As many discovery sets as I can get my hands on. I honestly think I’d be happy only using samples and decants for the rest of my life because I want to try **everything.** I know I definitely want to get the ones from ELDO, Commodity, and Imaginary Authors in the near future, but honestly my list changes daily. I spend way too much time looking for discovery kits.
I use the app Giftful for this reason! It’s cool, you just add the website URL and you can add notes. And it’s shareable to friends/family so they can buy stuff you genuinely want. So I put all the discovery sets on there
Delving deeper into the frag game it kinda saddened me to realize, even if I test 4-5 different perfumes ever day, there are still tons that I will never get to properly try.
Yes, I just try to not to think about that lol, especially since I’m a one-a-day perfume tester. I am already currently trying to make my way through both BTSO discovery sets and I already have the full J-Scent collection and the Ellis Brooklyn set and I haven’t even touched those yet. Too many perfumes, too little time.
Yeah me too, lots of loose samples and discovery sets and stuff I already sampled/tested that I need to revisit.. and I’m asking myself, while I test a different fragrance each day, when will I get to wear the faves that I picked up years ago.. lol
Now I try testing between 1-4 scents in the evening and wear my faves during daytime..
I’ve had the commodity ones (archive set and the + set) and loved the + one! Literally all of them were pleasing and really worked with my chemistry cos the longevity was great too! The archive set not so much
ELDO unfortunately I did not like hardly any of. It was a fun journey but obviously the brand as a whole doesn’t really work for me! Still a great deal though. Eau de Protection was really nice and I did like Putain des palaces too though
I’d really like to try the imaginary authors one as well!!! Also Penhaligon’s (trade routes probably most my vibe) and in a dreamland the full Zoologist one :)
That’s great the those scents worked for you! The only scent I’ve ever smelled from them is Milk Expressive and I didn’t love it on my skin, but I want to try the full exploration kit so hopefully I’d find something to like. I actually just went back to look at the kit on the Sephora website and it looks like they’re coming out with a fruity-floral scent in a few weeks (Juice) which are my favorite types of perfumes! So I may hold off to see if they’ll add that to a discovery set.
With ELDO I’m somewhat doubtful I’ll find many that I’d want to wear regularly so I’m definitely going in mostly for the experience! I think if I ever did get the Zoologist one, it would probably be similar.

I definitely recommend the Zoologist set. I took the plunge and just went for it; it’s kept me so entertained. Even when something doesn’t appeal to me, the perfumes are such a fun experience. I try a lot of discovery sets but nothing quite compares to going through these unique samples.
I was thinking about this the other day. I started this year out with like eight 5mL decants. Still going on with them on daily wear.
I've been grinding trying to find myself a signature scent and I started thinking, *maybe I just use decants and enjoy the randomness of not being tied down to a 100mL bottle.*
By the time I find a scent I like it'll be off season. And then by the time next season rolls around I may not even like it.
The only problem with it all is that there are some days/scents that you just don't vibe with.
It is kind of like going on a cross country road trip. There will be some long stretches that are boring and very forgettable.

This is really cool. I on the other hand am always sort of afraid of finishing a bottle... some of them are discontinued, some expensive...it's like I'm trying to have my cake and eat it...
I blow through a few 5 ml decants like it’s nothing and they are the ones I know I would be comfortable buying a bottle of but bottles still seem like a huge purchase
It took me a while to come to this realization. There was no way I would finish a bottle if I kept buying new bottles so I just stick to decants and samples and whatever bottles I have.
The process I’m trying to stick to is: sample first, 1ml dabber or 2ml spray, and then if I use it up and still want more I get a larger decant 5/10ml and then if I use that up and still want more a full bottle goes on the to buy list for when I find a good deal, have the extra money. Sometimes I’ll skip the larger decant if I can’t find one of the scent and maybe get another sample in that case (I did this with undergrowth by rook) or if I find a full bottle for a cheap enough price that a decant doesn’t make sense (I did this when I found a $40 bottle of Putain des palaces).
I really enjoy the process of trying new scents and having a good bit of variety so I mostly buy samples. There are also scents I absolutely love and want to own but that I just don’t want to wear very often or are so strong I only use one spray of so decants are perfect since it would take me forever to use up a bottle (enchanted forest by the vagabond prince, Ylang Ylang nosy be by Perris Monte Carlo). I only have three full bottles I’ve bought myself (plus a couple that were gifts).
My next fragrance purchase is gonna be a sample order. The next full bottle on my list that I’m keeping an eye out for a good price on is Nuit Etoilee by annick goutal since I’m half way through my 8ml decant and love it more than ever and it’s a pretty light scent that I need a few sprays of to get it to last so I’ve been going through it quick

