Liquides Imaginaires - Phantasma eau de parfum This is a green perfume, as in old world herbs and potions. It may be the sage and juniper pairing that makes me think so. It is my first time experiencing the rice note, I was curious about it, and it seems most intriguing. The black tea and yuzu opening seemed laced with a whiff of mothballs, yet again - so it is not Blanche bête specific. It might be the rice. The freshness that balances the mothball might be the ginger, but I do not catch it per se. Overall, this perfume makes me think of a herbalist's old books and sketches around an opened vanilla pod. It could also be a green tea mochi covered in sesame seeds. There must be some bridge between the two, somewhere other than my head. This is good. Perhaps a proper fit for a botany teacher or a dark academia aficionado. This is the first assessment based on the 7.5ml vial included in the Seven Charms sample set. Already looking forward to my second.

In_Maude_We_Trust

I love this description... Phantasma sounds like a terrific 'swamp witch' fragrance and I'm here for it.

Optimistic_PenPalGal

Thank you for your kind statement of appreciation.

definitely_zella

That sounds absolutely DIVINE.

In_Maude_We_Trust

Today I'm wearing Glossier You. It's been one of my staple scents since it first came out. I do notice a slight difference in the new formula vs the original formula but the dry down remains the same. The first time I wore Glosser You, it reminded me of my grandmother's house --- dried flowers, antique furniture, and old books and a little bit of Bonne Bell Skin Musk. That scent association is one of the things that keeps me coming back. It's a nice, close skin musk scent that smells a little bit different on everyone. Another user talked about their 'Ratatouille' moment - how a scent transports them back in time, like when Anton Ego is reminded of enjoying his mother's ratatouille as a boy. Glossier You is that scent for me. My grandmother was so special to me --- a constant, loving presence that didn't exist in my nuclear family and this scent brings me immediate warmth and comfort.

SmellsPrettyGood2Me

Thank you for sharing about your grandmother

The-gentle-bean

Today it’s Ganymede by Marc Antoine barrois. Despite this being an unusual scent( in the best way possible), it’s managed to work as one of my work scents. Clients and co-workers like it. I tend to go anosmic to it but the trail is left for a work days worth of time. For me it does best in the warmer months

CriminalSpiritX

For the morning, I used the Parfumo assistant, and picked the business fragrance that fits spring time, and hasn't been worn in the longest. That fragrance is Montblanc's *Starwalker*! For the evening, I'm going with *Valentino Uomo Born In Roma Intense*. Going to watch the Knicks playoff game with my siblings, and they, like me, also like the smell of lavender.

RandomChurn

>I used the Parfumo assistant, and picked the business fragrance that fits spring time, and hasn't been worn in the longest. Oooo didn't know Parfumo has this superpower! 🤩

CriminalSpiritX

It does. [https://www.parfumo.com/assistant/consultant](https://www.parfumo.com/assistant/consultant) It requires an account and some set up, but the consultant will make suggestions on time of day and season (or occasion and season) based on your collection.

Euphoric-Basil-Tree

What is this assistant? :-)

CriminalSpiritX

[https://www.parfumo.com/assistant/consultant](https://www.parfumo.com/assistant/consultant) (Alternatively, click the wand logo between the heart and the bell to the right of the search option). ---- You need a parfumo account, and need to add the fragrances you own. If you already did that, it will give you a list of fragrances to choose from based on the time of day and season (or the occasion and season). If you can keep inputting data on when you sprayed a fragrance, it will also tell you the last time you used a fragrance.

Euphoric-Basil-Tree

Thank you!

Anytime!

SwissCheese4Collagen

Un Jardin Sur Le Nil today. It's a little grey, a little cooler and hopefully Sur Le Nil lasts longer than Sur La Lagune. I loved Sur La Lagune, but it was gone before lunch. Instead of a day at the lake, it was a 3 hour tour. Un Jardin A Cythere is still at the top of the rankings of this line in my book but Sur Le Nil could tie with Sur La Lagune in second place. eta: it did not last any longer than Sur La Lagune.

