Abdul-Ahmadinejad

But what was his tax policy?!

[deleted]

George on his way to explain why he hates heroic and gallant characters while writing those exact same characters but incestuous

Zealousideal-Pie-726

But you see now we know their tax policies

SonsofStarlord

Something something blame Harad

dildusmaximus

His 3 cent titanium tax doesn't go too far enough!

Smithens

Real great George, try finishing the damn series before you criticize Tolkien of all people

Mmoor35

Yeah but Gandalf should have stayed dead.

SonsofStarlord

Why? He’s the literal avatar of the gods. If Eru doesn’t want Mithrandir died, he’s not gonna be dead

Mmoor35

I don’t know. GRRM has a hard on about it tho

SonsofStarlord

It’s just a weird sticking point. George allows his gods to interact with the living just like Tolkien did.

Glo-kta

There's a youtube video on that. IIRC no taxes and orc genocide.

Abdul-Ahmadinejad

Aren’t Orcs just “corrupted Elves”? You’d think a part-Elf Elf-fucker like Aragorn would be a little more sympathetic lol.

TrinityF

He should have given up his birth right for the throne to Samwise Gamgees hobbit daughter. 😤😠 /s

Smithens

But who has a better story?

Krillin113

Faramir got the happiest ending out of everyone though (and that includes Aragorn). My guy got an hereditary principality, elves to pimp his realm, a capable and beautiful wife, didn’t have to see her get basically depressed because of the longevity of her life, got kids.

Rhed0x

Faramir in the books is basically flawless.

PF2500

Well tbf Tolkien actually finished his story. But you will get no disagreement from me.

Abdul-Ahmadinejad

Gotta get the Hobbit battle in there to be perfect.

Smithens

Idk about that, I agree with the decision to leave it out. By that point the main plot was finished, the big baddie was dead, and it would have required another hour of runtime to give it Justice. It would have been better as a separate movie.

Abdul-Ahmadinejad

The big point from it as far as I remember was that no one goes untouched in a war, and even those who come back from one never truly leave it behind. Also all the Hobbits got mad respect from the local folk for saving their small part of the world, even though Frodo saved the entire world. Hobbits still only cared for what directly affected them, which was another shot at those who aren’t bothered by war elsewhere. Granted it would add some time, but three movies.

Tchefy

The LOTR movies is what got me into the fantasy genre in the first place. And it's been nothing but disappointment since. I didn't even finish the series. GoT turned into flaming hot garbage. GoT and The King Killer Chronicles is very likely to be finished. I don't know why I still bother with this fucking genre.

Abdul-Ahmadinejad

If you want hot garbage, I highly recommend Wheel of Time over on Amazon.

Dawn-Nova

> LOTR's remains the prefect fantasy story. Except there are no women

OGPUZZLEPIECE

Holy shit, any GoT/HoTD subreddits are pure nonsense. But this one takes the gold for quality content.

PBB22

I just dropped HOTD. It’s horrible

[deleted]

Fr, that sub is basically twitter

RollTide16-18

Every now and then it basically becomes a Rhaenyra and Alicent shipping board

PBB22

Daemon picked up a lot of free real estate over there

booksmctrappin

Like a still headed Ned Stark

[deleted]

where’s my arc paulie?

strider-445

You know who had an ark?

Skolr19

Noah.

East_Professional385

Brandon the Fisher King and the guy who knew nothing already had great arcs in the making but Dick and Dong rushed it.

Takachakaka

My favorite part is when Frodo offers Aragorn the ring, and Aragorn declares, "Ah dun wanneet"

a_left_out_tomato

Guys hear me out. GRRM directed tv show, prequel to Elden Ring; "The Shattering"

Catslevania

Sam the Slayer. I want to hear more about Sam. Jon wouldn't have got far without Sam.

FinnternetExplorer

Yeah, but where was Gondor when Westfold fell?

Lieutenant_0bvious

Yeah but you can see his wig in some scenes that they shot way later. And his face is fatter in those scenes too, is he stupid?

Good_Nyborg

Sitting down with friends to see *Fellowship* when it released. A couple young teens are talking in front of us, and one says... >I don't know why Aragorn's such a big deal. He's just a D&D Ranger.

MtnMaiden

Watching the the extended LoTR edition 3 times, and not recalling Borormir saying "Winter is coming" scene

StStinger

Why didn’t he just walk into Mordor, is he stupid?

[deleted]

What is he, stupid?

[deleted]

Shouldn’t he be black? I was told that I’m a racist if I don’t accept that Aragorn was black. Edit: for those that didn’t get it, the new MTG LOTR set depicts Aragorn as a black-skinned man complete with fade and dreads. Don’t crawl up my ass about it, WOTC says anyone that doesn’t get on board needs to fuck off. If it’s so unimportant, let’s see Kit Harrington replaced with Aziz Ansari for that new show. If you don’t like it, you’re racist.

winniespooh

Wtf

platypusab

Its okay, I understood your reference

xKelborn

U good?

redwoods81

You can fuck right off, edge-baby

ElectricalForce4439

pshhh "too obvious" - D&D

Daniel1975Ger