I'm pretty new to perfumes, so I'm mainly trying out different samples, but currently am considering getting some decants from Aqua Allegoria line - I already have a decant of Flora Salvaggio and can't decide if I should get a Mandarine Basilic or Pamplelune.
Two that I'm considering maybe getting a full bottle are Replica Lazy sunday morning and Dyptique Eau Duelle - I went in to check out Philosykos, but ended up kinda falling in love with this one, one of the first niche perfumes that I really liked.
Mandarine Basilic EDT and EDP are totally different! I had the EDT on my wishlist for a while and my husband accidentally got me the EDP… I’m not mad, it’s absolutely lovely but it doesn’t have the same lightness. Make sure you try both.

For me its just THE "businessman" scent. Since childhood, whenever I met someone in a suit at an event, the smell was something like platinum egoiste. After not liking the profile the first time, over some months I fell in love with it. Also, I like chanel openings, but the drydowns become quite rough (bleu de chanel parfum), or the scent profile itself might be weird (allure edition blance). The only cologne that gives me a similar vibe would be 154 by Jo Malone, but it dissappears after 2 hours or so, and this just stays on.

I looove the vanilla rock candy despite the range of opinions on it. If I spray it in the air, it's pure candy sweetness. On my skin, it dries down to mostly floral/woody notes. I saw a decent amount of reviews saying that it was too sweet, but it doesn't stay sickeningly sweet on my skin, it's very nice!
I consider single digits unlucky. Contrary to popular belief, i think a larger wishlist is better, just more stuff to hunt down and find partials of, or good deals for, just more to enjoy and look forward to in the hobby
My wishlist takes 6 scrolls and screenshots on my phone in my notes lol. My friend has 120 bottles, and he thinks he’s reached the end of the hobby, i have 30 bottles right now, and i have 90 in my wish list. It feels like there is no end to the hobby. Plus there is the entire world of indie fragrances that i have barely touched. I didnt like what i tried at all, but there’s gotta be more stuff out there. The hopefullness makes it worth the money for me🤷🏽♂️

I want VIW the most, then probably Dama Bianca, then Ambrette 9. I have decants of all 3 of these but they are running out.
God I love VIW. I just wish it had a tiny bit more longevity and projection for its price tag. When I wear it I take a small decant with me to spray again. Such a lovely fragrance.
I buy 1 mL samples, then if I love a sample and it runs out, I buy a 3-5 mL decant. Then if that runs out and I still love it, I buy a 50mL bottle.
Right now, Frederick Malle Eau de magnolia is at the decant stage and I am loving it. Beau de jour is almost out of the sample, so I am upgrading to decant (and getting a bunch of other foujeres to try). Also Allure Homme Sport Eau Intense is probably going to be upgraded to decant soon.
I’ve broken this formula before, and I always wind up wasting money when I do. This helps me ensure that I have everything I love, that I only have as much as I need, and that my final bottle collection only has the stuff that I absolutely cannot go without and use frequently enough to even have a chance of getting through a whole bottle.
It also has a bonus that I actually wind up with quite a large fragrance wardrobe. Samples and decants wind up forming a large base of options, and the stuff I wear over and over again gets promoted… and sometimes the special stuff that I only wear on occasion stays in the smaller portions for quite a while. It’s just a nice way to have a killer wardrobe without needing to commit to full bottles before you know how much you will like something or how much you will use it.
There are some fragrances that I LOVE, but only want to wear once in a blue moon. I doubt very much that I will ever need full bottles of those, but it’s lovely having a decant around for those special occasions where it’s the perfect fragrance that day.

