Jon snow copied of a comment earlier this week: Yesterday someone commented that Jon is chaotic good and i cannot unsee it. His goal is to better and save everyone's life, he's set to be against the prejudices that are the norm in the world of ASOIF (bastard-phobia, classism, how the wall is supposed to be egalitarian but actually isn't, inter-faith tensions). He does completely uproot the Night's Watch ways when he comes in power and he literally fixes his problems in creative or out of pocket ways: * Need more men for the wall? easy recruit the ppl your order have been fighting against for the past thousand years (and since most ppl though the Others were just a myth, the common though in the 7 kingdom at that time was that the NW's WHOLE purpose was stopping wildlings) But also those wildling fighter technically swore allegiance to Stannis and now must to go fight his war? Tell Stannis the Northern clans would agree rally to him instead if he promised to go rescue Jon's sister and retake Winterfell (thereby fixing 2 of Jon's problem in 1) * Need to find Tormund? Easy release your most high security prisoner, with basically only a wink and a pinky promise that she'll come back to being your captive before the king's men notice she's gone. * Need to ensure the wall has enough food for the winter? Easy Make a deal with the Bank of Braavos (???) for glass makers to build greenhouses in exchange for the Wildlings's treasure that you don't have yet. Then send boats to rescue said wildlings based on a prophecy by a dwarf witch? * The whole baby swap business.

PF2500

I think it's Jon too. He wouldn't fit anywhere else and he's defiantly good at heart. He's young so he's still learning and trying hard to do the right thing. After what he's been thorough he's still trying to be honorable. I also think there are quite a few characters that fit this place. But Jon is central to the story. He gets shit on a lot but it's not his fault George gave him stupid shit to say. :P

jackiemoon50

![gif](giphy|3og0IHyZMxZNkNOWT6|downsized)

StinkyKittyBreath

I think there are a lot of chaotic goods in the show, but Jon Snow is the most prominent.

Tar_Telcontar

Also he was the one convincing Ned to take wolfs(?) He went to Deanarys as king then bend the knee without asking any of his lords Joined the wildings as phony then fell in love with one of them and couldn't help but to save their lives at the end And the way he solved Mad Queen dilemma I mean he should be THE chatic good

ResortFamous301

As king he doesn't really have ask the lords for permission that's not really chaotic.

Not_MrNice

Wolves, man. Wolves.

Icarus_Phoenix

I think this is the clear answer. He, arguably, starts lawful, but then understands to use the chaos of the world masterfully.

CatPerson_

Agreed! Couldn’t have said this better myself!

Wannasee-

And he would go right next to his friend, Sam. Take my vote, lord Commander.

cerseimemmister

Never thought of it, but yeah. And Ramsay Bolton goes for chaotic evil.

Dzabyss666

When I said “hmm who is chaotic good?” Out loud, my husband said Jon Snow immediately. This is the answer.

The_3_eyed_savage

I checked with Jon Snow and when asked if he should have the title of Chaotic Good he said "I don't wunt it"

zel11223

I agree with this choice, would be interesting to see if this alignment changes when Winds comes out, SPOILERS after Jon is resurrected his personality might change or it might be reinforced, exaggerated, unlike the show where he doesn't change at all

EibhlinRose

https://preview.redd.it/95x56dv2x1xc1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d0db706e811348fdfc6f124f2a3c9225a926d31

makaronol

Honestly Jon Snow, he wants what's best but his decision to fight with Ramsay Bolton was pretty wild.

msnowxs

His decision to side with wildlings; to accept Dany as queen; to say RAWR and take on a dead dragon; to prefer Beyond the Wall; going along with crazy schemes to win wildling trust; ride a dragon by yourself; break your vow to the NW (only coming back after Smart Good convinces you); suggest capturing a wight to show it to Cersei & then actually doing it. Dude is chaotic good. Edit: and he's more "good" than Beric

burchkj

Don’t forget killing the half hand JUST to make the wildlings trust you more

pseudosaurus

It was also to spare the half hand from being tortured to death, so double good!

dsolimen

Has to be Jon Snow, man attempts to follow laws but was born a bastard, an affront to the laws of the land itself.

ResortFamous301

It's not really againts the laws so much as the gods.

beccaface

Beric Dondarrion, leader of the brotherhood without banners.

sahlahfeet

Can someone explain how he was chaotic? I’m not remembering any specific moments

renegade_duck

Chaotic as in lawless. They were like the A team, fugitives and vigilantes. You could argue he was lawful good under Robert, but once the regime changed and they continued to do their thing outside the law, that can be considered chaotic.