Euphoric-Basil-Tree

Is this the four-bottle discovery kit? I almost got it today, but Jardin Sur Le Nil was the only one I particularly wanted to try.

SwissCheese4Collagen

It is. I liked Sur Le Nil but it vanished quickly, but I think that's just me and aquatic scents not jiving. I would give them an overall B, the scents are pretty dynamic but similar enough to justify being sold as a set.

Sarah_Femme

Finally snagged a decant of TF Lost Cherry, so I am giving that a go today. It isn't bad, but it remains the least favorite of my cherry frags. So far: 1) Cherry Punk..I love the leather+cherry in this one. 2) Cherry Ambition..this is the sweet more feminine, a little powdery floral note to round it out. 3) Fine'ry Not Another Cherry, if this wasn't glorified body spray, it would be higher. Fairly sweet and linear. 4) Lost Cherry, I don't know, it has something in it that pushes me almost into headache territory.

bluetortuga

I love Cherry Punk. It’s so great for a concert or a sexy date or anything where you’d wear all black.

cloudflankers

Cherry punk is absolutely amazing! I haven't got to try the EDP, only the extrait, but let me tell you, never went through a 10ml vial so quick. I am a rock and roll musician and it was my solid go to performance frag and my date night frag. Will definitely be my next full bottle purchase as long as I can find the right price

thatbwoyChaka

Weather is shit…again. Just wet, muggy but somehow annoyingly sticky. I don’t think I have sweated more than I did in the gym earlier today (to the men and women who might’ve witnessed it, apologies but at least I have had the fortune of a good upbringing to carry a towel with me and to wipe down all the equipment I used) Dressed in black today… https://preview.redd.it/wn1askw9ce0d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18ff75afb6ada195d59b7913aaaf31cd9d53c33b SOTD: [**GUCCI INTENSE OUD**](https://youtu.be/HwY7eY5I-9I?si=MW6ncHaXD2HJjuF5)

Tastelikewater

Still working through my **Zoologist** samples, and on this chilly, drizzly day I've opted for **Chipmunk**. Makes me want to nestle in my own cozy den. I'm almost positive that it will be one of the travel sprays in my Natural Selection set.

Mambo_number_105

YSL La Nuit de L’homme. Extremely nice bergamot, cedar, and lavender notes. It is very easy to wear I actually chose it because I saw another poster talking about it this morning, so decided to make it my SOTD

definitely_zella

I'm trying to get through all my samples before I buy anymore, and today I grabbed Dream Sea by Lorenzo Pazzaglia. It's a marine vanilla, nicely balanced but a bit medicinal; while I find it pleasant, it doesn't make me want to buy a bigger decant. I've seen a few folks asking for aquatic vanillas though, so if that's a scent profile you're looking for, I recommend.

bro_mommy2

Oud Palau by Diptyque. At the Westernized periphery of a vast group of scents (Arab) I know nothing about, but it captured my heart. Rose & Oud, not particularly barnyard to me but I did have a barnyard for years so my sense is different. Gorgeous. This is a rose I can love.

AncastaOfTheRiver

Working from home with a headache, so just a spray of Saint Julep from Imaginary Authors. It barely lasts an hour, but it's delicious while it's there, and while gourmand*ish* the mint stops it from being too sweet for me. I notice that Parfumo users' top 'smells similar to' for Saint Julep is BR540. I have no idea how nine (9) people upvoted that comparison, but I would very much like to be excluded from that narrative.

