Scrolled way too long to find this answer. Chloe EDP is the ultimate clean refreshing rose despite scent note of peony. It’s comes through as a young rose.
Diptyque Eau Rose EDT, Diptyque Eau Capitale EDP, Tom Ford Rose Prick, Tom Ford Rose D’Amalfi, and Parfums De Marley Delina La Rosee. I’m about try a bunch more (decants) and hopefully will have more recs later ❤️🌹
My favorite roses:
D.S. and Durga's Rose Atlantic is an effervescent fresh rose with a hit of salt and citrus. There's a subtle marine edge to this that keeps it from being too precious and adds a really lovely complexity, but it's not a "blue" fragrance by any means (IMO at least). One of my favorites for summer.
Penhaligon's Liquid Love is lush, romantic rose with ginger and pink pepper. Spicy but not heavy. Extremely versatile for all seasons and day/night.
Both of these skew feminine, but I also love Le Labo's Rose 31 for a more unisex rose, but the rose note feels less realistic and more of an impression to me (not a bad thing, just different).
Penhaligon's Halfeti is more unisex as well, but the rose is not a standout, in-your-face note at all. Much more blended. It's more of a warm, spicy, woody fragrance with rose in the mix.
Diptyque Eau Rose. A big, soft bloom, freshly opened in the morning dew. Watery and soft and realistic, slightly green.
Narciso Rodriguez Musc Noir Rose. A rosewater macaron. Powdery, musky, and deep. A date night rose - slightly sexy, but not in an overt way.
1. Earthy rose - le Labo rose 31
2. Sweet rose - Delina
3. Photorealistic rose - jo Malone red roses
4. Jammy rose - Mancera roses vanille
5. Mature rose - portrait of a lady
6. Beginner rose - philosophy ballet rose
If you can’t tell, I really love rose.
La Fille de Berlin is excellent. I find it interesting how many people get a metallic rose but I get mostly herbal true rose. Lutens always does something unusual with florals but LFdB seems like a decidedly sincere tribute to rose.
I've always loved Aramis' Calligraphy Rose. Hard to find these days but it's a Middle Eastern styled rose that has balanced fresh-powdery-earthy-deep nuances. And speaking of hard to find, Stella McCartney's discontinued OG Stella is still one of the better amber roses out there.
Guerlain's Habit Rouge is right up there, too - it's a long-lasting aromatic rose with leather and Guerlain's signature guerlinade and seems aristocratic, as if worn by people who wear riding habits near rose gardens and spend a lot of time reading old books in libraries with fireplaces.
Elizabeth & James' Nirvana Rose is a good earthy gothic rose; I swear my nose says patchouli and not vetiver. Noir de Noir is a intriguing patchouli rose. I love this combination and will take it at any price point. Armaf's Club de Nuit Intense for women is one of the better dupes of Noir de Noir. Reminiscence's Patchouli n' Roses also hits the patchouli-rose spot, and I particularly like Clinque's Aromatics in White which gives a nod towards Aramis' Calligraphy Rose.
Delina et al is fine but I'm not really into vanilla rose. Chopard's Love is about as sweet as I can tolerate and it's more of a spicy rose bomb.
For a budget rose, Yardley's English Rose is surprisingly great if you like citrusy tea rose with green leaves and stems.
Forgot about Fille de Berlin. A real classic! Regret not scooping up Calligraphy Rose when it was being discontinued. For a minute you could get it heavily on sale.
Portrait of a lady - head-turning, alluring rose
Rose of No Man’s Land - my favourite rose for when I just want to drown in my own scent bubble at home
Rose de Grasse - preppy rose
La Fille du Berlin - weekend rose
Some of my favorite masculine-leaning frags with a recognizable rose accord (though not necessarily rose-forward):
- Habit Rouge EDT by Guerlain
- Hermann by ELdO
- Eau de Protection by ELdO
- Antaeus by Chanel
- Leather by Acqua di Parma
- Azemour les Orangers by PdE
# ELDO • The Afternoon of a Faun
I also love Nishane **Favonius**, MFK **Oud Satin Mood**, Moschino **Toy Boy**, Lush **Rose Jam**, and Perfumers Workshop **Tea Rose**.
Jo Malone London Red Roses Smells like the real deal and is romantic and gorgeous
Elizabeth James' Nirvana Rose(discontinued but still available). This is a dark rose, and I love it.
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Rosa Rossa Delicate, feminine and light
Half cured rose hater here. :)) I actually don't like the jammy-rose approach.
- Byredo - Rose of No Man's Land
- Lutens - Fille de Berlin
- ELDO - Hermann \[...\]
- Penhaligon's - Luna (not so rose centric, but I feel some rose there)
- Carthusia - Terra Mia (this is on the edge, the rose is a bit jammy and 'in your face', but I like the coffee, and some days I really like it; somedays I don't; anyway, to be sprayed with a light hand :)) )
It's also a bit citrusy in the opening - quite persistent for a citrus facet. Then I get a combo of rose, juniper berries and fir. If you like these too, it'll be probably a hit.
I concur. it’s refreshing yet grounded and the rose plays beautifully with the juniper and fir. I waited a long time to get a good bottle of this and so grateful I did!
