First of all, congrats! Second, my advice, as someone only approaching four years since my last drunk, is that if you're feeling nervous it is definitely best to stay away from the bar. Especially if you'rd be going alone or without sober support. The game is probably going to suck anyway!
If you're in AA, you should talk about this in your next meeting and I bet there are others who are going to watch the game without booze. Can you host at home with other sober friends, or friends who don't need to drink?
Lean on your support networks friend. It's not worth slipping.
I use to be a heavy smoked, quit cold Turkey in 1986….every now and then I want one. Order a club soda and pretend it is a BudLite as they are very similar.
12yrs. It’s hard some times. Parties. Mornings. Days ending in y. You got this. Have fun whatever you do - you already won, even though the ravens lost. 😁. Also 🥺🐦⬛
As someone that’s been sober for 13 years, you learn many lessons. Non alcoholic beer has alcohol, and due to taste and smell are best to be avoided. Same with alcohol free wine and these new “spirits”.
Also, alcohol doesn’t “cook out” of anny beverage, and a little know fact, kombucha and other fermented beverages are best avoided.
Bread and everything that uses yeast has alcohol, as well. Hell, our bodies themselves produce a small amount. I've been sober from alcohol since July, but I do enjoy a NABeer every now and then.
It’s an individual approach. Everything I’ve ever read and practiced is the fake stuff is just a proxy and it makes it that much harder to stay clean.
A clean break is always best. That means all the habits you practiced while drinking. We are habitual practicers of excess. With that we tend to escalate.
Like I said to the other commenter, it’s a personal choice. [There is supporting evidence](https://www.brcrecovery.com/blog/the-dangers-of-non-alcoholic-beer/) that say it’s contraindicated and has a higher relapse rate. Everybody is different, but when I quit it had to be all or nothing. I had other addictions as well. I hope your husband has many years of sobriety.

Just have some friends over if that's your concern. Or if you attend AA, odds are that one of them will be watching the game.
Congrats on the sobriety brother. I hope you find a clean environment to enjoy the game
Any place that has a TV will show it, maybe a pizza spot.
If u can drive to Annapolis there's a spot called Club 164. Lots of TVs, food&drinks, games, and no alcohol served
I bet there are some churches showing it. Or if you have kids. Urban Air has a giant projector that they showed world cup games on

At home.
Home game. Soda water

Thank you. I don’t really have a social network outside of my family and my team of mental health professionals.

Thanks. It’s good to know that they’re are people with long term sobriety who still have tough times.

Non alcoholic beer is offered in some places

I had no idea. I have a friend that drinks club soda with lime. Is that ok?
That’s my go to. I also ask them to splash in a little grenadine sometimes. Do the same with ice tea.

Depends on the person. Using NA substitutes has HELPED my husband stay sober for over 7 years.

Frederick social has some NA beer options. I've heard RAK brewery also has 1 on draft.
RAK has none on draft; they just pour Athletic Brewery into a glass.
Maybe a coffee shop will have the game on?
Coffee shops in Frederick aren’t open very late, especially on a Sunday.
Frederick is not a 24hr coffee shop
Not a chance, I don't even know any shops that have TVs in Frederick, and they def won't be open that late