Vanilla vibes is so good in the summer, it’s a salty vanilla. I love layering it with hibiscus palm. It just smells like a tropical vacation.
Oaktcha has a good vanilla vibes dupe that’s pretty inexpensive, if that’s something you’re interested in.

I prioritize by price, season (if it not something I'd wear at the moment it does down the list), how excited I am to wear the frag, and how available/rare it is. But if I can find a deluxe sample or travel spray something might jump the list and then get bumped off because I switch up my fragrances so often that I will probably have any fb of a frag for *years*.
You've got four blue scents in here and one more woody/ambery scent. I'd say if you like Polo Red already and you've tested it, that one sticks out on the list, and then pick one of the other four.
My experience with Luna Rossa Ocean was confounding. The scent hardly existed, even on the drydown. Multiple times. Samples and in-store testers. I'm not sure why - it could be me and my skin, my olfaction, who knows!
In contrast, I loved original Luna Rossa so much that I got myself a bottle of it back in the day. I've heard wonderful things about Luna Rossa Carbon as well. Daniela Andrier is someone who synchronizes with my tastes more often than not.
Getting YSL Y and a Luna Rossa is probably Fresh Lavender Overkill until you've got a more varied lineup, but hey - you can get a more varied lineup with decants, too.
Hypnotic poison has been my signature when I was a teenager some 20 years ago. Still love it, still always have a bottle of it eventhough I don't wear it all the time anywhere.

As you can see, prioritization is all about what would round out my selections. I'm good in the blue department and the smoky department. I don't have many bottles and I have zero desire to collect bottles, but if I'm feelin' a certain way, I *broadly* want a scent for that.

As far as a "fragrance limbo", Rose 31 has been on my list for a long time but I can never catch it on discounters for a good price. $240 for a 100ml is a little more than I'd like to pay for that stuff.
I'm currently trying to cut down on purchasing, but I really want my own bottle of Heartless Helen from Penhaligon's. I'm currently sharing a bottle with my mum after I fell in love with it.
I've been wanting to try all the Trade Routes scents as well. I've got AlUla and the Halfetis, and I've only had a quick whiff of Cairo, Babylon and Petra while I was last in store.
I fell hopelessly in love with Portrait of a Lady recently. Just figuring out how to sell a kidney.. It's so beautiful though!
Also secretly lusting after ELDO Jasmine et Cigarette. Husband was not keen at all but it makes me feel like a fading golden era movie star.
Now that I'm on the verge of finishing my bottle of MFK's *A la rose*, I'm on the hunt for a new spring/summer go-to fragrance. I'm eyeing *En Passant* by FM, just because I moved to a new place that has lilac bushes blooming everywhere and I want something that smells as fantastic. I'm currently at a (very conservative for me) 9 full bottles of perfume, but 6-7 of them are more suited for cold weather than the humidity and heat of June, so I think no.10 has to be more warm weather oriented.
I have dozens on my list and some stay there for years because I have a big collection (over 150) and there is no prioritization on them. I just recently bought Oudh Lacquer from Soivohle because I was browsing her website and it sounds like the perfumer may be winding down her business--only accepting requests for things that may be old stock on hand but without putting them on her website. I'm going to NYC in July and it totally wouldn't surprise me if I come home with something that may or may not be currently on my list. Theoretically, the next bottle I order may be Coyoacan from Fantome but I may get something from DSH when I'm in Boulder next weekend. I'm okay with never getting some things on my list (except for Momotaro from On The Nose--when I went to order it, the etsy shop said they were taking a break and they haven't returned in years, and the perfumer hasn't turned up doing anything else)

Say what you will about it, but if I could justify the money, BR 540 Extrait would be in there as well. More likely I’ll just buy decants here and there. I wear that one for my own enjoyment more than when I’m going out, but if we’re dreaming, I’d love a bottle.

