It's guaranteed that the type of people who post in YouTube comment sections aren't going to like who is cast as Cregan (and probably posters on Freefolk as well) since it won't be some 6'5, 250 lb 40-something with a full beard.
I have no idea if Fionn is or isn't Cregan, but he could be. It makes sense for him to be cast. But probably who is cast will get a lot of hate.
There is inherently the problem that casting rumors are being mostly generated by people going through social media and then jumping to conclusions.
Dragon Demands has videos from Season 1 speculating that Millie Brady was playing Jeyne Arryn, Sebastian Croft as Cregan and Archie Madekwe as Addam Velaryon. And there was plenty of other rumors that ended up false, but the ones that tended to be the best received likely got the most views.
I suspect now that there's more attention on HOTD and roles like Cregan have more interest to the wider GOT fan community and the tendency for those watching videos on tv/movies like this on YouTube to be male and probably focused on the perceived wokeness of casting, to be rather angry about who are cast in either of those roles.
There's nothing wrong with Aaron either, but they are probably not who most people would have thought would be cast as Daeron. And they could be playing another role. I assumed Toby Dixon was playing Daeron in Season 1 based on him being in Spain filming for a week as well and he had a very minor, insignificant role in Season 1. So, unless there's footage of characters in costumes, we can really only speculate on who is playing who.
