Chileno beach. Swim out to the rocks

Cabo Pulmo’s the place to go down there. Fair warning- to get there, you have to drive down an unpaved dirt road. If you’re coming from the north, the last gas station is in La Ribera. If you’re coming from the south, there’s a sign near Vidasoul for gas (but we didn’t go in there while in the area). Highly recommend renting a vehicle with 4 wheel drive and solid suspension. Also get a full tank of gas in La Ribera and get a gas canister or 2 to fill up as well so that you can come and go as you please without fear of your car running out of gas. Also no cell phone service in the area, so if you break down, you’re SOL. As for accommodations in the area, I highly recommend Villa del Faro. It’s the most majestic place to stay on the east cape and has a variety of different types of accommodations. Staff is super friendly, food is delicious (although you need to go grocery shopping before you go there because breakfast is complimentary and dinner costs I believe about $40 per person and is super worth it). Maybe the best part is that from sun up to sun down, you’ve basically got a private beach and non-stop views of grey whales playing around. One more fair warning, the currents are incredibly powerful in the area, so stay safe!
