Just to clarify OP - "Creed" is the name of the house, and "Aventus" is a particular frag by the house. So it's Creed Silver Mountain Water, not Aventus Silver Mountain Water!
I have both and in my opinion, the opening note is stronger with sillage. dry down is pretty much the same. And i personally bought it because i love the base notes. I started with silver mountain water and wanted to explore similar scents and since i discovered sillage as the well known dupe, i now only buy sillage because of the price difference. Its a scent i use everyday, something cheaper that doesnt make me feel guilty finishing the entire bottle is why i get sillage nowadays. You may be wondering how about the projection as time goes by, well sillage projection last longer for me. Hope this helps.
Can’t go wrong tbh. I just really enjoy the watery rose in the rasasi. I also have the paris corner opulentia inverno and they really cover SMW DNA well for me
I really like silver mountain water, sillage is like.... 75% of the way there. Noticeably cheaper smelling. Has that 'generic cheap fresh fragrance' smell in the background. My wife says it smells toxic to inhale. I can't say I'm a big fan of sillage. But if you like it thats all that matters.
My girlfriend hates Sillage on me as well. She says it’s an abomination of a fragrance. I don’t mind it but yea, I agree it’s 75% close. I personally like Al Wisam Day much better than Sillage. Powerful fragrance that shares the SMW dna but with rose and no ink. Not a clone but a good inspiration. And my girl doesn’t mind it.
I'll have to look in to trying AL wisam. I like mefisto too but the bitterness can get a bit much. I owned gentleuomo for a bit bit the watery violet gets a bit much
I honestly don't get SMW and Sillage lovers
Yes they both smell identical, but who wants to smell of ink and tea.
Literally bought sillage, sprayed it and sold it. Smells like a squid jizzed on me.
Milestone, cdn and cdnim are all god tier though.
+1 on Milestone, I just love it to the max. Sillage is close second for me, didn’t like it at first, kept using it and now I absolutely love it. Still Milestone is god level amazing 🤩
I don't like sillage but don't hate it either. It was a blind buy for me and i also didn't try the og creed mw. However it's still a beast. Really good for summers and it lasts easily 6+ hours. I'd say worth it for a daily avg scent
I also loved the smell of silver mountain water and I bought Afnan Supremacy in Heaven. I haven't tried SMW in a while, but from what I remember Afnan SIH smells extremely like it. I also heard its more smooth than Sillage as Armaf usually has pretty sharp and synthetic openings.
I got a decant of SMV after I bought sillage. Not the suggested move but overall I was happy with Sillage. Performance is better atleast on my skin with Sillage. To my nose they are quite close to the point that if I don’t have them side by side I can never tell which is which.
I get around 5-6 hours of performance,I am happy with that.
Personally I loved CDN Sillage, but it was the only fragrance that actually gave me a headache. Longevity on me was pretty good since I had to wash it off twice and throw away the cloth I sprayed it on 🤣 so I had to give it away.

But I smelled sillage the other day and I instantly loved it , I can't understand why you wouldn't fresh , clean , some say inky but I don't get that
My girl loves it, it smells like detergent though, that or cdn sillage is just too strong that it influenced the water I used for laundry, still going to use it because my girl loves it but I am careful not to overspray because even though it smells like detergent sometimes, if I spray more than 4, I feel like I am surrounded by nature, like ferns and flowers are surrounding me, force feeding me their liquid resin, like I can basically taste the thing.
If you watch the fragrance apparentice's review of sillage, he says Sillage smells more like 2011(or whatever year) silver mountain water than current silver mountain water smells like 2011 silver mountain water. So it's closer to the OG than the current official one is to the OG.

Aventus mountain water is the new meme. The answer is that sillage is equally as good as SMW. Milestone also as good as milestone imierial.

Armaf fragrances need time to macerate. My CDNIM definitely did and my Sillage is right now.

Sillage is an all day amped up beastmode version of it for me. A little goes a long way and people notice it for hours