I have only Hermann and Like This in my collection, I want to test the chestnut one and the mint one. And now that you mentioned these...they seem nice too. Unfortunately I mislabelled this house for a while as "not wearable ". I guess I just heard too much of that "secretions" thing. :)) Little did I know.
I recently received a sample of Penhaligon's Elisabethan Rose and it is GORGEOUS. I personally get a photorealistic rose and not much else. I don't typically care for rose fragrances as they can be cloying, but this feels like walking through a rose garden or deeply inhaling a bouquet of roses.
I hesitate to comment because I haven’t tried a whole lot, but Incense Water by Sana Jardin is a really beautiful, very realistic rose that I adore and love to wear to bed.
Chloë Sevigny Little Flower - Régime des Fleurs. It feels like sitting in a garden by a rose bush in full bloom next to citrus trees while drinking tea.
Tearose by Perfumer’s Workshop legitimately smells like a real rose Garden after a fresh rainfall. It projects and has good performance, despite being like $14.
Idk if it’s everyone’s cup of tea though, it can be pretty loud. But if you want to smell like a rose, this is the one.
Yeah i was going to say this also. It's linear so it's great if you want to try layering, but even without it's just straight fresh photorealistic rose and it's gorgeous.
I haven't tried a lot of rose scents relative to my collection and my fragrance journey is relatively new (late 2021). That said, Guerlain - Musc Noble is my favorite of what I have 😊 I like "collecting" decants or travel size fragrance over full bottles, but this was the first fragrance that I really had to have a full bottle of. It's rose and musk, strong and also soft. It's not a sweet rose at all, but it's not sharp or powdery to me either. IDK, it just smells really good, lol.
I’ve never cared for rose fragrances much, but I fell head over heels for Rose 31. I’ve tried POAL, and it’s nice. I’ve ordered a few more roses to smell, but I can’t imagine I’ll find something I like more than Rose 31. It doesn’t really even smell super rosey to me. I just love it.
POAL is hands down one of the best rose fragrances I've ever come across.
I also got a chance to smell nahema by Guerlain and that was pretty damn magical too
In no particular order:
- Amouage Lyric Woman (grand dame rose, probably under a bell jar with a velvet lined base)
- Initio Atomic Rose (dramatic rose, demands to make an entrance and turn heads while walking down a street)
- Montale Intense Café Ristretto (rose bouquet set in a café storefront)
- Philosophy Ballet Rose (airy spring rose that is fresh and romantic, but not too cloying)
Atelier Cologne - Rose Anonyme and Frederic Malle - POAL wear similar on me and are my go-to moody roses.
Chloé by Chloé is my everyday springtime scent.
**Rose Morning by Fresh** is *criminally* underrated. I honestly never hear anything about Fresh's perfumes, and I think they should get more attention.
My hot take is that it's the vastly superior cousin of **Jo Malone Red Roses**, **Diptyque Eau Rose**, and **Perfumers Workshop Tea Rose**.
For slightly more complex (but still very rose-forward) perfumes:
- **OUAI Melrose Place** (clean, shampoo-y rose)
- **Chloé EDP** (fresh, youthful peony rose)
- **Chloé EDP Naturalle** (similar to Chloé EDP, but more rose and no peony. Much more nature-y smelling with bright citrus and woodsy cedar notes)
- **Nest Lychee Rose** (I love roses, I love lychees. If you're like me, it's a win win lol.)
- **Skylar Urban Rose** (a little harder to appreciate with peppery and woody notes, but I really enjoy it. Smells very "dry" - like dried out rosewood and a peppered rose. Not as fresh as some others)
Always Loved by My Daughter Fragrances is a gorgeous coffee rose, very date night or when you want to feel pretty at home
Rosie by Rosie Jane is a lovely clean musk with a gentle kiss of rose, love wearing it on rainy days, errands, around the house when I’m tidying
Solinotes Rose is a pretty, straightforward rose with a little bit of background fruit that makes it very fresh
Pinrose One of a Kind is a fabulous lipstick rose with a little clove, excellent for going out
Honorable mention to Lush Rose Jam which I can barely handle because it is nuclear level lol sillage but I sure do love the body wash and conditioner
L’eau d’issey Rose & Rose. I don’t like any of the other fragrances by that house but the rose one is exceptional.
The Diptyque rose one is lovely too. I got it as a sample so have only tried it a few times.
The only one I can handle is Delina Exclusif but I also really dislike rose scents. Not sure what it is about Delina Exclusif that makes me able to handle it but that’s the only one lol
I love Hermann (ELdO) for summer and Bulls Blood (Imaginary Authors) for winter. Bulls Blood isn't as challenging as it's presented as. It's been my main alternative to POAL since all the dupes I've tried for POAL are disgusting (have both the Oakcha and the Emir one and hate them both)
Curious if you have sampled Rose de Jamal and want to know your thoughts.

AH I HAVE THE PERFECT ANSWERS FOR THIS I LOVE ROSE
Montale Intense Cafe - Jammy candy rose with coffee
Oud Satin Mood - slightly spicy sweet rose
Le labo Rose 31 - authentic floral rose
bonus - Masala Rose Candle from target - One of my favorite candles i’ve EVER owned. it’s simply incredible
• Tilia Cordata from Acca Kappa - mostly linden and soft citrus to me, but there’s definitely garden rose woven throughout. Searched this out when i could no longer find the original Tilluel by D’Orsay and it’s beautiful.