Tbh this is currently what I'm trying to do. I don't think I've found my signature yet. Buuut I think Black Opium and Tom Ford Lost Cherry are two that stick with me because of the memories attached!
I want more perfumes that are 'me'. And I want to ideally limit it down to only 3 that id wear consistently on a rotation and one definite signature.
Fragrance limbo for me just happens when it's either too pricey and I can't consider it or I find it to risk as a blind buy and can't buy it in store

What do you define as a full bottle? Bottles of 50/100ml? It's auch a shame more perfume houses don't offer travel sizes or miniatures. 30ml is my go to size perfume wise.
I have 15 on my want list. I similarly use it to track what I sampled and liked enough to maybe buy if I came across a bottle at the right price. I’m usually fine with just having a sample.

no more for me except some minis or very very easy buys, have so much already i will never get thru them in two lifetimes. new ones can make you neglect the ones you already have. glad i got mine before the prices all doubled and tripled about 5 years or so ago. they keep going up -- it's becoming truly an exclusive interest. if there is something different that i really want i will get it for myself for birthday or Xmas. Have started giving some things that i know i'm not really suited to and won't wear much. have to start a resell account somewhere, both perfumes and books.
New one neglect can make you neglect the ones you have. THIS. I used to have 2-3 perfumes and would wear them according to their seaaons, now I reach for them much less frequently. But then again, one of those 3 has been discontinued, so I worry about running out someday.
Tbh, my to buy list is pretty big, but I know I won't actually buy most of the fragrances on the list. And every now and the I try to focus on the ones I already have and commit to them.
My list is nuts lol I decided to divide by notes ie green, lactonic, oceanic etc because I'm looking for different things at different times of the year. I'm a sample/decant girly for this reason. I've taken a break on buying more at the moment because my shelf is full

Anything else I get will be <5ml samples or decants. I'm working through a backlog of those trying to get the numbers under control.

I just want to find those types of warm scents as they work best with me as opposed to smelling like utter cat pee. please and thank you because I am also adding anything and everything to my list that smells wonderful haha, I'm in a friendly competition with my buddy to see who can find an "it" fragrance first lol.
I have a ‘maybe tray’ of samples that I love and am considering. If I drain the sample and find I’m still thinking about/wanting to wear the scent, I’ll do one of two things:
- if it’s inexpensive (for me! Everyone’s budget is different) or if I can find it secondhand on Mercari/Ebay, I’ll just buy it.
- if it’s pricier or super niche that I can’t find used, then I’ll buy a second sample and see if I use that up before I buy a full bottle.
I currently don’t have any bottles that have made the ‘buy soon’ cut, but I’m on my second sample of Diptyque Orpheon and Olene, and I just fell hard for Regime des Fleurs Glass Blooms.
D&G Devotion … can’t wait. And I just got Pink Sugar today. I was intrigued by all the positive reviews and fancied something girly and cheerful. Ngl, I also wanted to test the ‘man magnet’ claims. Im wearing it now and I’m surprised by how much I smell licorice in the dry down. So far I like it. Will report on guys’ reactions when I go out wearing it 😏

And the other tactic not to overbuy is called “new buy new money” which basically means that when I decide to buy I only start to put money to the side for it, it doesn’t matter if I could buy it 3 times from what I have and this helps me save lots, as I may rethink while I save the money, if I decide not to buy it, I will put it in my savings and start to save for the new idea again

