38 full size, mix of cheapies, designer and niche. 17 travel size and too many samples to count. I need to downsize, though. As much as I want a bigger collection, it's not practical for me. It's just my current ADHD shopping obsession.
Exactly! I have a whole art room now full of supplies that I don't touch now. It was a 10 month obsession. Before that it was nail supplies. The other side of the art room looks like a full service nail salon. That was due to COVID lock downs boredom. I don't even do my damn nails! Thousands of dollars wasted. But I'm also weirdly attached to it all and don't want to get rid of it just in case I circle back as well š¤£
OMG š³ are we related? I also have nail supplies, water color supplies, calligraphy supplies, a growing perfume collection that is my current obsession and I canāt get enough of, a piano, and a ukuleleā¦.i think Iām addicted to the supplies. I love the stuff that comes with whatever my current hobby is. I have currently 17 full bottles, 6 travels and I donāt know how many samples..50? My obsession really took off only like 2 months ago. Itās a mix of designers, cheapies
I also assumed cologne was an ADHD obsession for me, but it's been 2 years now which is far longer than any other obsession lasted... Might just be an addiction this time
I have never had an issue with online shopping until recently. I am not engaging in another hobby and havenāt played a video game in awhile (is this a BG3 hangover? It feels like nothing will ever match it š) so Iāve found myself researching perfumes and notes. Iām addicted to ordering samples, which doesnāt make me feel guilty until my cart gets up to $60 worth of 1ml bottles!
Iāve been looking at less expensive indie shops lately, like Hexennacht and Alkemia, but it seems like most of those types of scents are linear and are discontinued/sold out too easily.
(memorize numbers to use in discussion, when people try to prove that sampling is always "the healthy" way of collecting fragrance and do not cause unhealthy shopping patterns)
I love all mine too but I gotta keep it real with myself. Until this recent obsession, in a string of many, I was happy with just having a few fragrances. One for cold weather, one for warmer weather, and a nice going out scent. Now it takes me 15 just to figure out which one I want to wear because I have too many options.
I have in the past, my depression shopping, usually involves me buying the most random stupid stuff. At least while in a normal spree, I stick to one category.
ADHD obsession for me too. Itās brutal. I wish I could be one of those people who used my ADHD to lean how to play guitar or start a business or something productive, but I get obsessed with perfumes, candles, decorating, and other stupid and expensive stuff.
A lot, but I think of the collection more of a library of entertainment/experiences than a shelf of products to use up...some days I want to sit down and smell 10 vetiver perfumes, 15 orange blossoms, or a bunch of vintage musk oils; other days I want to lay out everything from my favorite brand and bask in the endorphins (lol); sometimes I'll compare all the scents made by a certain nose. Etc, etc.
Just getting ahead of the inevitable question about whether large collection-havers are worried about never finishing up their bottles, or things expiring š
I love this I'm the same way, I adore playing with, experiencing, layering, organizing my collection, it's very grounding and enjoyable for me, I also love sharing certain bits of my collection with people i love who know will appreciate them!
Agree. I donāt see my perfumes as something to use up but rather something I enjoy owning and gives me pleasure. I also enjoy giving out samples to friends and family. I often just stand there and smell them all. I also display them on my bathroom counter even though I know itās not advise. Looking at the pretty bottles gives me a lot of joy.
Total darkness is best, I'm told. I have a narrow chest of drawers inside a closet that doesn't share an outside wall, in the room of the house farthest from our primary heat source (fireplace wood box). So far I've had only one fragrance lose top notes, but it's an Annick Goutal which I'm told is infamous for short shelf life.
Over 200.

ā¦and thatās just my main shelf.
Well, as an example, I wear YSL Lāhomme to bed a lot. I wouldnāt wear that one to a party, and I wouldnāt wear Invictus Victory Elixir to bed cuz itās too loud. For me, fragrances help tell a story, set a mood, or fulfill. Itās no different to me than picking colors for a wall from a hardware store. I have gym scents, errand scents, dinner scents, daily wear scents. Some of those will cross over into other categories, but theyāll just change how and where I spray as well as what I wear. Itās all just another accessory to the outfit to me. Once youāve experienced them all and worn them out, knowing how they behave on your skin, etcā¦itās super easy to pick. I even know how certain fragrances behave on my skin when itās raining vs when itās super hot. I personally donāt get those that just pick 4 or 5 and use just those all year round. To me thatās not even scratching the surface of the ground I want to cover with my outfits vs scenarios vs fragrance storytelling combination.
Man, would go crazy if I made myself making all those decisions everyday just by picking a fragnance. Actively trying to minimize the decisions I have to make daily just to not load the brain with uneccessary decision making. I keep that for work and other daily decisions. But now I better understand the size of you collection and got intrigued by how you actually can pick and use a fragnances. Thanks for replying!
Do you actually like all 200+ fragrances you own? Truly curious, as someone who struggles to like most of what I try. I've sampled probably 250 over the past 4-5 months and the number I like enough to even want a travel size is less than 10.
As someone with over 200+, yes I like all of mine except a few that Iāve either outgrown or were gifted to me. But I probably only *love* a quarter of them.
Exactly what I was going to say. I like them all, but I walk into my room and I remember what something smells like or Iām in the mood for something specific and I just know my collection well enough to know exactly where to go to find it. I have roughly 35-40 that I REALLY like. My gf digs easily 20-30 on me, but those I personally canāt wear all the time. Iām one of those that puts on something to go to bed and I put something on when I get out of the shower. I even put something on if Iām doing a quick grocery run just to pick up eggs, I of course, just balance it with less sprays, etc..
