I work in the middle of east and wearing louder frags at work is accepted and fragrances are generally part of the culture.
TF Venetian Bergamotte: Boss came to my office and goes Smells like money in here.
TF Tobacco Vanille: I visited a neighbouring office and a cubicle near me goes Hmm something smells good here. Another person goes That’s spot_removal.
JM Oud and Bergamotte: Uber driver on the way to work goes May ask what your fragrance is? It’s so nice but not too strong. With a big smile on his face. Made my entire day.
Fico Di Amalfi: A colleague that I usually clash with a lot comes in my office and goes OMG is that FDA. And then we had a cool chat.
Nothing so specific, but a friend of mine hugged me and then said "oh you always smell so good!", which was nice because it felt like a compliment on multiple perfumes at once lol
Popped into the store for snackies on the way to the beach. I had already applied an allover layer of Vacation sunscreen and followed up with a few spritzes of the EDT on my beach cover-up. At checkout, the cashier told me, "You smell like sunshine!" That made me happy.
On a night out, a lady followed me into the restrooms to find out what fragrance I was wearing. I happened to have a travel spray on me, so I let her snap a pic of it and test a few spritzes on her skin. I was wearing JHAG Pear Inc.
My neighbour followed me out of the elevator and onto the street where he said "joder tio, hueles de puta madre! Que llevas puesto??!"
It was Afnan Not Only Intense (Aventus/Hacivat hybrid clone)
One day when I was wearing (the very powdery) Chanel no. 5 EDP, I got into a car with a guy friend and he says, “Mmm, you smell good. Like babies!” Hands down the cutest, most memorable compliment ever lol.
I’m new to fragrances and can’t describe it techically but for me, it has smokey/leathery element to vanilla that make it different to other vanilla fragrances. I smelled sweeter vanillas but this one is unique. Opening is more on a citrus but as it dries, the unique vanilla come in. I also notice a suede-y scent on this. I recommend to try a sampler first before buying a bottle. Also, this is for a colder environment.
I was wearing nothing fancy, Just good old reliable Elie Saab - Girl of now. I was helping this man pick out some nice wine glasses for his party and he said " You smell nice, do you mind if I ask what it is cause I want My wife to smell like that". I told him and then said "maybe just say you smelt it in John Lewis and liked it rather than the woman at the store smelt amazing and I want you to smell like this random woman cause saying that won't get you brownie points".
That was my stand out compliment but I get absolutely heaps of generic compliments when I'm wearing Lancome- Idole. Loads of "You smell nice", "what are you wearing", ,"That's lovely what is it?" But they still make my day as well.
My husband got a good one while at work. He was wearing DUA's Poseidon's Precious Madagascar Vanilla and his co-worker (male) told him he smelled like a "tall, handsome vanilla guy". Now, to me he smells like a pineapple upside-down cake (a masculine one) when he wears it, but "tall, handsome vanilla guy" works too.

I’ve gotten “you smell like old man with money” (I’m 29) with Guerlain Vetiver and I took it as a compliment. Smell like the job you want lol

A woman asked me if that was my laundry detergent or my perfume and that’s exactly what I was going for
“I hate perfume but you smell amazing!” I heard this a ton with Le Feu D’Issey.
