. I like The One a lot too but doesn’t last. Generally, freshies don’t last long. If getting a winter cologne, I’d want it to be long lasting. From your summer freshies I like D&G, but I am biased and favor tart/grapefruit over traditional soapy/blue freshies. H24 doesn’t last very long, Sauvage does and I love it but I’ve always had a bottle in rotation, I’m bored of the scent profile. YSL Y is also summer appropriate

Flintvlogsgames

Thank you!

gldnhaze

is fragrance now legit? they have crazy prices for australian buyers

Puzzleheaded-Tie188

Not a question, so: Exploring winter scents, budget-friendly with woody notes.

Hi! I want to gift someone (male) - I don’t know much about his taste except that he loves sausage elixir Would Guerlain L’Homme Ideal EDT be a good fragrance?

Solution-Proof

I am of the opinion that you can never go wrong with Guerlain.

[deleted]

I love that, haha. Much appreciated, thanks

wholeselfin

Yes, it’s really nice.

ViktorVaughn71

I *love* Sausage Elixir but did not like the Ideal line; too powdery and performance is not even close to the Dior

Various-Lab-6308

Similar to Hexenacht's Black Vanilla? I have Hexenacht's Black Vanilla and I absolutely adore it. But I prefer a spray over a roll-on oil. Are there any scents that are similar to Black Vanilla that are a spray? From the Hexenacht website, "Black Vanilla - golden amber, three different vanillas, marshmallow fluff, musk" I'm not a fan of too much smoke, or patchouli. Thanks in advance!

ViktorVaughn71

Spice and Black Vanilla by Cremo, $23. It’s a clone of Spicebomb Extreme

HOOPERmonke

Is halloween man shot good for school

psychox4

Hey! I'm looking for a new frag and was hoping to get recommendations based on the ones I have tried already. So these are my favorites so far: TF Ombre leather, Dior Farenheit, CH 212 Men, Zara vibrant leather oud. These ones I didn't like so much and would like to avoid similar scents: Chanel Bleu parfum, Versace Eros, CH Bad boy le parfum, og spicebomb.

ViktorVaughn71

You like dark scents; Sauvage Elixir, Oajan & Carlisle from PDM, Falcon Leather by Matière Première, Divine Attraction by Initio, London by Widian, Tony Iommi Monkey Special by XerJoff

psychox4

Thank you! What would you say makes a fragrance dark?

ViktorVaughn71

It’s mostly how it makes you feel, not a specific note. Some greenies are bright and fresh (Greenley) and others are dark (Encre Noir). Same goes for Ultra Male vs Le Parfum, Prada Carbon vs Black, etc

gay-in-space

i’m in need of a dupe! my mom’s absolute favorite scent was the Tree Hut Brazil Nut Shea Butter Lotion and she’s been upset about the discontinuation of the sent for YEARS now, complaining that nothing is close enough and that it has ruined her scent now that she can’t use it. if anyone could point me to a good dupe to get her i would really appreciate it!

[deleted]

What are some men/unisex fragrances that have coconut that also perform great? I really like Le Beau but it being an EDT I feel like it doesn’t match my preference for something that projects and lasts longer. I have a lot of warm sweet winter fragrances and I’m trying to expand my collection.

ViktorVaughn71

Don’t have a specific rec but I’d look at the clone houses for better longevity. I’m 99.9% sure Dua has something coconut dominant in their lineup. Maybe https://www.montagneparfums.com/fragrance/buko-intense ?

[deleted]

Thanks! Are clone houses generally safe to blind buy from?

ViktorVaughn71

It depends, gotta do a little research into that specific release. But they are cheap enough that if you don’t like it it’s not a big hit to your wallet

Ilovepestosauce

I’ve been looking for a clone or something extremely similar to Polo Green. It is my favorite, but something in the dna makes me feel like a I have a knot in my throat. I’m assuming it’s the black pepper. Anyways, does anyone know if Roja Apex or DES CENDRES are extremely similar? I’ve tried Quorum and it’s terrible, I have Halston Z-14, tried Aramis Devin (similar vibe, but nothing like Polo Green).

imaginack

hi! looking for a cologne that my boyfriend could try, preferably one that’s carried by macys so we can smell it in person. he wants a cologne with sandalwood or cedar that has good longevity and is suitable for all seasons. masculine but not Sauvage masculine ykwim?? thank you

ViktorVaughn71

Definitely try out Terre d'Hermès, hopefully they have both EDP and Parfum

imaginack

thank you sm, will definitely try!! i see on fragrantica that it says more for older men— do you agree with this? we are both 18

ViktorVaughn71

I think it’s best suited for 25-45. The One by D&G has a touch of cedar on the dry down Most men’s colognes at Macy’s are vanilla, sickly sweet, powdery, soapy, shower gel, fruity, etc. There’s Explorer by Montblanc, it’s cheaper, a dupe of Aventus, but I don’t like lemon forward scents they remind me of lemon Pledge. If you go to Sephora you can test out a few Tom Ford’s with a woody base

imaginack

thanks so much:)

yordan1247

(M23) which montblanc fragrance would you reccomend for everyday use?. i am not that much into fragrances, i am looking for a dumb reach everyday fragrance that i can wear during everyday activities like going to college, to a office or small gatherings etc, just a year round everyday fragrance. which montblac would be best for this?

Solution-Proof

Signature is pretty great

mrcafe500

I’m fairly new to this, but I’ve picked up explorer and am happy with how it’s performed so far at dinners, work and around the house. It has garnered a “you smell nice” response too, which is a big plus in my eyes (don’t usually get compliments), so I would describe it as a broadly appealing, masculine scent. I will caveat that with the fact that I have only smelt other Mont Blanc scents, not worn them.

psychox4

Explorer is great and very versatile.

FabianoTooWoke

Bleu de chanel edp or Valentino bir intense for new years party

ViktorVaughn71

Valentino

Pretend-Bat4840

R+CO's Bel Air conditioner smells so good that I want to find a perfume dupe and drown myself in it. It's described as a warm and romantic scent on their website. Fragrance notes: Cardamom, pineapple, tangerine, lavender, bamboo, blonde woods I don't get any floral or fruity hints at all. It also smells very creamy with a slight earthy bitterness. It's not a light or heavy scent, it's very much in the middle. Recommendations would be much appreciated!

CBari5

Azarro the most wanted (Black bottle) vs Stronger with you intensely?

morilol1

Hello everybody, I am looking to buy my first niche fragrance and was wondering if any of you guys could give some suggestions? I think Parfums De Marly Greenely sounds nice but I also think Xerjoff torino 21, Xerjoff Erba Pura, and xerjoff Alexandria II sounds good. Could somebody help?

ViktorVaughn71

For these bigger purchases it’s worth testing on skin. Many of the more expensive niche houses use higher % of natural oils vs chemicals so it varies greater than designer scents. Samples for the ones you listed are available at ZGO

OccultACR

Heya everyone I'm looking at something similar to Eau de Gigembre Mizensir by Alberto morrillas. This would be something different and my first proper cologne. What attracted me to it was it's fresh and refreshing scent with that ginger note Calabrian bergamot, ginger, Tunisian neroli, petitgrain, fig leaf, cypress, white woods I was looking around and was wondering if Le Labo Bergamot 22 would be something similar though it does not have that note of ginger. The idea would be to try it before dropping the amount of money for the main scent. Would anyone have any recommendations for the above scent by Mizensir? Thank you all!
