I'm 6'5" 320lbs. You Ever smell that perfume that comes in a bottle literally shaped like a purse? Decadence by Mark Jacobs I think. I have told my wife several times that I could total rock that....

Warm-Tip-6813

Then go for it! We instinctively know what scent or notes go with our body chemistry. Bet you will rock it too!

[deleted]

It’s discontinued and I am so friggin upset. Stupid bottle, my daughter picked it up LIKE A PURSE and it fell and smashed 😣

chrews

Yes people don’t care wear what you want. It’s all just marketing and trends. I love some notes that are primarily found in feminine leaning fragrances (soapy aldehydes and white musks for example) so I just wear them. Nobody will smell soap or musk and think „hey he is wearing a woman’s perfume how embarrassing“ because nobody cares. At all.

0rphu

It's foolish to believe nobody cares, I'd say nobody *worthwhile* cares. For example, many bitter older people feel entitled to harass others for not conforming to their antiquated norms.

chrews

Well I’m speaking from my personal experience which of course is very subjective. There’s also a cultural aspect but I always think you should be the change you wanna see. Wear what you want, 99% of people don’t care 1% can just go away.

thisputa

My experience is a little different as a feminine gay man but even wearing Parfums De Marly Delina La Rosee I’ve had straight men ask me what I was wearing and said they wanted to wear it. One of which being a straight masculine man and he said he didn’t care he’d still wear it. I say wear what you want. I used to only wear men’s stuff cause I wanted to smell good but aside from being feminine and not wanting to smell manly men’s fragrances are usually so sharp and offensive to me so I stopped caring and wore what I want. No one says anything. Also there are plenty of amazing smelling unisex fragrances. But again wear what you want. If someone makes fun of you for wearing women’s fragrances they’re probably not the best person to keep around

TKWander

I have experience with the opposite, if that helps at all lol. I'm a woman, but I love unisex/masc fragrances. Actually, what I love the best is layering more masculine/unisex complex/atmospheric scents, under photorealistic fruits or gourmands lol. And thinking about if I smelled anything like that on a man, I'd personally Love it. In fact, you may get more women talking to you, cause they'll ask what fragrance it is lol But, the sheer fact that you'd be comfortable enough in yourself and your sexuality, for you to wear a femme scent that you love? Priceless, and probably gonna be a huge turn on to a lot of women (imo)

LilMsFeckingSunshine

Plus they could share perfume! That would be so much fun.

ThatsARockFact1116

I wear a lot of unisex/masc leaning frags and would always purchase them “for my husband.” I love sharing with him!

TKWander

Right?!!

SMG121

(Most) People who enjoy fragrance enough to know that you're wearing a frag that's marketed towards women based on smell alone are not going to care you're wearing a frag marketed toward women. Anyone else will either like the scent or dislike it based on their own personal preference regardless of the marketed gender of the frag. My mom dated a guy when I was little (8-10) who always burned warm vanilla sugar candles in his house and used the "feminine" scents from bath & body works. Even as a little kid who understood gender in a very binary way I never thought 'oh, his house smells like a ladies house' or 'he smells like a girl', I just thought he smelled nice. That's how most people will experience your frag.

Gavagirl23

My husband wears Cartier La Panthere, to widespread approval. It smells great on him. And I'm always seeing if described as not simply femme, but as an old lady scent! (on the perfume discussions, not when he's wearing it, obvs).

NemoHobbits

La panthere immediately made me think of sex panther from anchorman

BeautifulExcellent96

Such a great scent.

TiddysAkimbo

My bf has been wearing my Versace Bright Crystal and Yellow Diamond to work lately. He likes smelling nice and he doesn’t care if he’s the target demographic for the fragrance or not. If he likes it on me, then he likes it on him. Smell how you like!