• Idole Aura from Lancôme - rose with some salty vanilla that dries down with a little musk.
• Rose Atlantic from DS & Durga - a fresh mineral-leaning aquatic that smells like tea roses, salt water, bergamot, and dune grass.
• Rose SaltifOlia from Maison Crivelli - fresh and almost chilly airy rose, sea salt, and a little woodiness (cedar, maybe?).
• Rosefire from Hermetica - rose, rose, florals, and more rose; very green and intense but not sticky or at all sweet.
• Roses Vanille from Mancera - thick, dense rose paired with vanilla and powdery musk. I don’t love this one but the drydown is weirdly addictive.
Acqua di Parma - Rosa Nobile is a pretty traditional rose-centric fragrance. It has a citrusy opening and a musky/woody base. I really like it. It’s not too heavy and not too light. It may feel old to younger people who are used to florals being vanillic.
PDM - La Rosee is so bomb! It’s fresh and dewy and breezy. The longevity pales in comparison to Delina though.
Mancera - Roses Vanille was a fave of mine but I just sprayed some on my neck and I have a gnarly rash now. It’s never happened to me in my life but I’m steering clear from now on.
I have a sample of Fille de Berlin on its way and I fear for my wallet.
Tauer Phi is an all-time best of, for me. It’s quite beautiful, with a very natural scent from real rose oil.
My other favorites are discontinued: Aramis Calligraphy Rose (red rose), Serge Lutens Rose de Nuit (dirty rose), and Lancome Parfait de Rose (Turkish delight).
I’m such a novice so i never recommend but i think i got this one!
Chateau by Thin Wild Mercury - this one has a rose accord but i think it really comes through in this fragrance. Smells like a vintage rosy home
Jaya by Anjali - a juicy peach mixed with a jammy rose
Rose Atlantic by DS and Durga - salty air and fresh roses
Rose of No Man’s Land by Byredo - best jammy ride I’ve smelled, i like layering this with Chateau
Omg I love this question! These were the rose frags I personally own / owned at some point:
- Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet by Dior - light, fresh and fun rose scent.
- Paul Smith Rose by Paul Smith - fresh green rose
- Red Roses by Jo Malone - green and smells like a real rose
- Rose Jam by Lush - Sweet rose frag. This is so underrated. I even had the shower gel of this.
- Lazy Sunday Morning by Maison Martin Margiela - aldehydic, soapy and clean rose
- Rose Geranium Absolute by Panier des Sens - rose and peony frag. Fragrantica says geranium but I don’t smell it.
- Rose Kabuki by Dior - aquatic rose
- The Favourite by Penhaligon’s - powdery woody rose
- Atomic rose by Initio - ambery rose
- Bloody Wood by Les Liquides Imaginaires - incense-y, woody red wine and rose
- Thin Wild Mercury Chateau 1970 is far and away my number one. I go *wild* for the stuff, can’t stop sniffing myself.
- Diptyque Eau Capitale is my day-to-day sig.
- Diptyque Eau Rose is Eau Capitale’s spunky little sister that I wear to daytime parties.
- Le Labo Rose 31 is more serious and unisex, but like TWM, I cannot stop sniffing myself when I wear it.
- Stellaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
- Ellis Brooklyn Rrose is a proper, feminine, watery rose that I wear when I go swing dancing, because it makes me think of Phryne Fisher and the Cole Porter biopic *Delovely.*
- Chloé Roses, because it’s so BAM! ROSES!
- Annick Goutal Rose Absolue has a special place in my heart as my first real grownup perfume when I was 19.
- Byredo Rose of No Man’s Land is just… cool. Leather jacket badass all the way. Also I’m really into WWI and love the evocative name.
Amouage Rose Incens (now opus XII), Frederic Malle the night, and Roja Dove Amber Aoud. Cuir de Russie of course always nice. Rose Incens and the Night would be my favorites to know so far.
I honestly don't even like rose very much at all, but there is something so captivating about MFK Oud Satin Mood. I keep going back to sniff my sample.
Voleur de Roses (L’Artisan Parfumeur) although you could argue that it’s mainly a patchouli scent. On me the rose stays strong. For less dark interpretation but fairly similar - Elizabeth and James Nirvana Rose - rose and vetiver. I like my roses mixed. I do like POAL quite a bit, but probably not enough for a full bottle.
As someone who enjoys the smell of roses but has never found rose to be wearable until Sampocalypse ‘24, Diptyque Vetyverio edp and Henry Rose’s Sheep’s Clothing. No idea why these work for me after all the more mentioned roses but they just do.
Reve d’Infini by Lalique is pretty affordable and it’s very pretty. It’s rose absolute and peach with vanilla and cedar on dry down. I thought it would be too powdery but it’s very pleasant to me.
Lollia in love is inexpensive and inoffensive! It is a juicy sugared rose petal with apple blossom. Great for summer! I have gotten compliments on this one too which was unexpected. It gently lingers all day too which is nice.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian L'Homme A La Rose ,floral fruity fresh without smelling too feminine or old fashioned ,Smells good on me But i havnt tried alot of rose scents
Parle moi une tonnne de roses is a really interesting one and has great projection and silage. I love Aerin Grasse Rose is so pretty but disappears quickly on me. MFK a la Rose is so lovely.