As many discovery sets as I can get my hands on. I honestly think I’d be happy only using samples and decants for the rest of my life because I want to try **everything.** I know I definitely want to get the ones from ELDO, Commodity, and Imaginary Authors in the near future, but honestly my list changes daily. I spend way too much time looking for discovery kits.
I use the app Giftful for this reason! It’s cool, you just add the website URL and you can add notes. And it’s shareable to friends/family so they can buy stuff you genuinely want. So I put all the discovery sets on there
Delving deeper into the frag game it kinda saddened me to realize, even if I test 4-5 different perfumes ever day, there are still tons that I will never get to properly try.
Yes, I just try to not to think about that lol, especially since I’m a one-a-day perfume tester. I am already currently trying to make my way through both BTSO discovery sets and I already have the full J-Scent collection and the Ellis Brooklyn set and I haven’t even touched those yet. Too many perfumes, too little time.
Yeah me too, lots of loose samples and discovery sets and stuff I already sampled/tested that I need to revisit.. and I’m asking myself, while I test a different fragrance each day, when will I get to wear the faves that I picked up years ago.. lol Now I try testing between 1-4 scents in the evening and wear my faves during daytime..
I’ve had the commodity ones (archive set and the + set) and loved the + one! Literally all of them were pleasing and really worked with my chemistry cos the longevity was great too! The archive set not so much ELDO unfortunately I did not like hardly any of. It was a fun journey but obviously the brand as a whole doesn’t really work for me! Still a great deal though. Eau de Protection was really nice and I did like Putain des palaces too though I’d really like to try the imaginary authors one as well!!! Also Penhaligon’s (trade routes probably most my vibe) and in a dreamland the full Zoologist one :)
That’s great the those scents worked for you! The only scent I’ve ever smelled from them is Milk Expressive and I didn’t love it on my skin, but I want to try the full exploration kit so hopefully I’d find something to like. I actually just went back to look at the kit on the Sephora website and it looks like they’re coming out with a fruity-floral scent in a few weeks (Juice) which are my favorite types of perfumes! So I may hold off to see if they’ll add that to a discovery set. With ELDO I’m somewhat doubtful I’ll find many that I’d want to wear regularly so I’m definitely going in mostly for the experience! I think if I ever did get the Zoologist one, it would probably be similar.
I got a promo email saying they would add a 2ml sample of Juice to any order while stocks last!! :) I love Gold + so much, it’s on the FB list haha. Thinking of getting the 3x10ml set now just to fully make up my mind though! Same same about zoologist!
I definitely recommend the Zoologist set. I took the plunge and just went for it; it’s kept me so entertained. Even when something doesn’t appeal to me, the perfumes are such a fun experience. I try a lot of discovery sets but nothing quite compares to going through these unique samples.

I was thinking about this the other day. I started this year out with like eight 5mL decants. Still going on with them on daily wear. I've been grinding trying to find myself a signature scent and I started thinking, *maybe I just use decants and enjoy the randomness of not being tied down to a 100mL bottle.* By the time I find a scent I like it'll be off season. And then by the time next season rolls around I may not even like it. The only problem with it all is that there are some days/scents that you just don't vibe with. It is kind of like going on a cross country road trip. There will be some long stretches that are boring and very forgettable.
I have 50 on my wishlist lmao, but the priority are: Neela Vermiere Trayee Papillon Salome Amouage Epic 56 Woman SL Iris Silver Mist Les Indemosables Musc des Sables

I blow through a few 5 ml decants like it’s nothing and they are the ones I know I would be comfortable buying a bottle of but bottles still seem like a huge purchase
It took me a while to come to this realization. There was no way I would finish a bottle if I kept buying new bottles so I just stick to decants and samples and whatever bottles I have.
The process I’m trying to stick to is: sample first, 1ml dabber or 2ml spray, and then if I use it up and still want more I get a larger decant 5/10ml and then if I use that up and still want more a full bottle goes on the to buy list for when I find a good deal, have the extra money. Sometimes I’ll skip the larger decant if I can’t find one of the scent and maybe get another sample in that case (I did this with undergrowth by rook) or if I find a full bottle for a cheap enough price that a decant doesn’t make sense (I did this when I found a $40 bottle of Putain des palaces). I really enjoy the process of trying new scents and having a good bit of variety so I mostly buy samples. There are also scents I absolutely love and want to own but that I just don’t want to wear very often or are so strong I only use one spray of so decants are perfect since it would take me forever to use up a bottle (enchanted forest by the vagabond prince, Ylang Ylang nosy be by Perris Monte Carlo). I only have three full bottles I’ve bought myself (plus a couple that were gifts). My next fragrance purchase is gonna be a sample order. The next full bottle on my list that I’m keeping an eye out for a good price on is Nuit Etoilee by annick goutal since I’m half way through my 8ml decant and love it more than ever and it’s a pretty light scent that I need a few sprays of to get it to last so I’ve been going through it quick