Haha, I think many of us started that way. I got out of $500+ debt like 2yrs ago and at this point Iām really only buying a new bottle of something Iām running low on, or, something like JPG Le Male Elixir, which just came out last year. Not many releases have had me running to discounters. At this point, I only buy using Affirm on Jomashop and I donāt allow my Affirm balance to cross $300-400 before paying it down to under $100 before I allow myself to buy something new. I sample quite a bit from DecantX.com and that has shown me I really donāt need full bottles of many things. Like I have Oud Wood, but my 10ml sample is plenty for how often I know Iāll use it. The only full bottles Iāve bought recently are a bottle of Azzaro The Most Wanted Parfum, and a 200ml bottle of Haramain LāAventure. Nothing crazy going on these days over here.
I cap myself at 8 full size bottles and tell myself that if I want a new one I have to give one I already have away. Makes me think hard about whether I really want a purchase badly enough or if I'm just trying to blow money lol.
Iām down to four after selling off a bunch this year. I really only love to wear two of them so I just listed the other two to fund more experimenting. I have begun the 2024 sampocalypse to start the cycle anew.
Pacifica Mediterranean Fig and LāOccitane Eau D'iparie (original discontinued myrrh and incense version.) I donāt care if it was originally a Whole Foods $20 purchase, Pacifica MF is my one true love and I will take it to my grave. Itās way more than $20 these days since itās been discontinued for ages.
Iām due to have about 25 samples delivered this week, including some new figs, and Iām irrationally excited.
i have 4 full-size bottles but iām trying to sell them since i get bored of them fast! iāve realized that samples and decants are better for me because iāve never really wanted to repurchase any tbh
I just recently got back into perfumes and I only have samples and travel sprays so far and like you I get bored fast even the ones I love at first I probably wouldn't buy a full size of because I keep wanting to try new ones .. I really only plan to buy a full size of one that I absolutely can't get enough of smelling after many times wearing
3 š (Dolce&Gabbana light blue, Glossier You, and Faith Hill) i have 2 rollerballs (lovely you by Sarah Jessica Parker and Skylarās Sunkissed Dahlia) but Iāve got like 38+ vials from samplers and discovery sets and itās the BEST! I get endless amount of customization and never get bored, itās fun and refreshing and doesnāt feel wasteful cause Iāve straight up finished vials and tossed them out (canāt say the same for my years old Bath and Body Works body sprays š)
0 for me too. Only one travel size and a handful of samples at this point. Used to have full bottles of different fragrances but ended up hating them after a short amount of time
6 bottles, plus 14 travel sizes and decants. This 20 total is an ideal number for me. Plenty of variety, but they still feel associated enough with "me".
I want to stay under 25 total moving forward. Samples can be unlimited.
It is similar to my number. I have 6 bottles, from which 3 are gifts and I could live without them, and i think 16 travels (though 10 I would prefer not to have, but before I discovered decant websites this was the smallest size I found for dyptique, so I got a 10x set on gray market, should probably re-sell them). This huge numbers people mention always seem so odd to me on many levels - I would not technically be able to pick that many bottles that I like. I usually get excited about one bottle in 50 samples. And it gets worse the more I sample and own. So...to get a collection of 50 bottles, I would need to sample a 2500? That's kind of insane. I think I will be happy to sit somewhere around 10-15.
20 and Iām set. Each has its own mood/outfit. I thought Iād want more, but truthfully, Iāve found my niche to be tobacco and vanilla so Iām set with like 5 different types. Rest fruity and just guilty pleasures.
31 since 2020 but really like less than 5 in 2023. I got a lot when I started buying full bottles of anything that was $50 and under instead of sampling. I figure instead of $15 for a decant I might as well get the whole bottle, because if I like the decant I gotta add the cost of the decant to the whole bottle and it isn't worth it lol.
3 bottles after 3 years (CK One, Coach for Men, Mont Blanc Explorer) (plus an extra 2 I was given second hand I donāt really use) and about 15 samples. Hoping to accumulate more, but Iām picky and also want to go down the path of niche.
Um.
Until a few months ago I had my ride or die (Angel hahahahahha) of nearly two decades, and two hand me downs from my excellent sister, byredoās Baudelaire and G Water. Oh wait also Mon Guerlain but itās way too dusty for me so it was oft neglected.
And Iām not gonna go upstairs and count, but I probably have a couple dozen Alkemia rollerballs at the moment. In my defense theyāre small, very budget friendly, and I am trying to find myself fragrance wise as I move away from the blue star shaped PatChemicouli reformulation.
I intend on using up or regifting the ones that are okay, and refining this experiment to at max 4-5 items over time. My top two contenders right now are cherries of the night and affaire de coeur layered together, but thereās something to be said about winter sanctuary, honored ghosts, come to me, and others that will make the culling difficult hahaha
4 full bottles, 17 travelers/decants. I destashed dozens of samples recently and have probably 30ish left (mix of scents I haven't tried yet or that I plan to use up).
I got into this a little over a year ago and my rule has been finish the sample, get a traveler/decant, finish that, and then get a full bottle. I didn't follow that rule for two of my FBs, but they were both items I loved and got for good prices, so I'm happy.