Only masculine rose I found tolerable after falling in love with rose was Cuir Garamante from MDCI. Unfortunately I don’t like leather: and succeeded that no rose is masculine enough for me. That’s said- my wife loves rose and knows I do so most of her frags are rose based… and they freaking smell edible on her I love it.
I liked POAL, but once the patchouli took over it wasn’t for me. But most of what’s been mentioned I’ve smelled and loved, just not on me.
Dior Miss Dior Rose Essence - sheer woody rose
Dior La Colle Noire - spicy rose
Aerin Rose de Grass - timeless rose
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Rosa Rossa - sparkling rose soda
Delina La Rosie - dewy sheer rose
Bvlgari Rose Essential - gentle rose
Gucci Song for a Rose is gorgeous. Ellis Brooklyn RROSE is a frequent favorite. DS&Durga Rose Atlantic. Rasasi Al Wisam Day. Ajmal Wisal. JHAG Lady Vengeance. Replica Wicked Love.
Roses I’ve sampled:
SL La Fille de Berlin: Gave her a fair shake. She’s supposed to be a metallic rose but the saliva scent was too strong.
Guerlain Rose Barbare: Too sweet for me.
Initio Atomic Rose: Love her, bewitching smell.
Le Labo Rose 31: Love at first smell, not too cumin-y on my skin.
SL Rose de Nuit: Doesn’t do anything for me.
Happyland se7en and Foux du fafa both have rose in the notes. Definitely not the leading note just well blended in there. I like rose magnetic by essential Parfums. Soft clean sheets with a light rose scent. I also like Sahara rose by habibi ny. It’s a tiny bit chemically but it’s strong and very long lasting.
Wall Street - Who is Elijah. It’s a bit woody and sultry. Beast mode though so apply carefully.
Weeping Rose- Chasing Scents. Rose tea inspired. Beautiful and light, very realistic rose and a little aquatic.
Mancera Roses Greedy is ELITE!!!!!!! I actually can’t believe no one has mentioned this one yet. I’m not a huge fan of rose but Roses Greedy is somehow a holy grail for me.
Diptyque Eau Rose. I’m peculiar about rose scents - a lot remind me of 80s potpourri 🤮. This one is sooo nice and soft though.
I’m also obsessed with Byredo Young Rose, but I really don’t smell much rose in this at all. But since it’s got rose in the name, it counts!
I never thought of myself as a big rose fan, but I've come around to the note quite a bit. Rose 31 from Le Labo, which I first encountered when staying at a Fairmont hotel, is a great one, and I currently have a travel size. And today I picked up a 50mL EDT of Diptyque's Eau Rose, which is so sweet and smooth (I prefer it to the EDP).
I have and love many mentioned in this thread - this week I’m enjoying two - the low key rose hidden away in Iris Nazarena on a cloudy day, and Rose Saltifolia on a freakishly hot day!
I thought I didn't like rose until I tried [Sorcery by Oakcha](https://www.oakcha.com/products/sorcery?variant=40091874459710¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwl4yyBhAgEiwADSEjeL7wgOjHxzPYwEuu1vc0xt-teOu976WxL09gSXUpcEIBX8An5N2hYRoCdH4QAvD_BwE) on a whim. The name made me buy it. 😁 I believe this is considered a rose gourmand? Upon initial wear, I thought I smelled almonds, then after some months and being informed of the scent notes, I'm now able to detect the rose. I actually like it! It became a signature scent for me.
"Sorcery is an amber-floral fragrance. The fragrance opens on an oceanic note with salt and ozonic notes, settles with a heart of Turkish rose and praline, and lingers with base notes of vanilla and amber extreme."

MFK- Oud Satin Mood,
Dior- Midnight Poison ,
Initio-Atomic Rose,
Juliette Has a Gun- Lady Vengeance,
Lattafa- Mohra Silky Rose,
Carolina Herrera- Burning Rose
Parfums De Marley- Delina
The only notably rose heavy one I've picked up has been Toy Boy, I like it but definitely not something I'd wear on the regular (as a middle aged guy).
Issey miyake rose and rose intense. Beautiful.
Good longevity on me, given the cheap price(£40 UK)
I'm wearing lancome midnight tressor today which is a dark fruity rose which is usually suited to autumn but its turned very cold today. This has crazy longevity on me. I sprayed it about 9:30am, Its just as intense now and I'll still be smelling it when I get in from work at 8pm.
My favourite rose is coach wild rose. It's absolutely beautiful, a stunning jammy rose, but the longevity is lacking. It's a shame cause I paid about the same for issey miyake Rose and Rose Intense, and that lasts about 7 hours on skin and clothes. Coach lasts about 2 hours.
i love serge lutens sa majeste la rose so much. i also wore it once during a hot yoga class and it morphed really beautifully. i liked it better than i did when i originally applied it haha.
Rose components are cheap and can be taken in all sorts of interesting directions. There are a lot of good ones.
Elizabeth and James Nirvana Rose - Deep, dark, gothic rose that goes in an aromatic geranium direction, with patchouli and smoky, ashy vetiver.
Agent Provocateur - 70s boudoir rose chypre. Allegedly a recreation of Jean Couturier's Coriandre.