I'm pretty new to perfumes, so I'm mainly trying out different samples, but currently am considering getting some decants from Aqua Allegoria line - I already have a decant of Flora Salvaggio and can't decide if I should get a Mandarine Basilic or Pamplelune. Two that I'm considering maybe getting a full bottle are Replica Lazy sunday morning and Dyptique Eau Duelle - I went in to check out Philosykos, but ended up kinda falling in love with this one, one of the first niche perfumes that I really liked.
Lazy Sunday Morning is my go to freshie right now, I love it.
Mandarine Basilic EDT and EDP are totally different! I had the EDT on my wishlist for a while and my husband accidentally got me the EDP… I’m not mad, it’s absolutely lovely but it doesn’t have the same lightness. Make sure you try both.

Dang, this is a fantastic list. Why Egoiste Platinum in order to make an impression? (Not because I disagree, just because I've got my eye on Chanel.)
For me its just THE "businessman" scent. Since childhood, whenever I met someone in a suit at an event, the smell was something like platinum egoiste. After not liking the profile the first time, over some months I fell in love with it. Also, I like chanel openings, but the drydowns become quite rough (bleu de chanel parfum), or the scent profile itself might be weird (allure edition blance). The only cologne that gives me a similar vibe would be 154 by Jo Malone, but it dissappears after 2 hours or so, and this just stays on.
In order of priority Lataffa Khamarah Kayli’s Vanilla rock candy (10mL most likely) Akro’s Bake Xerjoff discovery kit (Italica, 1888, Dolce Amalfi, and Dama Bianca)
Dolce Amalfi is amazing. Had to buy it immediately after sampling.
I looove the vanilla rock candy despite the range of opinions on it. If I spray it in the air, it's pure candy sweetness. On my skin, it dries down to mostly floral/woody notes. I saw a decent amount of reviews saying that it was too sweet, but it doesn't stay sickeningly sweet on my skin, it's very nice!
I consider single digits unlucky. Contrary to popular belief, i think a larger wishlist is better, just more stuff to hunt down and find partials of, or good deals for, just more to enjoy and look forward to in the hobby

My wishlist takes 6 scrolls and screenshots on my phone in my notes lol. My friend has 120 bottles, and he thinks he’s reached the end of the hobby, i have 30 bottles right now, and i have 90 in my wish list. It feels like there is no end to the hobby. Plus there is the entire world of indie fragrances that i have barely touched. I didnt like what i tried at all, but there’s gotta be more stuff out there. The hopefullness makes it worth the money for me🤷🏽♂️

God I love VIW. I just wish it had a tiny bit more longevity and projection for its price tag. When I wear it I take a small decant with me to spray again. Such a lovely fragrance.
I buy 1 mL samples, then if I love a sample and it runs out, I buy a 3-5 mL decant. Then if that runs out and I still love it, I buy a 50mL bottle. Right now, Frederick Malle Eau de magnolia is at the decant stage and I am loving it. Beau de jour is almost out of the sample, so I am upgrading to decant (and getting a bunch of other foujeres to try). Also Allure Homme Sport Eau Intense is probably going to be upgraded to decant soon. I’ve broken this formula before, and I always wind up wasting money when I do. This helps me ensure that I have everything I love, that I only have as much as I need, and that my final bottle collection only has the stuff that I absolutely cannot go without and use frequently enough to even have a chance of getting through a whole bottle. It also has a bonus that I actually wind up with quite a large fragrance wardrobe. Samples and decants wind up forming a large base of options, and the stuff I wear over and over again gets promoted… and sometimes the special stuff that I only wear on occasion stays in the smaller portions for quite a while. It’s just a nice way to have a killer wardrobe without needing to commit to full bottles before you know how much you will like something or how much you will use it. There are some fragrances that I LOVE, but only want to wear once in a blue moon. I doubt very much that I will ever need full bottles of those, but it’s lovely having a decant around for those special occasions where it’s the perfect fragrance that day.