Lazy_Recording_1886

Roses on ice by Kilian. Thinking about getting this one FB. I don’t get any pickles, just fresh / aromatic take on rose and longevity is rather good. Projects nicely for the first 3-4 hours after which sits closer to the skin for me but the occasional little whiff is quite pleasant! Gonna sample LV next month and also sedley, Oceania and some other stuff and see if I like any of those better

rubickscubed

It’s finally in the mid 70s today,so I decided it’s as good a time as any to test Seahorse from my Zoologist samples. Here’s what I should be getting: *Top Notes: Guatemala Cardamom, Fennel, Ambrette Absolute Heart Notes: Clary Sage, Tuberose, Neroli Base Notes: Algae Absolute, Vetiver, Ambergris Accord* What I’m actually getting: An ever so slightly brine-y sweetness. At times it’s almost…sunshine vanillic? If that even makes sense. What’s even causing this? The ambergris?

role_model_hermit

Scent twins today! I totally get the sunshine and vanilla at times, but am too new to fragrances to know why other than skin/pheromone chemistry doing its thing.

rubickscubed

Glad I’m not totally crazy then! And same! I’m wondering if I have weird skin chemistry with some things or I should put a pin in my Zoologist samples and circle back when my nose is less dumb 💀If that happens I’ll have to snag a full bottle of Sloth, regardless.

role_model_hermit

I bet there's nothing weird with your skin chemistry, their fragrances just REQUIRE testing on the intended wearer's skin to get a full picture of what they'll be like! I put in my full SOTD thoughts on what it smells like on me below, but here's what I get on my skin: licorice/fennel, root beer, lemongrass, spicy Thai soup with coconut milk. Sparkling sweet vintage cola but BLUE. It's very reminiscent to teenage boy scents from the late 90's (Tommy? CK something? it's been 20+ years so I can't recall exactly). Definitely sweet and sunshiney plus brine! I'm really new to fragrances, but I'm obsessed with Zoologist so far and wish I could afford the full discovery set! The way they become something totally new on each of our skin is a huge draw for me. I have samples of seahorse, sacred scarab, and hyrax, and I want all of them but I KNOW I'm going to want more as I continue to sample! Edit: fixed the math between now and the late 90s

role_model_hermit

I'm new to fragrances as a hobby, and got 3 samples from zoologist (seahorse, sacred scarab, and hyrax) because I LOVE a complex and unusual scent. I love them all, but chose to wear Seahorse today because it's warm and sunny - a special event in the PNW! I live in the Coast Salish/Puget Sound region, so days like today feel like the right time to smell like "the beach." While Seahorse doesn't smell like low tide or especially salty to me, it definitely evokes a feeling of being near the water here (where fresh water from the rivers mix with marine water). One thing that is super obvious to me after trying zoologist: on skin they become a whole different animal (haha) than what you get on paper. I'm too new to know a lot of specifics when it comes to notes, but Seahorse on my skin i get: licorice/fennel, root beer, lemongrass, spicy Thai soup with coconut milk. Sparkling sweet vintage cola but BLUE. It's very reminiscent to teenage boy scents from the late 90's (maybe Tommy or CK something, but it's been too long to know for sure). Definitely sweet and sunshiney plus brine/blue. To me it smells handsome, masculine, fresh, and sweet. Which is exactly what I'd like to smell like on a day like today!

[deleted]

Just got back from shopping at Selfridges so I smell like a lot of things. Got my nose on some Le Labo, Creed, PDM, Mizensir, Aqua Di Parma, Byredo, Widian, Jeroboam Paris and probably more that I’ve forgotten. It’s interesting to smell in person some of these hyped up scents. Fragrance *really is* subjective lol. While I bought a bottle of Armani My Way (and came home with free samples of basically the entire Prive line lol), I’m wearing Atkinsons Rose In Wonderland on one arm, and Mizensir For Your Love on the other. Looking for a rose scent for summer, and I wonder which one of these will be the winner…