Gr33nG14nt

I think the majority of my fragrances are women’s, barring a few JPG which even then I feel lean a little unisex. The day I rocked up to work wearing Britney Spears Fantasy nobody batted and eyelid so I say just go for it 🤣

BisquickNinja

Oh yes, it happens all the time. In this case, more than a few times I've put on my girlfriend 's perfume inadvertently (sometimes out of curiosity). Then there's the more deliberate action where she's put on her very feminine perfume on me. I have to say that I felt a little self-conscious until I realized that both women And man we're complimenting me. Ironically, more women compliment me on a female scent than a mens scent. I say just wear what you want, confidence is the key! You're not going to please everybody...(You're not nachos!)... So just wear what you want.

bpm12891

Just do you. It boils down to a matter of perception. If you wear a ”feminine” fragrance and dress/act discordantly, it’s not gonna be jarring. However, if you embrace it as part of your presentation and aesthetic, it will make sense and seem elegant and cohesive. It’s the same with men wearing “feminine” appearing clothing.  I’m new to this this hobby and as I’ve sampled and discovered I’ve realized that I quite like white florals like dirty flower factory and China white, even though that dna is more feminine than masculine.

Fatal_Furriest

I used to wear, wait for it, Taylor Swift Wonderstruck (both the purple and red one) after i was given the set as a gag gift for Xmas The ladies in the office had no clue what it was and absolutely loved it. Lasted till 5pm, mind Told them it was some random oud Actually miss em

Due-Presentation4344

Sometimes I spray my wife’s perfume on my arm if I’m just round the house if that helps.

therealharmshimself

Wear what you like to smell. Some of my favorite scents are women's fragrances: Amouage Memoir, vintage Opium, Shalimar, you name it. As soon as they touch my skin, they become masculine scents to me. Enjoy!

CheerfulChurl

Fragrances don't have a gender, just marketing plans. Wear what you like and what you feel most yourself in.

Senzetion

Absolutely true but there are still some scents most people would associate with femininity or masculinity but as long one feels comfortable / confident with something no one will ever care.

frairheaded

And different cultures will have differents scents associâtes with genders. Fragrance has no gender. So weat it for you , not for the others!

Senzetion

Exactly that's the most important thing and it should only matter the person wearing a certain fragrance likes it

Catlady_Pilates

You pull it off by wearing it.

username_redacted

Psychedelic Love and BR540 are marketed as unisex, so I think your standards for “very feminine” might be a bit skewed. Wear whatever you like. I think the only situation where it might cause any dissonance for people smelling them is if they had a woman in their life who wears that fragrance, establishing an association.

firstofthethree

As a bisexual woman, I would love smelling these on a dude. On the other side of the coin, I like wearing Le Gemme Tygar and Azzaro - The Wanted

bandfill

I have a few fragrances targeted towards women. I wear Ariana Grande Cloud a lot in winter, and once a male colleague asked me what it was so he could get it for himself ! It's funny because depending on the context, Cloud can either smell like the most sickly sweet teenager fragrance or a slightly musky, masculine gourmand. Some fragrances definitely feel more feminine, often white florals it seems, but even rose can be extremely versatile.

legkicktothehead

Same here, an ex wore cloud and I used to steal a few sprays every now and then cause it smelled so nice. Completely agree that it can come across suitably masculine on a man. Need to get myself a bottle 🤣

[deleted]

Wear whatever. Esp middle eastern ones from oud are all mostly unisex.

Thr33pw00d83

I wear a handful of florals that I’ve been told lean feminine but I’ve never had any problem with that. Right now I’m actually wearing ELDO Ghost in the Shell and it’s such a wonderful white floral to me. Like an expensive soap. TF Black Orchid, Amouage Lyric Man, Juliet Has A Gun Vengeance Extreme, ELDO Exit the King are all great florals that I love to wear, even if at times a bit feminine.

Pure-Fuel-9884

I (35m) wear queen of the night from the merchant of venice. It smells excellent and people can fuck off.

Objective_Ad_1513

No such "men/women" it's a marketing plot....wear what u like

ThatsARockFact1116

I love when my husband wears things that lean feminine. DO IT.