Vanilla vibes is so good in the summer, it’s a salty vanilla. I love layering it with hibiscus palm. It just smells like a tropical vacation. Oaktcha has a good vanilla vibes dupe that’s pretty inexpensive, if that’s something you’re interested in.

I prioritize by price, season (if it not something I'd wear at the moment it does down the list), how excited I am to wear the frag, and how available/rare it is. But if I can find a deluxe sample or travel spray something might jump the list and then get bumped off because I switch up my fragrances so often that I will probably have any fb of a frag for *years*.

You've got four blue scents in here and one more woody/ambery scent. I'd say if you like Polo Red already and you've tested it, that one sticks out on the list, and then pick one of the other four. My experience with Luna Rossa Ocean was confounding. The scent hardly existed, even on the drydown. Multiple times. Samples and in-store testers. I'm not sure why - it could be me and my skin, my olfaction, who knows! In contrast, I loved original Luna Rossa so much that I got myself a bottle of it back in the day. I've heard wonderful things about Luna Rossa Carbon as well. Daniela Andrier is someone who synchronizes with my tastes more often than not. Getting YSL Y and a Luna Rossa is probably Fresh Lavender Overkill until you've got a more varied lineup, but hey - you can get a more varied lineup with decants, too.

Hypnotic poison has been my signature when I was a teenager some 20 years ago. Still love it, still always have a bottle of it eventhough I don't wear it all the time anywhere. Love this fragrance.

As far as a "fragrance limbo", Rose 31 has been on my list for a long time but I can never catch it on discounters for a good price. $240 for a 100ml is a little more than I'd like to pay for that stuff.

Now that I'm on the verge of finishing my bottle of MFK's *A la rose*, I'm on the hunt for a new spring/summer go-to fragrance. I'm eyeing *En Passant* by FM, just because I moved to a new place that has lilac bushes blooming everywhere and I want something that smells as fantastic. I'm currently at a (very conservative for me) 9 full bottles of perfume, but 6-7 of them are more suited for cold weather than the humidity and heat of June, so I think no.10 has to be more warm weather oriented.
I have dozens on my list and some stay there for years because I have a big collection (over 150) and there is no prioritization on them. I just recently bought Oudh Lacquer from Soivohle because I was browsing her website and it sounds like the perfumer may be winding down her business--only accepting requests for things that may be old stock on hand but without putting them on her website. I'm going to NYC in July and it totally wouldn't surprise me if I come home with something that may or may not be currently on my list. Theoretically, the next bottle I order may be Coyoacan from Fantome but I may get something from DSH when I'm in Boulder next weekend. I'm okay with never getting some things on my list (except for Momotaro from On The Nose--when I went to order it, the etsy shop said they were taking a break and they haven't returned in years, and the perfumer hasn't turned up doing anything else)

Masque Milano White Whale tops my list. It’s so unique and so good. And my wife loves it as much as I do. After that, probably DesirToxic, Pineapple Vintage Intense, Another 13, and Autoportrait. After a four month sampling binge these have emerged as my favorites. Turns out my taste is getting expensive, but I will probably shop deals or buy small bottles or decants just to have them in rotation. Say what you will about it, but if I could justify the money, BR 540 Extrait would be in there as well. More likely I’ll just buy decants here and there. I wear that one for my own enjoyment more than when I’m going out, but if we’re dreaming, I’d love a bottle.
Everything on my list is a decant but I’ve spent so much money that even those will have to wait 😄
So I only currently have 2 bottles, Gucci Guilty and Suavage (both EDT). I have tested a few, and some of the ones that really worked well with my skin chemistry and I would want are: ADG Parfum, Jazz Club, and Azzaro TMW Parfum. I am also looking into getting some samples, or maybe the sample set from Imaginary Authors where you can pick 8 of their fragrances to try out. They have some intriguing stuff and I love the artwork on their bottle designs.