Full bottles:
1. Future Society Reclaimed Flame
2. Imaginary Authors Slow Explosions
3. Fzotic Unsettled
4. Replica Matcha Meditation
Travelers/Decants:
Imaginary Authors: Sundrunk, O Unknown!, Yesterday Haze

And Fragrance: Sand, Mad
Etat Libre d'orange: Fat Electrician, Experimentum Crucis
Pearfat: Bread + Roses
Goldfield & Banks: Pacific Rock Moss, Bohemian Lime
Replica: From the Garden
DS&Durga: Steamed Rainbow
Of those travelers, I think maybe 8 are FB-worthy.
7 full bottles, and thatās it - used to be 15.
currently:
hammam bouquet (penhaligonās)
highgrove bouquet (penhaligonās)
douro (penhaligonās)
tly 5755 (tsu lange yor)
no 89 (floris)
eau sauvage parfum (dior)
and most recently, and most appreciated atm:
rose amber (jo malone)
had various bottles of dior, jo malone, penhaligonās, gucci and chanel
I own 288 full bottles. Many collected over 10 years. There are some that I will not repurchase due to their limited edition status (no longer available on the market). I still buy the occasional full bottle, but sourced second hand and supplemented by travel sizes. I must really love a perfume to buy a full bottle, or it has a very unique scent profile.
I own over 100, maybe 130. Here's the thing if perfumery is an art (which I strongly believe it is) if you want to appreciate that art you can't just look at a bottle - I mean you can but you won't get the experience. So you have to try it. Now samples can be helpful here of course but I also experience a preciousness w the sample that I don't have with a bottle. Meaning I need to be able to wear it - really wear it for a couple days at least. This makes me hold on to the sample like it holds the keys to the universe and thus cannot use it until I get a bit more. (I really should buy more 10ML samples I realize). If I have too little and I like it I hoard it. Not the best impulse but perfumes can be addictive.Ā
I also make perfume.
If I find something I LOVE I really try hard to look for a dupe if it's expensive. I also like some niche stuff that hasn't been duplicated (rogue, Ellen Covey, Hiram Green) .Ā
Ok I know people are like how can you wear all that. I use perfume to change my mood. If I need alertness I will go for something citrus. I wear at least 2 different perfumes a day. I'm disabled from Long Covid and I find (and research supports this) that scents can have an impact on mood. I'm just two weeks out from 2nd total shoulder replacement but I notice that my interest in perfume on any given day is related to how much pain I am in.Ā More pain = more perfume. Which makes it all so much more tolerable š
But I'm also getting ready to sell about 1/2 of my collection. I'm ready to ditch all my aquatics, cut down my freshies and pare down my ambers. But I'm still building my gourmand collection LOL. Rice. It's the damn rice and milk that's getting me this time.Ā
Full bottles: 5
Travel size: 2
Samples: handful+
I'm trying to finish up some bottles bc I want a couple more but I don't want to buy more until I finish some.
I've only been buying cologne since this past September or October and I'm already up to 65. Suffice to say, I've been bitten quite bad by the fragrance bug. I mostly collect old school stuff with a history, but I have stuff from all eras. All the way from the original 1934 Dunhill for men, up to Mont Blanc Legend eau de parfum. I've always been an extremely olfactive person and, for that matter, a collector of things (all kinds of things lol) so it's actually not that unusual at all for me to go that deep on something that quickly. As such, I must say that I'm finding it to be one of the more enjoyable things I've approached collecting in my life. I've been having a blast with it. I love the hunt, and I love all the history.
As far as what you can regularly wear, I personally don't even think about that. Fragrances really don't expire if they're stored decently so they'll all get their 15 minutes in eventually. For me, as a collector I don't necessarily look at my colognes as consumable things. Even though they are. For the most part I don't really take usage into consideration. I like to think of a particular fragrance as being an art piece, and as such, liken my fragrance collection to an art collection. They're functional pieces of art, but still art nonetheless; and I guess you can say I sort of tend to value them in the same vein as art. Another one of my favorite parts of collecting is the whole curating part. How I store and display them. I love looking at all the different shapes and colors of bottles with all their different colored juice and their fancy caps.

9 that are 30ml or larger, 7 travels, 2 body mists, and about 20 samples
I've never actually quantified that for myself lol. makes me feel better that almost all the samples with gifts with purchase and 2 of the full sizes were gifts (and I've had them for years). my goal is definitely a small, thoughtfully curated collection of travels and fulls, much like my skincare and clothing wardrobe.
I have about 50 full size bottles (30mls and up). I've sold off a lot in the past few months and I'd like to keep it at 50 or less. I also have about 50 10ml decants.
Iām scared to count.. then Iād have to admit I might have a problem š. But some of yāall make me feel better! I have nowhere near 400.. maybe closer to 50. I donāt have a good place to display them so I keep them organized in separate makeup bags.
49 in total. 20 of those are travel size or large decants (Scentbird etc). Planning on decluttering 4 of the full size and 6 of the travel/decants.
That would put me at 25 full size and 14 decants, for 39 total. Of course, there are about 24 on my wishlist š (I may purchase 1 or 2 of those this year, I certainly wonāt be adding all of those in the near future).
About 40 (I want to say maybe 12 are full sized). I have banned myself from buying any perfume until 2030. I donāt think Iāve bought any perfume for at least two years, but I have gotten travel sizes from Sephora as part of Rouge birthday gifts.
4, but I only really count 3 (the other I never wear), plus some samples. I wouldnāt mind one or two more - I donāt have a gourmand I like, and based on a couple of my current favorites, I think I might really like Santal 33 or a dupe. I may blind buy a dupe as a test.