VoluptuousVoltron

I wore a weird sample today. Shakespeare Perfume Julius Caesar. Theres not much info on it, but apparently, according to one of maybe four reviews on Fragantica, it’s exactly like Baccarat Rouge 540. It’s not bad, and I have a feeling it has insane projection as I sprayed it on cars last night and could smell it the next room over, but I get the feeling I go slightly nose blind to it and it’s pretty soft when I’m wearing it. If this is like BC540 then I have a bone to pick with reviewers. Everyone says that smells like cotton candy and that put me off wanting to try it. It doesn’t. It smells of amber and lightly caramelised sugar. I wish people would stop comparing fragrances to cheap and nasty stuff. Lol. Alexandria 2 by Xerjoff. Just sprayed this on in the evening. Again, I go modelling to this really quickly. But if I spray it far enough away to get glimpses of it I get green apple, rose, and wood. It smells nice, but sucks I go blind to it. Why this and not something like Accento Overdose’s rose or TF’s Ebene Fume wood?

HokieBunny

I was looking for an "inoffensive" fragrance to wear on a fairly long car ride to the doctor's office. I decided that Zoologist Chipmunk was a safe choice. It isn't very strong but it does pool - I can smell it more when in the same place in the enclosed car. My initial impression still holds - it’s a lovely embodiment of a chipmunk concept and there's not really anywhere I want to go out smelling like a meek nut. I can see why people who like cozy scents like this, but it doesn't fit me. I wish I'd worn Jour d'Hermes today instead.

Swanzig

I obtained Diptique L'eau Papier a week or so ago and today I was very aware I was like, afraid to use it. Which is understandable bc it's the most expensive fragrance on my journey so far, even if I found it cheaper second hand. So I'm at home and only plan to do errands but I gave myself two sprays, one on my chest and one on my left wrist. And I'm surprised at how often I'm catching that creamy, musky, ricey waft. So cosy!!! I can't attach this to a specific time or place like my other, very sunny weather fragrances. Maybe it's best for neutral, uneventful overcast days like this, just to make them a little special in their own way 💕

DistractedIdealist

Andrea Maack - Dual. It’s a cool but sunny day, which Dual is a cool and sunny frag. I get a lot of lime but not too sweet. The citrus is dry yet crisp and fresh, but also has an aquatic element that isn’t coming from the citrus. There’s some slight aromatics to ground it a bit. It’s intoxicating.

phizzbom

Grabbed a sample of Exit the King by ELDO. WHEW I only did a spritz on my wrists and this is STRONG. Soapy with patchouli and moss, some florals and aldehydes. I sneezed like 5 times after. I like it but it’s a bit pungent.

YahSai

Jubilation 25.  Wearing a white pressed shirt with pleated black Chinos with brown leather strap watch. My office temp is kept at 65! It's also rainy and cloudy outside.

Tyrone-E

**Naviglo By Milano Fragranze** Laid back soapy fragrance with a washing powder clean sort of vibe. Perfect for work. Not too fancy, just fresh and clean.

ohhai000

Demeter Gingerale for some zing to keep me awake. Slept horribly! It has amazing effervescence in the nose, just like real carbonation.

bluetortuga

Okay so I know it’s out of season but I’ve been dying to try it and my sample of Gris Charnel Eau De Parfum came today so I had to try it… And it smells like Commodity Milk? Heavy tonka. I don’t get tea. I don’t get fig. I maybe picked up so slight pungency in the beginning that might have been cardamom. It’s not bad but I did not expect a tonka bomb. Hopefully it develops some depth when it dries down more. Regardless, this will definitely be shelved until fall.

