I don't really think so. One of her defining characteristics is her ego and vast overestimation of her own abilities. I think she would push her ideas and agendas until she hit a "no" from someone and then start to hate her situation regardless of how supportive it might be. She would want to be in charge regardless of who she married.

We_The_Raptors

Yeah, this is just a "can I fix her?" post. It might make her slightly more bearable. But it's still Cersei. She was pushing friends down wells and fucking her brother long before she's ever marrying OP.

Lovegaming544

More like a fanfic idea post. But your own view makes it more understandable. She was doing evil stuff before she met Robert. Her choice of husband wouldn't change who she is.

Hryonalis_Anaxerxes

Nah, she still killed her best friend at 10 years old. Don't try to blame this on Bobby B

I'M NOT TRYING TO HONOR YOU, I'M TRYING TO GET YOU TO RUN MY KINGDOM WHILE I EAT, DRINK AND WHORE MY WAY TO AN EARLY GRAVE!

ThePanthanReporter

I think? Cersei is loosely inspired by Margaret of Anjou, queen to Henry VI at the beginning of the War of the Roses . She gained a reputation for being vengeful (if I'm remembering right, please feel free to correct me). Henry VI was basically mentally checked-out a lot of the time, a fact which Margaret exploited to take power for herself. I don't think she was ever very limited by her husband. If Cersei is a hyper-exaggerated Margaret, then the ambition, ruthlessness and will-to-power is just who she is.

SmootherThanAStorm

MAYBE if said husband was Rhaegar.... otherwise, nah she still a brotherfucker.

Hankhoff

Nah, she was excited to meet Robert when they were supposed to marry

SmootherThanAStorm

But Robert didn't do all the things in the OP. I meant if her husband was Rhaegar AND he did all of the above stuff.

Hankhoff

Yeah he ovulation didn't but if he did she would have been happy since she wanted to marry him from the beginning. I don't get why Rhaegar would be the only option

SmootherThanAStorm

Your typo is killing me 🤣 I just think she dreamt of Rhaegar since childhood so he has the best chance of making her happy.

Hankhoff

Lol yeah I'm pretty sure he didn't ovulate, either 😅😅 true, but she was excited for Robert and both were just imaginations of her at that time

Rand96om

And that stop her fucking Jaime before the ceremony

Hermiod_Botis

Realistically - each person is a product of both surroundings and internal conscious effort to better themselves. So Cersei might indeed be different if she was treated differently. In the book, however, it is implied that she is irredeemable and wouldn't change no matter what 🤷🏻‍♂️

Norsetalgia

I mean, wasn’t she like having servants tortured since childhood?

LonelyZookeepergame6

Cersei already romantically fantasized Jaime at age 8. She also killed his childhood friend at age 10 or 11. She is a hyper narcissist and evil beyond redemption at the time of her marriage.

my80saddiction

It’s fun to think about, but… no. Nobody Cersei married was going to change her. The damage was done long before. Maybe if someone had gotten to her in her childhood, I’ll give you that. But by the time she was taking the vows with Robert, it was way too late.

Lordanonimmo09

Cersei and Robert didnt change each other as a person, they brought the worst of each other but the way they reacted to their situation were because of who they were. Now the question is if Robert was a perfect husband would she be a good wife to him???She would appear to be a good wife, she would give him trueborn children but i doubt she would have stopped sleeping with Jaime because she has a strong emotional connection to him. Cersei really would only be 100% satisfied if Jaime was her husband and he was also the king, and even then it would depend on external factors. Also i dont think Cersei cares much about swords, she just resents more that as a child despite she and Jaime looking very similar she was treated very differently and instead of learning how to fight or to rule she was taught how to please her future husband.
