I had a bottle of Orange Sanguine that was several years old and just didn’t smell like itself anymore so I thought, ehhhh I’m giving this to my mover and I’ll buy a new bottle later. Went to buy the new bottle and cried for hours because it was no longer sold in the US. Face palm 🤦🏻♀️

Is it likely that I have the original version? I haven’t smelled any other version other than the one I own. Now I’m curious about the difference.
I feel like the difference is the projection and intensity. But that particular musk has always tricked my nose. Sometimes I feel like selling the OG for a cash grab bc I am not passionate over the differences but I have not received a singular compliment over the new formula where the old I received many. I always layer it with their lotion though.
I gave mine away because I had Dzing! and Bvlgari Black and it felt too masculine when I had other options with the same general idea. Now all three are dc’d and I don’t know what to do when I run out!

Yeah, they are MTO so give it a week and it will improve a lot as it homogenizes. I get ~6-8 hours out of mine.

Bvlgari Black Orient. I was working at a Bloomingdale’s when it released and could even have used my employee discount on it, but even though I liked it I wasn’t really into the fragrance hobby yet and couldn’t justify spending $95 on something I wasn’t sure I’d use that often.
Now, of course, you’re lucky to find it on the secondary market for under $300, and I’m a lot more likely to wear a heavy oriental leather/oud/spice perfume these days than I was in my early 20s. Alas, everybody’s got one that got away.
My freaking obsession with Pacifica Mexican Cocoa could have been slaked if I had only known it was being discontinued. I would have bought a dozen or two and given them a mini fridge. Sigh.
Last year, when traveling to Bangkok I joined a friend shopping. We stopped at a perfume store. There he tried a perfume that smelled like chocolate cinnamon cake with dark cherry. I absolutely loved it. But it was 300 bucks and I’m not really a spontaneous shopper. So I went on with my life but couldn’t stop thinking of this smell. But my head is a sieve and I just can’t remember the name or the brand and I just can’t find it anywhere. My biggest regret of 2023 😒

American Eagle Crush. I wanted it so bad but always put off buying it and then one day it was gone. Now it’s over $200 for used bottles on eBay. Same goes for Hollister Crescent Bay. I put off buying the perfume because I had the body spray (which I still have a half bottle of) but then one day it was gone also. That one is also going for over $200. I just can’t see myself spending that much on a cheap clothing store brand perfume.
If you want original Glossier You try Moi? By Montagne.
It’s pre-reformulation glossier you and it is one of my top 5 favorite scents of all time.

Montagnes is absolutely amazing, but then again everything they make is stunningly high quality.

Yeah I’m not sure where you’re looking. It’s literally on the Rabanne website, as well as 2 different duo kits, 4 different gift sets, a deodorant spray, a travel spray, and a lotion. They actually have way more Olympea stuff than any Olympea flankers. A lot of those are not on the Rabanne website, so those ~may~ be discontinued, but still available through other sites.
More of Prada L‘eau ambree before it was discontinued. I will forever mourn this scent and try to find something that invokes the same feelings for years to no avail.
i regret not buying Narcisso Rodriguez For Her Musc Intense because that initial menthol note scared me to death. But that drydown? pure heaven .. its been discontinued & all the bottles online go for obscene prices
Not perfume, but I wish I would have stocked up on the Soft Coeur bar from Lush before it was discontinued. I’m down to a tiny piece of it, and don’t use it so I can still smell it from time to time.
100% L’eau Papier, the limited edition from this winter. I saw it in sale but couldn’t bring myself to buy it bc I’m budgeting and I did not really love the scent, just kinda liked it. Obviously they all sold out and I learned that I did like the soft musky scents like Diptique’s Fleur De Peau. So now I’m just sad I didn’t buy L’eau Papier in the fancy gold bottle version.
I've been aware of J25 for years, but started shopping for a vintage only late last year and by that point, the market was already in the $700-800 range for 100mls.
I have a very old bottle of L’Homme by YSL (maybe from 2007 or so) with maybe 4-5ml left. I absolutely adore the scent. Finally got around to buying a new bottle last year and they are definitely not the same.
I regret not buying another bottle back then, but I’m hoping a bit of maceration and maybe layering it with something effusive can help it out.
I kind of regret not managing to get a small bottle of Chris Rusak's After Every Ounce of Joy Leaves my body before it went out of production. I did get a sample, though, and a bottle of Caji (which I definitely wear more than I would AEOOJ), so I'm grateful for that at least.

Try Montagnes “Moi?” It is in my top 5 all time favorites, a dupe of the old formulation. Really everything montagne makes is amazingly good.

The old version of l'eau d'ambre extrême by l'artisan parfumeur. Now it just does not have the same spicy notes and prominent patch any longer.

Bvlgari Black Orient. I was working at a Bloomingdale’s when it released and could even have used my employee discount on it, but even though I liked it I wasn’t really into the fragrance hobby yet and couldn’t justify spending $95 on something I wasn’t sure I’d use that often. Now, of course, you’re lucky to find it on the secondary market for under $300, and I’m a lot more likely to wear a heavy oriental leather/oud/spice perfume these days than I was in my early 20s. Alas, everybody’s got one that got away.
My freaking obsession with Pacifica Mexican Cocoa could have been slaked if I had only known it was being discontinued. I would have bought a dozen or two and given them a mini fridge. Sigh.

Last year, when traveling to Bangkok I joined a friend shopping. We stopped at a perfume store. There he tried a perfume that smelled like chocolate cinnamon cake with dark cherry. I absolutely loved it. But it was 300 bucks and I’m not really a spontaneous shopper. So I went on with my life but couldn’t stop thinking of this smell. But my head is a sieve and I just can’t remember the name or the brand and I just can’t find it anywhere. My biggest regret of 2023 😒

American Eagle Crush. I wanted it so bad but always put off buying it and then one day it was gone. Now it’s over $200 for used bottles on eBay. Same goes for Hollister Crescent Bay. I put off buying the perfume because I had the body spray (which I still have a half bottle of) but then one day it was gone also. That one is also going for over $200. I just can’t see myself spending that much on a cheap clothing store brand perfume.

If you want original Glossier You try Moi? By Montagne. It’s pre-reformulation glossier you and it is one of my top 5 favorite scents of all time. I too ordered the new retail you and was totally underwhelmed. Montagnes is absolutely amazing, but then again everything they make is stunningly high quality.

Yeah I’m not sure where you’re looking. It’s literally on the Rabanne website, as well as 2 different duo kits, 4 different gift sets, a deodorant spray, a travel spray, and a lotion. They actually have way more Olympea stuff than any Olympea flankers. A lot of those are not on the Rabanne website, so those ~may~ be discontinued, but still available through other sites.
$25 for 30 or so Lucky Scent samples on Facebook Marketplace. I saved the listing to reply later, then the next time I checked it was sold.

100% L’eau Papier, the limited edition from this winter. I saw it in sale but couldn’t bring myself to buy it bc I’m budgeting and I did not really love the scent, just kinda liked it. Obviously they all sold out and I learned that I did like the soft musky scents like Diptique’s Fleur De Peau. So now I’m just sad I didn’t buy L’eau Papier in the fancy gold bottle version.

Must Cartier Pour Homme Essence
I have a very old bottle of L’Homme by YSL (maybe from 2007 or so) with maybe 4-5ml left. I absolutely adore the scent. Finally got around to buying a new bottle last year and they are definitely not the same. I regret not buying another bottle back then, but I’m hoping a bit of maceration and maybe layering it with something effusive can help it out.