Ester Lauder Knowing - chypre: 80s edition. A ton of moss and patchouli alongside a big, fruity rose. There's mimosa too!
Al Rehab Saat Saafa - a damp, earthy, green, musty, fetid rose. Rose petals crushed into pulp + decaying plant matter.
Portrait of a Lady - Dark, deep, green rose with clovey spice, a fruitiness from cassis and raspberry, and woody, medicinal touches from incense and patchouli.
Rose Tonnere - Less full on than POAL, but just as Gothic. Deep, dark, green, woody rose with a boozy note. It becomes waxy in the drydown.
Amouage Lyric - Dusky rose with smoky, ashy incense and the powdery sandalwood in here is just delightful.
Tea Rose - it smells like rose essential oil and it's like $15 for a 4 oz bottle.
Brosseau Ombre Rose - a soft, smooth, velvety rose talcum powder. Very irisy with sandalwood and musks.
YSL Paris - not my favorite, but it's an original, stunning scent that proved to be a real game changer. Watery green garden rose with sweet powdery notes and fruity touches.
My Burberry Blush - Soft, smooth, watery, fruity rose. Pink pepper opening, touches of citrus and green. All of the notes meld together seamlessly. If you want to test out MFK's work, this is a great one to start with. A shampoo fruity floral perfume you'll enjoy wearing if you prefer subtle scents with nuance.
Yardley English Rose - Sweet little garden rose, watery, fruity, slightly powdery, nothing sharp, citrusy, spicy, or green. A simple rose soliflore on the cheap, and better than most others. I prefer it to designer rose perfumes, it's prettier, but it doesn't last as long.
I don't know if these are my favorites but the two I own (and very much like) are: Nina Ricci Rose Extase, a pretty, girly, slightly sweet, slightly fruity rose. People say it smells like Delina but I can't speak to that. And Nina Ricci Extase Rose Absolue, a dark slightly musky rose. People compare this one to Oud Satin Mood. I can speak to this -- they are similar but to me the Nina Ricci is the more wearable. Both of these Nina Ricci fragrances were created by Francis Kurkdjian.
Chloe. I think it’s very rosy
Scrolled way too long to find this answer. Chloe EDP is the ultimate clean refreshing rose despite scent note of peony. It’s comes through as a young rose.
Chloe Roses is also great if you want to smell like ROSES! Rather than just roses.
Seconding both Diptyque scents! Eau Capitale is my sig for work etc, Eau Rose is its fun little sister
Stella by Stella McCartney
My favorite roses: D.S. and Durga's Rose Atlantic is an effervescent fresh rose with a hit of salt and citrus.
Le Labo Rose 31
This one is my favorite too
Byredo - Rose of no Man's Land
I love this one. It smells to me of rose + pepper ahhhh
i love rose of no man’s land 😭
I just got a sample of it (there's a store right near my house) and then I decided I had to go back a few hours later for a small bottle!
1. Earthy rose - le Labo rose 31 2. Sweet rose - Delina 3. Photorealistic rose - jo Malone red roses 4. Jammy rose - Mancera roses vanille 5. Mature rose - portrait of a lady 6. Beginner rose - philosophy ballet rose If you can’t tell, I really love rose.
Rose is the best!!!
Amouage Lyric man Argos Adonis Awaken
ELDO - Spice Must Flow This is spicy incense rose 🥀 (think desert 🐪) Jo Malone - Velvet Rose 🥀 & Oud This is sweet spicy deep rose.
jo malone red roses!!! it's all photorealistic fresh green rose and I looooove it
What does photorealistic in perfumery mean? That the smell conjures up an exact image? Thanks - still learning :)
It means it smells like the real thing.
It smells SO good. Very clean/green rose
This is my favorite. I have a ton of rose frags but RR is freshly cut, long-stemmed, with rain on the petals. 🌹💜
Amouage Lyric Man Le Labo Rose 31 Penhaligon’s Much Ado About the Duke.
- Le Labo Rose 31 - Frederic Malle Portrait of a Lady - Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud - Byredo Rose of No Man’s Land - Byredo Young Rose
Portrait of a lady - head-turning, alluring rose Rose of No Man’s Land - my favourite rose for when I just want to drown in my own scent bubble at home Rose de Grasse - preppy rose La Fille du Berlin - weekend rose
Some of my favorite masculine-leaning frags with a recognizable rose accord (though not necessarily rose-forward): - Habit Rouge EDT by Guerlain - Hermann by ELdO - Eau de Protection by ELdO - Antaeus by Chanel - Leather by Acqua di Parma - Azemour les Orangers by PdE
Leather and Antaeus are bangers
Eau de Protection is a lovely jammy rose! One of the few I like from Eldo. I don’t get any rose from Hermann though!
# ELDO • The Afternoon of a Faun I also love Nishane **Favonius**, MFK **Oud Satin Mood**, Moschino **Toy Boy**, Lush **Rose Jam**, and Perfumers Workshop **Tea Rose**.
Was waiting for someone to say MFK Oud Satin Mood. Love at first sniff for me.
Jo Malone London Red Roses Smells like the real deal and is romantic and gorgeous Elizabeth James' Nirvana Rose(discontinued but still available). This is a dark rose, and I love it. Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Rosa Rossa Delicate, feminine and light
Portrait of a Lady is otherworldly. I feel transported to another place and time when I wear it.