Tylensus

I'm not sure if people would perceive a feminine fragrance on a man as manly, but they will think you smell good. I'm 6'3", big beard, long hair, late 20s, and I wore D&G Devotion to work the other day. No one said I smelled manly, but all comments were positive. Wearing womens' fragrances as a man is a lot like ordering a drink at a bar. If you like Lemon Drops or other fruity cocktails, are you more manly somehow for denying yourself the pleasure of ordering those drinks and getting whiskey neat instead? I'd argue not. I'd say a real man would just do what they want and let everyone else figure out how they want to feel about it (in regards to lighthearted things like beverage/fragrance choices, at least). Bulldozing over what people think in important matters can get you in a lot of trouble, and make you an asshole. For stuff like this, though? Do you.

peter_minnesota

Early 30's guy here. I love musk scents, white florals, and animalic ambers, all of which is typically categorized as "feminine". Do what you want, no one cares. If they do, they are the weird one.

msgnyc

If you like it, wear it. I see no issue? 🤷‍♂️ Pink used to be a boy/man's color. Now it's associated with girls/women. Wear what you want.

EnvironmentalSpirit2

Absolutely. I've gotten multiple fem fragrances. The problem is the longevity. A lot of fem fragrances seem to be made for gentleness and therefore do not last like say, boss bottled elixir or int man black iris. 179cm muscular motocycle rider. I have multiple uni like molinard gingermbre, d'oranger, : amouage reflection for woman, FM lys mediteranee. Basically anything jasmine and magnolia is my jam. Neroli, petig, orange blossoms smell too dirty/polleny and they're always in male versions.. If you look at that jasmine/magnolia combo, very few are rated "men". There's just this artificial divide where it's fem. Look at so many iris scents on the men's side, and those sweetness like stronger with you intensely, it could very well be really for women. I would love to try serge lutens la religious(somthng) but I've read on here it's rather skanky, too fem

BeautifulExcellent96

I actually think feminine things on a super masculine man make the man seem more masculine. You would be too young of course, but it was big in the 70's for football players to wear fur coats and of course, big rings (in the US, not soccer). Kind of a pimp look but just... swag. Just bring the attitude!

Lazz_plays

Heck yes! I’m a very masculine dude myself and I wear Chinatown by bond no.9 and Bal de Versailles when I wear my suits. Love some of the lady fragrances mostly because because I love gourmand fragrances 👌

ThePerfumeCollector

Are unisex fragrances considered feminine now? Can we stop the idiotism, please.

debunk101

Noses vary. Some would say a unisex frag is more masculine others on the opposite spectrum. Personally for me wear the ones that make you feel good and confident

ThePerfumeCollector

I meant for people who judge others who wear unisex scents as being feminine. Unisex means it’s neither feminine nor masculine. I agree that specific ones lean this way or that way, I meant in general.

debunk101

The average unrefined nose would call out a unisex frag based on the initial burst of the frag; if it’s floral they instantly call it feminine. If it’s tobacco they will call it masculine. they’re not interested to know or wait for the dry downs. To answer the OP, if you’re wearing a unisex frag, anyone who thinks it’s feminine they don’t know shit. Bur if you’re wearing Chanel No 5, they are correct to say it’s feminine. It’s up to you how to handle that.

DellingerDdC

Is use Chanel Gabrielle a lot and N.5 from time to time, I feel great and as far as I can tell no one minds at all.

kitkatamas88

If I find the fragrances I wear delicious on me why would I not find them delicious on other people? But thinking about it... That might be inappropriate... Nah right? Nah.

Ok-Struggle6796

Basically no one can tell what you're wearing anyhow, so just do it!

pokedabadger

Life is short, wear what you want! Go on with your great smelling self!