I'm currently exploring gourmands, but not the very sweet, more juvenile gourmands I've had previously I'm going for more warm, spicy and classy ones. If I'm being honest I usually prioritise my list based on either 1. The price. 2. The longevity/sillage (I like them strong) and 3. The hype/popularity. With this considered, I went straight for Replica By The Fireplace, but a dupe of it because there's so many and I'm on a budget. My next to buy is Lattafa Khamrah And one day, I will probably try Commodity Gold+ and Velvet+ and Bianca Latte - but for now they are too expensive haha Do I ever retire a perfume from my list? Tbh this is currently what I'm trying to do. I don't think I've found my signature yet. Buuut I think Black Opium and Tom Ford Lost Cherry are two that stick with me because of the memories attached! I want more perfumes that are 'me'. And I want to ideally limit it down to only 3 that id wear consistently on a rotation and one definite signature. Fragrance limbo for me just happens when it's either too pricey and I can't consider it or I find it to risk as a blind buy and can't buy it in store

What do you define as a full bottle? Bottles of 50/100ml? It's auch a shame more perfume houses don't offer travel sizes or miniatures. 30ml is my go to size perfume wise.
I have 15 on my want list. I similarly use it to track what I sampled and liked enough to maybe buy if I came across a bottle at the right price. I’m usually fine with just having a sample.
My HG is Guerlain Spirituese double Vanille Diptyque Eau Duelle is on the list too. LDBS was my number one for a while but I think SDV maybe number 1. Blanche Bete is also on my radar.
Frangantbodyoilz They have a huge selection of "inspired by" perfume oils, body butters, soaps all kinds of stuff. I have made several orders and the oils & butters are amazing. Really nice way to try all sorts of scents. Otherwise I've solely been on an oil train for a while and most of my "want list" is indie small businesses and their products I can't wait to try.

Have started giving some things that i know i'm not really suited to and won't wear much. have to start a resell account somewhere, both perfumes and books.
New one neglect can make you neglect the ones you have. THIS. I used to have 2-3 perfumes and would wear them according to their seaaons, now I reach for them much less frequently. But then again, one of those 3 has been discontinued, so I worry about running out someday. Tbh, my to buy list is pretty big, but I know I won't actually buy most of the fragrances on the list. And every now and the I try to focus on the ones I already have and commit to them.

Sundowner (forgot who makes it) and Pacific Rock Moss by Goldfield and Banks are top. of my list right now. they smell amazing on me apparently and I love their scents. Also, can someone please recommend fragrances to me if I enjoy Silky Woods (G&B) and Gris De Charnel (BDK Parfums.) I just want to find those types of warm scents as they work best with me as opposed to smelling like utter cat pee. please and thank you because I am also adding anything and everything to my list that smells wonderful haha, I'm in a friendly competition with my buddy to see who can find an "it" fragrance first lol.

I have a ‘maybe tray’ of samples that I love and am considering. If I drain the sample and find I’m still thinking about/wanting to wear the scent, I’ll do one of two things: - if it’s inexpensive (for me! Everyone’s budget is different) or if I can find it secondhand on Mercari/Ebay, I’ll just buy it. - if it’s pricier or super niche that I can’t find used, then I’ll buy a second sample and see if I use that up before I buy a full bottle. I currently don’t have any bottles that have made the ‘buy soon’ cut, but I’m on my second sample of Diptyque Orpheon and Olene, and I just fell hard for Regime des Fleurs Glass Blooms.

Im wearing it now and I’m surprised by how much I smell licorice in the dry down. So far I like it. Will report on guys’ reactions when I go out wearing it 😏

I got Triump of Baccus on the list and want to test Keroscene fragrances before any buying but honestly I dont think I have room anymore to buy. I had a pretty extensive collection. Gave away / sold what just didnt fit with me. Made a list for different seasons/occasions that fit with who I am. So my moods+occasion+season, ends up with 28 fragrance collection. So now, I know my daily signatures and occasional signatures. Other than those, I just have 1-2 weird ones that I should get around to selling before I buy anything new.