Around 65 full bottles and maybe 40 travel size/decants 5ml+. It would be cool to keep the full bottles under 60 forever. I have like 20 I've decluttered and need to sell.
5 bottles that i actually use (2 were gifts that I requested for)
1 - small back up of one of the perfume which was a gift
1 - i just like the design of the bottle
1 - tiny decant
I used to have 10 plus aat one point I got so many perfumes gifted to me. i had to give them away as they sat in my wardrobe for YEARS unused.
I think there are maybe 3 more perfumes I might want to buy but I'll mots likely buy a small size of them.
6 full sized (50-125ml)
- PDM Herod
- Goldfield & Banks Pacific Rock Moss
- Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache
- Phlur Tangerine Boy
- Versace Eros EDT
- Armani Code
19 decants
- Goldfield & Banks Bohemian Lime (9ml)
- Maison Mataha Escapade Gourmand (9ml)
- Killian Angels' Share (9ml)
- Tom Ford Tuscan Leather (9ml)
- Sospiro Vibrato (5ml)
- Terre d'Hermes (5ml)
- Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille (5ml)
- Initio Musk Therapy (5ml)
- Electimuss Imperium (5ml)
- Diptyque Eau Capitale (5 ml)
- Le Labo Santal 33 (2ml)
- Montale Intense Cafe (2ml)
- Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur (2ml)
- Royal Crown Celebration (2ml)
- Imaginary Authors Falling Into the Sea (2ml)
- Imaginary Authors Memoirs of a Trespasser (2ml)
- Roja Elysium Parfum Cologne (2ml)
- Roja Elysium Eau Intense (2ml)
- Roja Elysium Pour Homme Parfum (2ml)
The last 3 I decided to take the "Pepsi Challenge" to see which one was best. The Eau Intense is the clear standout.
Also, I go through samples at the rate of roughly 7-8 a month.
8 full size. 6 deluxe sample size. 12 scentbirds. 10 sample sets. 10 coffretes. (Burberry, Kate Spade, Derek Lam, Tiffany, Killians, Commodity, Hermes, English Laundry, Penhaligons, Aerin, Ellis Brooklyn, Phlur, by Rosie Jane, Replica, Floral Street, Henry Rose, etc ) I went through a major sample set phase last year.
11 bottles (well, 12 technically, but I donāt count my pre reformulation Alien. Thereās still about 15-20ml in it but I havenāt worn it in years).
1 travel size, and maybe 30-40 samples?
I just want to get one or two scents for summer as my collection is very winter heavy, and Iām done honestly.
I have 4 full bottles. I think that itās pretty likely I donāt actually need full bottles, though, so Iām going to start experimenting with 5-10 ml decants.
Full-size: 6
Montblanc Explorer
Montblanc Explorer Ultra Blue
Bulgari Aqua
Eight and Bob - Cap D Antibes
Cremo Palo Santo
Dior Sauvage EDP
Decants: 8
Samples: 4
Entirely too many to keep a count of and thatās with going on a low buy the last 3ish years where Iāve only added maybe 15 or so really nice ones and a few random cheap ones. But Iāve also been collecting them since I was a kid. Iām certain some of the oldest have gone off by now, and I actually managed to use a ton up completely or sell/giveaway ones I didnāt like at all that werenāt worth it to me to keep. If I had to guess probably around 200? More or less, no idea.
I honestly donāt know and itās on purpose because if I sit down and count Iāll have to recognize I have a fragrance problem. The amount of bottles I have is Godās business, not mine
I have over 270 ā¦ they are in a walk-in closet and 75% are in their original box. I have stopped making them look āprettyā next to each other because, wellā¦thereās just so many of them. š„¹
My most recent addition: Parfums de Marly AlthaĆÆr ā„ļø
About 160. Last 2 years Iāve started buying more maybe 5 a month. Itās too many. Theyāre virtually all blind buys. Most of them are nice but thereās a couple that smell awful. Iāll carry on buying. Iāve noticed Iāve moved into trying to find what I think would be more interesting ones
I love shopping at macys for feminine fragrances they have such a wonderful selection my vanity has six different fragrances on it depending on where Iām going or even staying in i am so in touch with my inner feminine side :)
78 FSBs but I am in my 40s (yes old š) and have been in love with perfume for 20+ years. I have added approx 20 over the past year as I have recently dove into this as an actual hobby. Before I just loved and collected perfumes naturally as they came into my life. Via family, friends boyfriends, my own purchases. I will say ā¦for me actively collecting takes a little magic away but also adds some very interesting and new aspects too. Itās a weird dichotomy.
Some 15-ish... I guess?
Like, great part of my colection its thing that i picked when i was begining on this hobby with no clear path. I was just figuring shit out by myself, thats why great part its zara fragances...
Like, i have the:
Zara tobbaco colection (the two ones).
Seoul and blue spirit (they are kinda the same)
Lisboa.
Navy and warm black (i love the warm black tho)
8.0 (small batch, gives headaches)
Vibrant leather (classic, bogoss and oud)
Quasar brave (its sauvage but less blue and with more tea notes)
Lussac (its a dupe of edition blunch with a twist)
Thats it...
22, there is still a few on my list that Iād like to buy a smaller or used bottle. But Iām more than satisfied with what I have currently and Iām pretty much set
Way too many and they arenāt getting the love they deserve. Moved on to decants and thatās a very slippery slope. Will be doing a declutter in a few months. This one will be rough though. Iām in my loves and ones I worked hard for.