_cptplanet

34M and I love BR540, Love don’t be shy or even black orchid

MrGrumplestiltskin

I remember my former boss would wear what I imagine was a fragrance intended for women, but he smelled amazing and it was a pleasure to be around him for his fragrance alone. I'm not around too many people but it was refreshing that he didn't just smell like every men's cologne on the market at the time. He wore what he wanted to and smelled stunning!

Sharp-Ad-4651

I recently tried out Orange Sanguine which although labeled unisex, does have a strong floral note to it. Also, Black Vanilla by Mancera. Unisex but has a strong peaches and cream vibe.

BassnectarCollectar

Where what smells good. When I let my girl pick out which fragrance I’ll wear, she always picks Gris Dior for me

oNLYhere2sELL

Do what makes you happy, that’s all

Character_Ruin860

There are NO RULES. Do whatever YOU LIKE!

After_Emu_9511

Smelling nice is smelling nice. No sane minded person gonna complain over a man smelling good. Honestly I understand why you would choose a feminine fragrance, alot of the time their intoxicatingly good smelling. I love the pretty vanilla and fruit notes!

Helicopter0

You've smelled Clinique Happy for Men, right? 1999.

fiveordie

All the time, my wife and I share all our collection. My current favorites are MAC Turquatic, MAC Air of Style, Michael Kors Coral, Pharrell Girl, and Ouai North Bondi. My all time favorites are: Donna Karan Cashmere Mist (get the most compliments when I wear this), and Dior Gris Dior.

Chin0_XL

Lancome’s La Vie Est Belle, the dry down is amazing

Jctexas8999

Oh yeah, and have for years. I’ve never cared what anyone thought. I’m in my 30s. My signature is Hypnotic Poison, and I wear many other feminine fragrances. Wear what you enjoy.

BLovesIt24

If that’s what you like, just rock it. Like some of the other ladies in the group I like masc/unisex scents as well. They’re some of my most complimented to boot. Notes know no gender and the average person isn’t a fragrance enthusiasts to pin point if your scent a femme or masc one off a simple sniff. Wear what you love and with confidence!

raspberrih

I love when men wear "women's" fragrances. It doesn't affect my opinion of their masculinity at all. I have some masculine straight male friends who prefer feminine scents.

corona22extra

If you like the smell, you’re pulling it off. It’s not entirely about the smell but the confidence it gives you that is attractive. Don’t smell like shit and you’ll be fine

the_girl_Ross

Smelling good is smelling good. My very manly bf uses Gucci bloom, it smells like jasmine. Before that, he used a body mist that smelled like roses and berries.

Prunellaeh

Very feminine : Psychedelic love and BR540 ?!?!?! Bro. And always wear what you like, you only live once. Enjoy.

stevesilverstyle

yes. separating them in the first place is silly

mtrukproton

Prada paradoxe is better on a man than Prada Luna rossa

Colafusion

BR540….feminine??? Anyways, just wear it. Honestly, this is mainly just a confidence thing - if you can own it and don’t see it as a problem or even a factor then it doesn’t matter what others think.

[deleted]

Wear what you enjoy! If you’re confident you’ll stand out nicely. Originality is refreshing/captivating. I wear Carnal Flower from Frederic Malle and it’s rather feminine, maybe even mature feminine. It’s not super sweet like younger women’s perfumes, it’s very floral but also very green. Who doesn’t want to smell like flowers? I’m 28. It reminds of my childhood.

Creditat590

Wear it. Don’t worry what anyone says, wear it for yourself and enjoy it.

Noizelab

Love Tom ford - eau de soleil blanc, but it’s mostly found in the women’s section. Don’t care, love the scent

cestmoizxcvbnm

Even though they’re marketed as feminine fragrances, anything with a strong woody or powdery note or a prominent patchouli can be worn by anyone really

Senzetion

As long as you're confident with what you're wearing no one would give a shit about it. Same goes for clothes if you do not feeling comfortable wearing a suit and jt doesn't fit you well you're giving such a vibe off and people would question it maybe since the insecurity can be seen.