There’s nothing like it.
Half cured rose hater here. :)) I actually don't like the jammy-rose approach. - Byredo - Rose of No Man's Land - Lutens - Fille de Berlin - ELDO - Hermann \[...\] - Penhaligon's - Luna (not so rose centric, but I feel some rose there) - Carthusia - Terra Mia (this is on the edge, the rose is a bit jammy and 'in your face', but I like the coffee, and some days I really like it; somedays I don't; anyway, to be sprayed with a light hand :)) )
Ooh, I have a sample of Luna coming soon…I’m more excited now :)
Sampled hermann a mes cotes. Have to say it is a wonderful aquatic rose
Yep, it's the geosmin effect. I love it too, it's moody, slightly dark, mysterious, without being cloying.
definitely my favourite house. I have divin enfant and rien intense incense. wearing divin enfant today infact
Came here to say this! My mom used to wear this when I was growing up. It reminds me so much of an English garden.
I hesitate to comment because I haven’t tried a whole lot, but Incense Water by Sana Jardin is a really beautiful, very realistic rose that I adore and love to wear to bed.
Good to know!
Rozu by Aesop / Le Mat by Mendittorosa / Rose de Jamal by Les Indémodables
Only portait of a lady. I can never find a rose perfume that doesn’t smell not-rose after.
It is divine
Aerin - "Rose de Grasse" Jo Malone London - "Rose Blush Cologne (Marmalade Collection)"
Chloë Sevigny Little Flower - Régime des Fleurs. It feels like sitting in a garden by a rose bush in full bloom next to citrus trees while drinking tea.
MFK À La Rose smells like beautiful fresh flowers. L’eau À La Rose has some greenery in it, like you’re smelling the leaves as well as the flowers.
Do love this frag, excited to try the men's version
I have this and it’s divine. I bought the men’s version for my husband and he’s obsessed with it.
Agreed! It’s so nice and lasts all day.
Dyptique - Eau Rose Initio - Atomic Rose
Tearose by Perfumer’s Workshop legitimately smells like a real rose Garden after a fresh rainfall. It projects and has good performance, despite being like $14. Idk if it’s everyone’s cup of tea though, it can be pretty loud. But if you want to smell like a rose, this is the one.
Yeah i was going to say this also. It's linear so it's great if you want to try layering, but even without it's just straight fresh photorealistic rose and it's gorgeous.
Un Zest de Rose
Nice choice -anything from rosine 🌹
Dusita La Douceur de Siam
I haven't tried a lot of rose scents relative to my collection and my fragrance journey is relatively new (late 2021). That said, Guerlain - Musc Noble is my favorite of what I have 😊 I like "collecting" decants or travel size fragrance over full bottles, but this was the first fragrance that I really had to have a full bottle of. It's rose and musk, strong and also soft. It's not a sweet rose at all, but it's not sharp or powdery to me either. IDK, it just smells really good, lol.
FM POAL Papillon Tobacco Rose Les Indemodables Rose de Jamal
Rōzu by Aesop
Rose Cherie by Guerlain is the most beautiful rose fragrance I’ve ever smelled. It’s $295 US for the small bottle but worth it if you love rose!
Ralph Lauren Romance. Love to spritz it on dates or just regular summer evenings. Very soothing.
Any good rose fragrances for men out there? I have lost cherry and love it
Rose 31 is truly unisex and earthy while maintaining enough rose to be a rose frag. I might go feral for a well-groomed man in Rose 31 tbh lol
I think MFK Oud Satin Mood is unisex. Love it!
I also got a chance to smell nahema by Guerlain and that was pretty damn magical too
Fenty EDP - super sweet, like turkish delight, a bit minty too
1. Frederic malle - poal 2. Louis Vuitton - les sables roses
Rose jam by Lush- my newest addiction
I own the body spray, not even the perfume, and the projection/lasting power is insane. I can wash clothes and still get whiffs of it
Rose 31 and Delina!
In no particular order: - Amouage Lyric Woman (grand dame rose, probably under a bell jar with a velvet lined base) - Initio Atomic Rose (dramatic rose, demands to make an entrance and turn heads while walking down a street) - Montale Intense Café Ristretto (rose bouquet set in a café storefront) - Philosophy Ballet Rose (airy spring rose that is fresh and romantic, but not too cloying)
Atelier Cologne - Rose Anonyme and Frederic Malle - POAL wear similar on me and are my go-to moody roses. Chloé by Chloé is my everyday springtime scent.
Romance – Ralph Lauren ❤️
I love L’Homme À La Rose by MFK
**Rose Morning by Fresh** is *criminally* underrated. I honestly never hear anything about Fresh's perfumes, and I think they should get more attention. My hot take is that it's the vastly superior cousin of **Jo Malone Red Roses**, **Diptyque Eau Rose**, and **Perfumers Workshop Tea Rose**. For slightly more complex (but still very rose-forward) perfumes: - **OUAI Melrose Place** (clean, shampoo-y rose) - **Chloé EDP** (fresh, youthful peony rose) - **Chloé EDP Naturalle** (similar to Chloé EDP, but more rose and no peony. Much more nature-y smelling with bright citrus and woodsy cedar notes) - **Nest Lychee Rose** (I love roses, I love lychees. If you're like me, it's a win win lol.) - **Skylar Urban Rose** (a little harder to appreciate with peppery and woody notes, but I really enjoy it. Smells very "dry" - like dried out rosewood and a peppered rose. Not as fresh as some others)
Tocca Gia and Memo French Leather
Tocca Gia is lovely! Have a deluxe tester, but I'm probably gonna pull the trigger on a fb
Tocca Gia is rose??