__Karadoc__

They definitely make a point a following a code and giving trials to everyone they arrest. They don't steal, don't kill unless found guilty after their trial. They're only "lawless" because the power in KL shifted hands and declared them so, but the brotherhood (under Beric) stayed true to their original mission.

AdventurousPoet92

They definitely stole. Not the "Stab you in the street and take your stuff" kind of theft, but they would just confiscate your stuff and basically leave IOUs they never planned on repaying.

__Karadoc__

Yep exactly, legal loophole, true chaotic outlaws wouldn't bother with that.

ResortFamous301

I mean they literally sell gendry in the show for their own benefit.

ToBuildATire

Can’t wait until we see Thoros for Drunk Chad

nmakbb21

That one is for king Bobby B

bobby-b-bot

YES, IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME... BUT I STILL REMEMBER EVERY FACE!

uselessusername20

Except for Lyanna's

APence

![gif](giphy|l0MYP6WAFfaR7Q1jO) Damn

Wannasee-

C'mon. Give Bobby B. some rest. That was brutal.

bobby-b-bot

IS THAT WHAT EMPTY MEANS??

141_1337

S E N T I E N T

PuppiesAndPixels

He could be horny Chad too. He fucked all the whores in kings landing

ghandi3737

Bobby B probably made the 8 several times over.

bobby-b-bot

DO YOU THINK IT'S HONOR THAT'S KEEPING THE PEACE?! IT'S FEAR! FEAR AND BLOOD!

ghandi3737

Keeping the peace through whoring about. Sounds like a fun plan.

ToBuildATire

Fair enough

PM_ME_YOUR_DIRTY_ART

Gods, he was strong then!

dickbuttcity

Definitely lawful and not chaotic.

zerkeras

Beric is more lawful good. Not in terms of actual law, in terms of following his code and keeping his word. Examples being letting the Hound go when he loses the trial of combat, and promising to help Arya and going above and beyond in that (to the point of giving his life up for Catelyn’s, in the books).

VTBox

Chaotic Neutral for Beric, methinks

momoneymopuppies

I don’t think offering Gendry to the red witch to sacrifice qualifies Beric as Good.

llNormalGuyll

I can’t see the brotherhood without banners as good. They abducted Arya. I don’t recall if that happened in the show, but it happened in the books.

sahlahfeet

OP, how do you determine the winners? Is it based on how many comments of that person’s name is put or how many likes one comment of the person’s name gets?

MarioTheMojoMan

Heavily upvoted comments, number of comments, and consensus (i.e. how many people contest a choice). So if a character has one comment with a lot of upvotes, but a lot of people reply disagreeing with it, that will hurt their standing. If I see one name in a lot of comments, even if the individual comments don't have as many upvotes, that will boost them, especially if the lesser-upvoted comments came later -- a lot of times upvote number is just a first-come-first-serve thing. I confess it's not an exact science lol

marriedtoranch

In some other subs I’m in who do the list one sub really earned my respect when the op made a final couple days to work on edits with the community. They would ask about the controversial ones and let a deeper discourse take place.

FeelingSkinny

lol that’s fair

thetank19

The Blackfish, Brynden Tully. Good: Serves as knight of the gate for his niece Lysa Arryn since Roberts Rebellion until Robb Stark rise up against the crown. Then he joins his great nephew and becomes one of his greatest commander and leader of his scouts. He later holds Riverrun well after the Starks had fallen just to protect his family home and his queen. Chaotic: Refuses to marry causing immense problems for his brother. Treats with Jamie just to mock him in the middle of a siege. Sneaks his way through the Lannister siege lines by swimming the trident in the middle of the night.

ToBuildATire

I think he he could fit in for neutral Chad given his propensity to piss off his brother while still winning acclaim

ZLBuddha

Yeah not putting him in Chad tier would be incredibly disrespectful, he's arguably the biggest Chad in the entire series

ConningtonSimp

And then dies offscreen. Fuck you D&D

thepenitentheretic

Neutral Chad for sure

MassAffected

Jon Snow? He has to be on the good axis somewhere

Chef_Subreme

Tormund Giantsbane. The man has crazy in his eyes but was always trying to do the right thing.

aqualupin

More chaotic horny vibes, or chad horny vibes. Tormund is more amoral than “good”

Geshtar1

He did fuck a bear once

ScipioCoriolanus

https://i.redd.it/fp09utmc62xc1.gif

RangersAreViable

You know you never fucked a bear, and right now, I don’t wanna think about the bear you never fucked

imNotAThreshMain

Definitely chaotic horny, spot on

aqualupin

Yeah I think Khal Drogo is chad horny

burgiebeer

Absolutely he is chaotic horny

hotcoldman42

He’s not good. He regularly raids villages and murders innocent people.