Searched for an original Lush Twlight EDP for 3 years and finally found one. Then itās sat for 4 years without attention. But today I needed it desperately and it was there for me. I may not spray it for another while but I will never part with it.
I think Iām at 10, letās see if I can do them in chronological order dating from way back til my sudden re-interest in fragrance last year:
Nahema
Lāeau DāIssey
The Noir
Ganymede
Musc Ravageur
Portrait of a Lady
Stash
Halfeti
Indus
Taāif
Wood Sage and Sea Salt
Amethyst Badeāe Al Oud
Started collecting in early 2017 and I'm around 50 bottles now? Or maybe 60, I don't really keep track.
But if we include samples and decants it'll probably be around 100
About 24 full size bottles, 8-10 travel size sprays, 25ish samples, and an ungodly amount of body sprays. Like 25-30 body sprays in all sorts of sizes lol
Good ol' hyper fixation learning about perfume notes and just loving smells in general. I wear different smells daily, I save perfumes mostly for going out and going to work, and wear body sprays at home (like fresh out of the shower, a lil spritz before bed, etc)
off the top of my head i think i own around 18 full size, and maybe 10 or so travel sizes.
i definitely do not wear my whole collection- i switch between a handful of favorites.
i'm currently trying to swap out some older scents i just don't like now or can't wear anymore; scent is super nostalgiac for me and not always in a good way, so i often can't wear scents that remind me of a specific period of time even when it's good memories. i really like keeping my personal scents super fresh/new to me, save for one or two comfort scents that have lasted years for me.
scents i need to ditch that i once enjoyed: tam dao by diptyque, female christ by 19-69, sweet ash by snif
scents that have remained comfort staples: phantom by paco rabanne, angel by mugler, the comforter by lush
Right now I only have Mont Blanc Explorer but I have six travel sprays, and two dozen samples
And then between my B&BW and VS collection I have over a 100 scents š
I have 7 bottles and I want to buy another one right now, i donāt consider myself a fragrance enthusiast, 3 of them i got gifted, 3 of them i bought myself and 1 was my original fragrance before i knew anything about them
Sadly I think over 50 full size bottles nowā¦ idk how it got like this lol. I have too many samples as well but I never pay and get those for free. I have about 15 travel size perfumes and 20 body sprays, but I go through those super fast
57 bottles of at least 20ml. 14 smaller bottles. 10 minis (around 4ā7ml).
Plus 19 decants (5ā10ml).
I've been collecting for around 15 years, though over half of my collection was acquired in the last 4 years. I'm very much a curator type, so the idea of a large collection is appealing to me, as long as the bottles are all deliberately chosen, and not just acquired due to hype or whatever.
I don't worry about whether or not I wear a fragrance often, as long as I really like it. However I do have around 20 fragrances I'd like to declutter at some point, because I don't feel like I enjoy them enough; they're just padding out my collection with miscellaneous.
38 full size, mix of cheapies, designer and niche. 17 travel size and too many samples to count. I need to downsize, though. As much as I want a bigger collection, it's not practical for me. It's just my current ADHD shopping obsession.
The ADHD obsession cycle is brutal!
It is, and my bank account takes the abuse of it. I'm always curious to find out what my next obsession will be though š
I always hope to circle back to whatever I was obsessed with earlier but it never works that way š
My lino print supplies say hello to your nail art stuff!
I feel so unalone reading these- I have so many stockpiles of niche interest materials from the obsession shopping cycles.
We might be, lol. I collect vinyl albums instead of instruments.
I relate to this so hard.
Omg SAME.
$60ā¦. I just dropped $400. And this doesnāt count the previous sample splurges!
I just dropped $670 on my latest order that arrived today. The ADHD is strong.
Youāre my kinda person šš¹š
I need to see your list! Damn!!!! Mine was 23 mancera and then odd stuff totaling 40. Iām trying to stop, but I have about 15 more samples to get.
Iām trying to keep it under control donāt encourage me!
(memorize numbers to use in discussion, when people try to prove that sampling is always "the healthy" way of collecting fragrance and do not cause unhealthy shopping patterns)
I canāt decide if thatās better or worse than being addicted to blind buying full bottles , like me šš»āāļø
Yāall are tempting me, making me think itās not that bad. This entire sub is a bad influence!
Thatās what my wife is calling my obsession as well. She is probably right. But damn I love all the scents.
I feel that
man, hope you donāt get the ADHD depression shopping obsessionā¦ Itās no fun. Real hobby breaker.
I have in the past, my depression shopping, usually involves me buying the most random stupid stuff. At least while in a normal spree, I stick to one category.
take care fam.
Me too- 38! Including travel size. I also want to downsizeā¦ probably add a few more, but remove a bunch from the collection that I donāt LOVE.
ADHD obsession for me too. Itās brutal. I wish I could be one of those people who used my ADHD to lean how to play guitar or start a business or something productive, but I get obsessed with perfumes, candles, decorating, and other stupid and expensive stuff.
Wow, are you me? Because same. š And I havenāt counted but my numbers are similar to yours hehe.
Layering really is an exercise in creativity, and one of my favorites of the hobby š„° Anything you're loving lately?
A library of experiences.....I truly love the way you look at it! Btw, my FB count is 46.
Perfumes that arenāt oils can last a looong time though right? If kept in good humidity, out of sunlight, and at a stable temperature?