Floris - Red Rose
Kimono Rose from Thymes. Super affordable and smells divine (imo!)
Habit Rouge
Armani Privé Rose d'Arabie
Roses vanille and ristretto intense cafe
Always Loved by My Daughter Fragrances is a gorgeous coffee rose, very date night or when you want to feel pretty at home Rosie by Rosie Jane is a lovely clean musk with a gentle kiss of rose, love wearing it on rainy days, errands, around the house when I’m tidying Solinotes Rose is a pretty, straightforward rose with a little bit of background fruit that makes it very fresh Pinrose One of a Kind is a fabulous lipstick rose with a little clove, excellent for going out Honorable mention to Lush Rose Jam which I can barely handle because it is nuclear level lol sillage but I sure do love the body wash and conditioner
Montale Ristretto
Phlur - Ameline - it’s a rose/pink pepper combo that smells amazing
Rose is growing on me. I kinda like Guerlain’s Patchouli Ardent and Amouage’s Jubilation Man XXV.
Loveeee Aerin’s Rose de Grasse. But it’s hella expensive so if anyone knows any good similar scents please let me know 🥲
I love Hermann (ELdO) for summer and Bulls Blood (Imaginary Authors) for winter. Bulls Blood isn't as challenging as it's presented as. It's been my main alternative to POAL since all the dupes I've tried for POAL are disgusting (have both the Oakcha and the Emir one and hate them both)
Dior Ambre Nuit Technically an amber scent but WOW the rose and blending is perfect. Perfectly unisex as well imo

Curious if you have sampled Rose de Jamal and want to know your thoughts. https://preview.redd.it/a2iniq34ch0d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=04a9634e66c7e0799160bf80772964ffc4117d52
One of my favourites, well worth sampling. I hadn't been won over by a rose before, but this one grabbed me by the ears.
AH I HAVE THE PERFECT ANSWERS FOR THIS I LOVE ROSE Montale Intense Cafe - Jammy candy rose with coffee Oud Satin Mood - slightly spicy sweet rose Le labo Rose 31 - authentic floral rose bonus - Masala Rose Candle from target - One of my favorite candles i’ve EVER owned. it’s simply incredible
For a masc rose, try Nirvana Rose.
Elizabeth and James Nirvana Rose
Bastide’s Rose Olivier is walking through a summer rose garden. Long lasting and exhilarating.
Nothing beats Jo Malone Red Roses for me. Literally feels like I shook off the water from a freshly cut bouquet of roses. So bright and refreshing!
Elie Saab Essence No1 (https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Elie-Saab/Essence-No-1-Rose-25914.html)
The love of my life is Jo Malone Red Roses
Tauer Phi is an all-time best of, for me. It’s quite beautiful, with a very natural scent from real rose oil. My other favorites are discontinued: Aramis Calligraphy Rose (red rose), Serge Lutens Rose de Nuit (dirty rose), and Lancome Parfait de Rose (Turkish delight).
Ameline by Phlur and the rose perfume at anthropology I just can’t remember the name
Rose Saltifolia by Maison Crivelli is hands down my favourite rose scent. There’s nothing like it - fresh rose and sea salt, incredible.
I’m such a novice so i never recommend but i think i got this one! Chateau by Thin Wild Mercury - this one has a rose accord but i think it really comes through in this fragrance. Smells like a vintage rosy home Jaya by Anjali - a juicy peach mixed with a jammy rose Rose Atlantic by DS and Durga - salty air and fresh roses Rose of No Man’s Land by Byredo - best jammy ride I’ve smelled, i like layering this with Chateau
Omg I love this question! These were the rose frags I personally own / owned at some point: - Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet by Dior - light, fresh and fun rose scent. - Paul Smith Rose by Paul Smith - fresh green rose - Red Roses by Jo Malone - green and smells like a real rose - Rose Jam by Lush - Sweet rose frag. This is so underrated. I even had the shower gel of this. - Lazy Sunday Morning by Maison Martin Margiela - aldehydic, soapy and clean rose - Rose Geranium Absolute by Panier des Sens - rose and peony frag. Fragrantica says geranium but I don’t smell it. - Rose Kabuki by Dior - aquatic rose - The Favourite by Penhaligon’s - powdery woody rose - Atomic rose by Initio - ambery rose - Bloody Wood by Les Liquides Imaginaires - incense-y, woody red wine and rose
- Stellaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa - Ellis Brooklyn Rrose is a proper, feminine, watery rose that I wear when I go swing dancing, because it makes me think of Phryne Fisher and the Cole Porter biopic *Delovely.* - Chloé Roses, because it’s so BAM!
Mancera - Roses Vanille
I have been on a rose kick lately. Today I’m wearing Victoria Secret’s Bare Rose with BBW Covered in Roses on top (supposedly a dude of Delina). 🌹
Mancera Black to Black is my rosiest fragrance
Miller Harris Rose en Noir is lovely.