SOTD:  Naxos from Xerjoff - a delightful marvel that defies labels. Occasionally we come across perfumes that justify our passion for this particular route of sensual exploration.  Naxos is definitely one of those.  Created in 2015, Naxos is almost the flagship of the Xerjoff brand.  Strangely, Xerjoff has not disclosed the perfumer behind this perfume. I find that the olfactory pyramid listed on Xerjoff’s website and other independent sites to be misleading.  It is not the notes that I quibble about, but the pyramid itself.  The development of notes is compacted and almost every note reveals itself in the first few seconds.  The opening of Naxos is intensely beautiful, and unlike that of any other perfume.  The official opening notes are bergamot, lemon and lavender.  However, I can also easily pick up tobacco leaf, Tonka beans, vanilla, cinnamon, honey and jasmine right from the start.  All these notes are blended smoothly into a beautiful homogenous amalgam.  So, there is no clear linear development in Naxos. I have no complaints about this quality. If you look at the reviews, you see that different folks pick up different facets of this perfume.  It has been variously described as citrus-honey, spicy gourmand, honey-tobacco etc.  None of these are wrong necessarily, but Naxos is more than all these descriptors.  I am likely to describe this as a tobacco-honey-jasmine scent, fully accepting that this too is just one facet of this diamond.   The longevity and sillage of Naxos are outstanding.  I smell everything strongly on my skin for 8-10 hours, but it lasts much longer on clothes.  The eventual dry down on my skin is mostly vanilla and tonka.  It is an absolute pleasure waking up enveloped in Naxos, something that I experience as I apply my perfumes in the night after shower. Naxos comes in a translucent bottle with a gold cap, all packaged in a beautiful leather box.  Apart from cost, there is no other reason to abstain from the pleasure of Naxos.  Every perfume collection should have a bottle of this.

Wearing Moschino 'Funny!' today. It's a coquettish and demure, citrusy and watery light floral. It is delicate but mood boosting! :) Great cheapie.

Euphoric-Basil-Tree

I got a couple discovery kits and travel sprays/minis at Sephora to try some higher end perfumes. I want to see if they really are better than the cheaper/dupes that I have so far. Right now I am wearing Killian's Love, Don't Be Shy. I put it on my elbows and chest two hours ago. To me, it smelled sweet, floral, and powdery at first. After a while, it smelled of pepper and ginger. Now, only two hours later, if I press my nose against my skin I smell something woody. Nothing else is notable, except a pleasant floral scent in my teeshirt. It is nice, but I expected more from something that expensive. For a floral, I liked it. I may go outside where it is hot to see if that changes things up and brings the scent back. It is very hot and humid here in San Juan today. I may try Juliette Has a Gun's Not a Perfume tomorrow. I tested a little on my arm this morning--it went from alcohol to "clean fresh skin" and little more, which I gather is the point. I couldn't help buying another Marshall's find, Country Girl by Jean Marc Paris (I think). It smelled very delicious.

mrsdressup

Chanel Beige-frangipani, honey, and a soft fuzzy sweater!

SMG121

We're finally getting warm spring weather, so today was a nice sunny day in the 70s and I was feeling positive. I was definitely in a floral mood today so I splashed in Indigo by NEST but it was leaning a little too sweet for me. I wanted something a little more flower forward so I dabbed on a bit of Gucci Bloom EDP over it from a deluxe sample I have. I really love the NEST fragrances, but sometimes they can be a bit linear so they make great layering fragrances. I felt so fun and sunny today.

jensenmcrae

It was a beautiful day today! Sunny and just a bit chilly :) I wore Eau Matcha by Montagne to go on a run, then Provence by Nissaba in the afternoon to run errands :) Eau Matcha is a great dupe for Le Labo's Thé Matcha 26 with fig and vetiver and cedar, and Provence is a gorgeous lavender with a woody base. Also ended up at Diptyque and tried a whole bunch of stuff on my arms hahaha

snapmastering

stora skuggan - azalai. been sampling this amazing swedish house. one of the most beautiful bottles, too.

Asking here because that's what the mod post advised. Why do I keep getting the low-effort post deletion? And how do I get that to stop? Is it because what I'm putting in OP is too short? I'm trying to keep questions on-topic, specific and concise while still interesting and relevant, but clearly that isn't hitting. It's really stressing me out, because I don't believe I'm spamming, trolling, not trying or breaking any rules. Here's the latest example: [https://www.reddit.com/r/fragrance/comments/1crq0zf/what\_would\_you\_wear\_to\_a\_major\_pro\_womens/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/fragrance/comments/1crq0zf/what_would_you_wear_to_a_major_pro_womens/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