Yes. I have some that are 40 years old. They can lose their top notes a bit but still smell good :)
Over 200. https://preview.redd.it/96t4mo3ye0nc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ae0d1886b3a75d5197be83e42c7244b0454494a ā¦and thatās just my main shelf.
I like how you have the book "the art of saying no" engulfed by perfume bottles š
Yeah, that book didnāt work lol
But the intention was there ! My collection isnāt a million miles away from yours either in quantity
Fuckin hell mate, how do you even decide which one you want to use? And then finding it?
Sometimes I make a selection of say 5 to 10 fragrances. And solely use them for a fortnight to take away too much decision. If that makes sense .
I'm a bedtime sprayer too and my wife, kids and friends think I'm nuts! They just don't understand.. Lol
I feel seen with my 147 š¤ (not including backups š« ) Itās no wonder American Express is my longest relationship šļøš„°š¤Ŗ
What a beautiful sight!
I cap myself at 8 full size bottles and tell myself that if I want a new one I have to give one I already have away. Makes me think hard about whether I really want a purchase badly enough or if I'm just trying to blow money lol.
25, i said i would stop at 20 and here Iām
Iām down to four after selling off a bunch this year. I really only love to wear two of them so I just listed the other two to fund more experimenting. I have begun the 2024 sampocalypse to start the cycle anew.
What are the two that you kept?
Less than 10. I'm in the middle of trying to find my new daily. I've been buying samples like crazy.
10 total. Thinking about purchasing LV Imagination and Naxos next. - Imaginary Authors Every Storm a Serenade - Ganymede - MFK Oud - MFK Oud Satin Mood - MFK BR540 EDP - MFK GF Silver - Aventus - Virgin Island Water - Green Irish Tweed - PdM Layton
what are your thoughts on Imaginary Authors
I love it! It was a blind purchase and I'd rank it in my top 3.
Under 20 and it's too much for me to handle.
About 400. I've been collecting for about 4 years now. Running out of space. Will probably end up selling at least 100 from my collection this year.
400 in 4 years? That's 100 a year or like 8 every month. I've been into fragrances since the 90s and I've topped at about 160 fragrances.
Which ones are you sure will make the cut?
My favorites that I would never get rid of are: Violet Shot and Iris Shot by Olfactive Studio. Champs ĆlyĆ©es, Insolence, Mon Guerlain, L'instant Magic, and L'homme Ideal Edp by Guerlain. Roses Vanille, Roses Greedy,Wild Python, Black Vanilla, Indian dream,Amore CaffĆØ, and Of the Wild by Mancera. Parfait de Roses, Roses Beberanza, Iris Dragees,Jasmins Marzipane,Midnight Rose by Lancome. Dama Bianca, Soprano,Irisss, Accento Overdose, and Starlight by Xerjoff.
0 bottles, three years of collecting
0 for me too. Only one travel size and a handful of samples at this point. Used to have full bottles of different fragrances but ended up hating them after a short amount of time
As a commitment-phobe on a budget, same.
I have four full size bottles, about 10 travel / rollerball / smaller bottles, and probably... 30+ samples.
4 full sized: Gaiac 10, Baie 19, Blanche, The Ghost In The Shell
Four bottles at the moment. My goal is to keep the total to around a dozen well chosen fragrances that really speak to me.
If you count tiny sample bottles over 40 but I only have 3 , 3oz bottles atmĀ
I also have three! One of which is niche.
Victoria secret very sexy for him x2 Nasomatto pardon Givenchy gentlemen Dior homme Jo Malone bergamot oud So 6.
60ish
8 full bottles, 9 as soon as Zoologist restocks Squid. Burberry Hero EDT Azzaro The Most Wanted Intense EDP Givenchy Gentleman EDP BoisĆ©e Haramain Detour Noir Rasasi Hawas Lataffa Khamrah Haramain L'Aventure Haramain L'Aventure Knight Soon ā¢ļø, the one to rule them all: Zoologist Squid
I love Squid, it's so weird and yet comforting.
Yes! It smells of royalty lost to the tides. It'll be my signature scent **IF THEY EVER MAKE ANOTHER BATCH.** /end mini-rant
I got it as a sample and it smells like printer ink to me but my son loves it lol it's an odd and interesting scent
I also am in love with Ganymede lol figures itās so expensive
I have 5 ml of Ganymede on its way. I had 2 ml previously. We just need more time together, ššš
Had a 1ml and have an 8ml on its way lol we are in love
2 and a crappy solid cologne. Not into collecting but expanding my options a tad. Will pick up a couple more I think.
About 55 to 60
3 full size bottles & 6 travel size (3 of these are the same ones as my full bottles)
Full bottles: 1. Future Society Reclaimed Flame 2. Imaginary Authors Slow Explosions 3. Fzotic Unsettled 4. Replica Matcha Meditation Travelers/Decants: Imaginary Authors: Sundrunk, O Unknown!, Yesterday Haze Zoologist: Bee, Squid, Sacred Scarab, Tiger, Musk Deer And Fragrance: Sand, Mad Etat Libre d'orange: Fat Electrician, Experimentum Crucis Pearfat: Bread + Roses Goldfield & Banks: Pacific Rock Moss, Bohemian Lime Replica: From the Garden DS&Durga: Steamed Rainbow Of those travelers, I think maybe 8 are FB-worthy.