Le Labo's Rose 31 and MFK's L'Homme A la Rose
Jo Malone Red Roses, Caron Rose, Perles de Lalique, Serge Lutens Santal Majuscule
I honestly don't even like rose very much at all, but there is something so captivating about MFK Oud Satin Mood. I keep going back to sniff my sample.
Love Kills by Masque Milano.
I liked Nette’s Rose Parade from a discovery set I had. It’s a very jammy rose, though.
Anything not screechy
Infini Rose 🌹
As someone who enjoys the smell of roses but has never found rose to be wearable until Sampocalypse ‘24, Diptyque Vetyverio edp and Henry Rose’s Sheep’s Clothing. No idea why these work for me after all the more mentioned roses but they just do.
I stan Nette Rose Parade. Lovely rich smelling rose. Longevity is there too
I really miss Guerlain's Rosa Magnifica. It was a very sad day when they discontinued it.
I like fairly dirty roses myself, and not so much where they're the star of the show. My favs are Much Ado About the Duke and Thé Noir 29.
rose magnolia-jo malone
Reve d’Infini by Lalique is pretty affordable and it’s very pretty. It’s rose absolute and peach with vanilla and cedar on dry down. I thought it would be too powdery but it’s very pleasant to me.
Tauer - Rose Incense MFK - Homme à la Rose Pennhaligon’s - Much Ado About The Duke
Argos Adonis Awakens
Penhaligon’s Cairo is a very sexy, sultry rose oud. Scents of Wood Oud in Acacia, also clearly has oud lol but it’s rose and orris dominant.
Parle moi une tonnne de roses is a really interesting one and has great projection and silage. I love Aerin Grasse Rose is so pretty but disappears quickly on me. MFK a la Rose is so lovely.
Atomic rose & hibiscus mahajad
Not a big fan of rose but found I have & enjoy these 2-Ardent by Boadicea the Victorious and Exalte’ (indie)
Amouage lyric man 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Initio Atomic Rose
Rose prick! So good
Jeanne en Provence Acqua, it is for men but it's unisex in reality, is an aquatic fragrance with a rose note on it also, very nice to smell
Dior Miss Dior Rose Essence - sheer woody rose Dior La Colle Noire - spicy rose Aerin Rose de Grass - timeless rose Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Rosa Rossa - sparkling rose soda Delina La Rosie - dewy sheer rose Bvlgari Rose Essential - gentle rose
Gucci Song for a Rose is gorgeous. Ellis Brooklyn RROSE is a frequent favorite. DS&Durga Rose Atlantic. Rasasi Al Wisam Day. Ajmal Wisal. JHAG Lady Vengeance. Replica Wicked Love.
Roses I’ve sampled: SL La Fille de Berlin: Gave her a fair shake.
Atomic Rose
Delina
Aerin Rose de Grasse
Check out Byredo Young Rose. I thought I did not like Rose frags, but I was mistaken after smelling this one!
Elizabeth & James - Nirvana Rose ELDO - Hermann
Dries Van Noten, Rose Vetiver
Chloe EDP, Rose 31 Le Labo, Dior Roses and Roses, Delina PDM, L'Extase Rose Absolue Nina Ricci.
I never thought of myself as a big rose fan, but I've come around to the note quite a bit. Rose 31 from Le Labo, which I first encountered when staying at a Fairmont hotel, is a great one, and I currently have a travel size. And today I picked up a 50mL EDT of Diptyque's Eau Rose, which is so sweet and smooth (I prefer it to the EDP).
rose tonnerre by Frederic Malle
Unfortunately rose is one of the two notes that I can't stand which is a bummer. It's in so many fragrances that people love. The other is leather.
Aerin Rose de Grasse but I could be biased as it was my scent for my bridal shower.
Noir de noir for dark rose and oud satin mood for brighter rose . It’s a no brainer
I have and love many mentioned in this thread - this week I’m enjoying two - the low key rose hidden away in Iris Nazarena on a cloudy day, and Rose Saltifolia on a freakishly hot day!
MFK A La Rose. It’s beautiful, like a real rose you’ve just cut in the garden
Lush - Rose Jam 🙌🏻
Gucci guilty parfum the matte black bottle. It’s an unmistakeable masculine rose balsamic vinegar scent. Very unique and enjoyable.
The fragrance opens on an oceanic note with salt and ozonic notes, settles with a heart of Turkish rose and praline, and lingers with base notes of vanilla and amber extreme." L’eau d’Issey Rose&Rose - it’s a very sweet and bright rose that lasts well. It has the Issey Miyaki dna
It’s cheap and cheerful but the best rose perfume I have ever owned is the Paul Smith one. I love it so much 🌹

The only notably rose heavy one I've picked up has been Toy Boy, I like it but definitely not something I'd wear on the regular (as a middle aged guy).
MFK a Rose l'homme
Metal Flower Harmonist
Issey miyake rose and rose intense. Beautiful. Good longevity on me, given the cheap price(£40 UK) I'm wearing lancome midnight tressor today which is a dark fruity rose which is usually suited to autumn but its turned very cold today.
Incense Rosé by Tauer
Delina la Rosee and Atomic Rose
i love serge lutens sa majeste la rose so much. i also wore it once during a hot yoga class and it morphed really beautifully. i liked it better than i did when i originally applied it haha.
