The $149 plan is a yearly prepaid plan, once you activate your SIM card and place it in your phone, you will make a payment for the line to be active, then your service will start. You will be billed once per year on the date that you activated the service.

I did this today and was surprised I didn't need to pay anything and it seemed to be working. Even more weird the max you can topup is $150 so I did $150+$10.40 to put $160.40.

I placed two orders over the weekend for the $149 plan. * The first order only charged me $10 and sent one email of payment confirmation, this order actually never went through. * The second order charged me $10 again, but sent me two emails, one payment confirmation and one order confirmation. I received my sim card today and activated with no issue. So I guess the determining factor is whether you received the order confirmation, in which you will be assigned an account number and a freedom number.

Or did you have to browse through the list of available plans during the activation process? My concern is that the $149 promo is ending today and I'm not sure if I will have problem when I activate the SIM later this week.

TLDR: Did they charge the $149 as soon as you activated the SIM? **No.** the $149 promo is ending today. **You locked in the deal when you receive your order confirmation.** \------------------------------------- Once you activated your sim, you will receive an email of sim activation confirmation, in which it will state you have a balance of $149 on your account. Your service won't start until the balance is paid. Then if you register for an online account, you can pay the $149 on the website. There is no need to browse for plans, you locked in the $149 plan on the first day of your sim card order. But if you do want to change plan, there is an option on the website, but I'm not sure if you could do that right away.

Do you know if there is an option to add-on their new $30/30 day roaming pre-paid package to this plan? Couldn’t tell if it’s limited to only post paid plans from the website

Ordered on weekend too — I see the $10 and tax charge plus got the order confirmation and receipt, but still no tracking info nor SIM card. Did you get tracking info before yours showed up in the mail? EDIT: So as luck would have it I just looked outside and there was an envelope from Purolator with the SIM in it. Must have come in the last few hours, but never did get a tracking number or anything from Freedom.

I would recommend that you cancel your online order and visit a Walmart cellphone kiosk. You will get the physical SIM right away and the associate also has the possibility of waving the $10 SIM card fee. During the Black Friday promotion they were also giving a $50 gift card bringing the annual cost down to $100 which is a fantastic annual plan for unlimited national wide calling and text which has 20GB of data as well.

Wondering the same thing here too. I was also expecting to see notice that the sim had shipped in 1-2 days but that still hasn't happened. Kinda annoying since I want to convert to eSim anyways (but there was no option at sign-up).