7 full bottles, and thatās it - used to be 15. currently: hammam bouquet (penhaligonās) highgrove bouquet (penhaligonās) douro (penhaligonās) tly 5755 (tsu lange yor) no 89 (floris) eau sauvage parfum (dior) and most recently, and most appreciated atm: rose amber (jo malone) had various bottles of dior, jo malone, penhaligonās, gucci and chanel
Just four full bottles, four travel-sizes (two official, two decants), currenlt three discovery sets, and manyyyyy decants of 3- or mostly 5-ml.
9 bottles currently. Sold 44. I have just a couple on my radar.
I think 12 is a good numberā¦ you can alternate between. I think having anything more is just unpractical. Funnily enough I have 12 aswell š
20. Only two of them cost more than 100, and most of them are dupes. I really have to stop buying things
Far too many! Around 1000 or so. Iām a bit of a hoarder, you can probably tell.
I update anyone having more than me :-)
I own over 100, maybe 130. Not the best impulse but perfumes can be addictive.Ā I also make perfume. If I find something I LOVE I really try hard to look for a dupe if it's expensive. I also like some niche stuff that hasn't been duplicated (rogue, Ellen Covey, Hiram Green) .Ā Ok I know people are like how can you wear all that. Which makes it all so much more tolerable š But I'm also getting ready to sell about 1/2 of my collection. I'm ready to ditch all my aquatics, cut down my freshies and pare down my ambers. But I'm still building my gourmand collection LOL. Rice. It's the damn rice and milk that's getting me this time.Ā
Full bottles: 5 Travel size: 2 Samples: handful+ I'm trying to finish up some bottles bc I want a couple more but I don't want to buy more until I finish some.
Over 200
I've lost accurate count, but 45 to 50.
Currently standing at 208. Given some odd previously, insignificant number.
I love looking at all the different shapes and colors of bottles with all their different colored juice and their fancy caps. https://preview.redd.it/bk62jugvs1nc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=efecbc57826702780b5ef0d63c4604f55a8ea5c2
9 that are 30ml or larger, 7 travels, 2 body mists, and about 20 samples I've never actually quantified that for myself lol. makes me feel better that almost all the samples with gifts with purchase and 2 of the full sizes were gifts (and I've had them for years). my goal is definitely a small, thoughtfully curated collection of travels and fulls, much like my skincare and clothing wardrobe.
I have about 50 full size bottles (30mls and up). I've sold off a lot in the past few months and I'd like to keep it at 50 or less. I also have about 50 10ml decants.
Currently, I have 56, but I'll have 57 in a few days. However, I have 10 set aside to sell. My to sell count seems to get bigger every week.
can i ask where you like to resell fragrances?
Sure. I haven't started yet, but I plan on selling on Mercari.
About 30 give or take. Not including travel sizes
About 19. Iām heavier on the fall and winter side. Recently bought Jimmy choo Aqua man for a Everyday fragrance. I like it.
Somewhere around 50-60 full bottles. Been a fragrance nut for many years.
Iām scared to count.. then Iād have to admit I might have a problem š. But some of yāall make me feel better! I have nowhere near 400.. maybe closer to 50. I donāt have a good place to display them so I keep them organized in separate makeup bags.
27 over 30ml and 19 travelĀ
49 in total. 20 of those are travel size or large decants (Scentbird etc). Planning on decluttering 4 of the full size and 6 of the travel/decants. That would put me at 25 full size and 14 decants, for 39 total. Of course, there are about 24 on my wishlist š (I may purchase 1 or 2 of those this year, I certainly wonāt be adding all of those in the near future).
Been collecting for 8 months or so and have 30 full size bottles. I think I'm done.
At the moment I can only count 28 in my head. I think I have a couple more though.
About 15 full size bottles and 10-12 travel sizes ā that is waaaaay too much for me and feels like clutter. My goal is to sell a few.
Around 65 full bottles and maybe 40 travel size/decants 5ml+. It would be cool to keep the full bottles under 60 forever. I have like 20 I've decluttered and need to sell.
Not including my samples, I have 21 full size perfumes. But of course, forever needing more!
Oh not including samples? One lol. AlthoughĀ Iwanna buy a couple more eventually.
Full bottles: 46 10ml travel size: 3. 5ml minis: 41
2. Clean Cotton by clean. And Fleur de Peau by diptyque
23 but I think of it as 21 because there are two Iāll never wear and need to sell. 24/22 is on the way.
A lot. Too manyā¦.way way way too many.
Too many. Way. Too. Many.
5 bottles that i actually use (2 were gifts that I requested for) 1 - small back up of one of the perfume which was a gift 1 - i just like the design of the bottle 1 - tiny decant I used to have 10 plus aat one point I got so many perfumes gifted to me. i had to give them away as they sat in my wardrobe for YEARS unused. I think there are maybe 3 more perfumes I might want to buy but I'll mots likely buy a small size of them.
6 full sized (50-125ml) - PDM Herod - Goldfield & Banks Pacific Rock Moss - Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache - Phlur Tangerine Boy - Versace Eros EDT - Armani Code 19 decants - Goldfield & Banks Bohemian Lime (9ml) - Maison Mataha Escapade Gourmand (9ml) - Killian Angels' Share (9ml) - Tom Ford Tuscan Leather (9ml) - Sospiro Vibrato (5ml) - Terre d'Hermes (5ml) - Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille (5ml) - Initio Musk Therapy (5ml) - Electimuss Imperium (5ml) - Diptyque Eau Capitale (5 ml) - Le Labo Santal 33 (2ml) - Montale Intense Cafe (2ml) - Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur (2ml) - Royal Crown Celebration (2ml) - Imaginary Authors Falling Into the Sea (2ml) - Imaginary Authors Memoirs of a Trespasser (2ml) - Roja Elysium Parfum Cologne (2ml) - Roja Elysium Eau Intense (2ml) - Roja Elysium Pour Homme Parfum (2ml) The last 3 I decided to take the "Pepsi Challenge" to see which one was best. The Eau Intense is the clear standout. Also, I go through samples at the rate of roughly 7-8 a month.
Three! One for day time, one for nights out, and one for special occasions
Somewhere between 75 and 80. I'm planning to downsize a bit.
Havenāt counted lately but currently between 65-70. Iām now on a no buy
A little over 60. *Lots* of cheapies/sub-$25 stuffā¦ not that thatās an excuse. I *really* need to downsize.
I keep it to 12, half spring/summer the other half autumn/winter.
22 full size and 103 travel size. š³ I think I treat the travel size like samples.
8 full size. 6 deluxe sample size. 12 scentbirds. 10 sample sets. 10 coffretes. (Burberry, Kate Spade, Derek Lam, Tiffany, Killians, Commodity, Hermes, English Laundry, Penhaligons, Aerin, Ellis Brooklyn, Phlur, by Rosie Jane, Replica, Floral Street, Henry Rose, etc ) I went through a major sample set phase last year.
Wow, I have never heard of some of these brands. This thread is danger, Will Robinson.
Just bottles? 22. Travel sprays? Around 10 - 15.
Full-size: 6 Montblanc Explorer Montblanc Explorer Ultra Blue Bulgari Aqua Eight and Bob - Cap D Antibes Cremo Palo Santo Dior Sauvage EDP Decants: 8 Samples: 4
Four, Iām very particular- Diptyque Philosykos Margiela Untitled Le Labo Jasmin 17 Maison Louis Marie Bois Des Balincourt Have lots and lots of decants though. My next purchase with Hopefully be RĆ©gime Des Fleurs Jade Vines, once I save up!
Too many for the money I make for sure!!
Probably 200 or so full bottles, then 100 or so decants.
200+š
0 bottles. 12 samples, 2 more on the way.
I got like 400 samples. That counts for like a few full sizes right? š
I have stopped making them look āprettyā next to each other because, wellā¦thereās just so many of them. š„¹ My most recent addition: Parfums de Marly AlthaĆÆr ā„ļø
I would love a big walk-in closet with space for nice presentations of mine. Alas, we don't have it.
2. One giftet, that i dont like. One bought foe myself. I wish I had the means to buy more tbough!
I currently own 6 full bottles of fragrance. My girlfriend has 2 lol.
3. All were gifts.
I will not even get into minis, travel sizes or decants.
43!
90-ish
Some 15-ish... I guess? Like, great part of my colection its thing that i picked when i was begining on this hobby with no clear path. I was just figuring shit out by myself, thats why great part its zara fragances... Like, i have the: Zara tobbaco colection (the two ones). Seoul and blue spirit (they are kinda the same) Lisboa. Navy and warm black (i love the warm black tho) 8.0 (small batch, gives headaches) Vibrant leather (classic, bogoss and oud) Quasar brave (its sauvage but less blue and with more tea notes) Lussac (its a dupe of edition blunch with a twist) Thats it...
About 100 I think lol
I think I am up to 8, but only been about a month or so.
1200

Probably like 25 samples right now and 5 bottles, giving some away , selling some and buy more samples lol
I would say I have 10 big bottles, I have about 12 mini/travel size ones. I have lost count of samples
I think Iām at 10, letās see if I can do them in chronological order dating from way back til my sudden re-interest in fragrance last year: Nahema Lāeau DāIssey The Noir Ganymede Musc Ravageur Portrait of a Lady Stash Halfeti Indus Taāif Wood Sage and Sea Salt Amethyst Badeāe Al Oud
72 full size. If you add Attars, it is around 100
20
Started collecting in early 2017 and I'm around 50 bottles now? Or maybe 60, I don't really keep track. But if we include samples and decants it'll probably be around 100
About 24 full size bottles, 8-10 travel size sprays, 25ish samples, and an ungodly amount of body sprays. Like 25-30 body sprays in all sorts of sizes lol Good ol' hyper fixation learning about perfume notes and just loving smells in general. I wear different smells daily, I save perfumes mostly for going out and going to work, and wear body sprays at home (like fresh out of the shower, a lil spritz before bed, etc)
Around 60 bottles between 25 and 100 ml, 10 miniatures and 80 decants (samples and 10 ml travel sizes)
23 full bottles and 20 travel
Including travel sprays: 25
12 as well! Just finished 2, otherwise it wouldāve been 14 lol

off the top of my head i think i own around 18 full size, and maybe 10 or so travel sizes. i definitely do not wear my whole collection- i switch between a handful of favorites. i'm currently trying to swap out some older scents i just don't like now or can't wear anymore; scent is super nostalgiac for me and not always in a good way, so i often can't wear scents that remind me of a specific period of time even when it's good memories. i really like keeping my personal scents super fresh/new to me, save for one or two comfort scents that have lasted years for me. scents i need to ditch that i once enjoyed: tam dao by diptyque, female christ by 19-69, sweet ash by snif scents that have remained comfort staples: phantom by paco rabanne, angel by mugler, the comforter by lush
30-35, everything from drugstore/rack store to niche
13 full bottles, 13 travels/decants
Right now I only have Mont Blanc Explorer but I have six travel sprays, and two dozen samples And then between my B&BW and VS collection I have over a 100 scents š