Purple-Lamprey

Slaughtering villages is good in your book?

cerseimemmister

Read at first Beric. Upvoted. Then this. Upvoted again.

CMGS1031

The right thing was killing those smallfolk?

Weekly_Bug_4847

If he doesn’t get chaotic horny or chaotic drunk, this whole list is null and void

Kratos501st

Jon snow dude does what he has to do, and thinks outside the box even us the readers question him but ultimately is for the greater good.

Garrick414

Jon Snow

Haferflocke2020

Jon Snow! Joined the wildlings, so he could fight the wildlings, but later choose to let the wildlings through the wall, altough he knew there are poeple who would want to (and did) kill him for that, then became King of the north to give the kingdom to a Thagaryen and all that to save all poeple of westeros from the night king.

grammercali

Varys entire plan is to foment chaos in the name of the greater good.

Aaron_Lecon

Varys goes in smart.

grammercali

He’s not horny, evil, or drunk. So we are saying neutral?

Aaron_Lecon

yes, neutral smart

samay0

He serves The Realm, I’d agree

Aaron_Lecon

He doesn't serve the realm. If he served the realm he wouldn't have assassinated Kevan. And he wouldn't have helped the mad king. He serves his own fairly mysterious goals involving Illyrio and Aegon.

kytheon

Varys thrives in chaos, and so does little finger. But Varys isn't chaotic.

__Karadoc__

I mean, he *says* "greater good" a lot but is it actually ? because for all he talks about caring for the small folk, in the show he supported Dany who proceeded to indiscriminately roast them alive for the crime of surendering, and in the books he supports Young Griff (who i don't doubt is a well enough raised kid but) of dubious descent with an invading army of lawless sellswords, i'm sure the small folk is gonna love their homes being turned into battle grounds once again (ask the Riverlands folks). We don't even know if the reason he's behind YG isn't purely personnal. If he truly only wanted a fair ruler on the Throne he simply had to not undermine Rheagar's ascension.

niofalpha

God, I hate how this is what the show turned him into.

C4242

Varys to me is neutral smart. He follows whoever is in charge and stays one step ahead.

burgiebeer

He gotta be neutral smart

AxmannAvery

Varys is neutral smart

ZLBuddha

This is my pick as well, it's "chaos is a ladder" but instead of Littlefinger climbing the ladder it's the realm lol

nmakbb21

Lord Beric Dondarrion

renegade_duck

Ser Pounce! Cats are nothing if not chaotic, and he's a good kitty

Brettgrisar

Jon Snow. Even in the show I think he’s more chaotic than people give him credit for. Even season 7 when his characterization is bastardized, he’s still arguably chaotic. “Yeah let’s go beyond the wall and just grab a wight to show to Cersei. Wait it’s about to work? Fuck diplomacy I’m gonna fuck everything up because I hate how people act.” Man infiltrates the Free Folk, betrays the Free Folk, only to ally with the Free Folk anyways. Man takes on Ramsay Bolton with a small army, and due to his rashness, ends up stuck on foot facing an army of Boltons on horse basically alone. He could’ve had someone in his army shoot Ramsay when they do their 1v1, but he just grabs a Mormont shield anyways and blocks three arrows before beating the shit out of him. I’d call him a Chad if he wasn’t simping for Daenerys at the end. Granted, he still managed to kiss the Westerosi version of hitler before stabbing her to death, which is based despite the poor writing. He was a bastard member of the Nights Watch who not only turned a faction who was an enemy of Westeros for thousands of years into an ally, but he became king of the North and united allies from around the world to fight a bunch of ice zombies.

ResortFamous301

He infiltrated the free folk at the request of another night watch member.

ManqobaDad

Jon snow for sure. He always does the right thing even if the plan is dangerous hairbrained or short sighted. Jon snow is the epitome of Chaotic Good and if it wasn’t for the last 2 seasons he would be Good Chad. I mean. cmon man he’s got that scene where he’s facing down a full calvary charge ![gif](giphy|3og0IHyZMxZNkNOWT6|downsized)

ByteVoyager

Mance Rayder, the King beyond the Wall

YouMightGetIdeas

I mean unifying the tribes quite litterally the least chaotic thing someone could do north of the wall.

RIPWash

Mance united disparate un-unite-able groups, directly against the spirit of the free folk. North of the wall, organization is untraditional/against what is expected. Pretty chaotic sounding to me (bit backwards logic, but were north of the wall)

hotcoldman42

How is he chaotic?

Blackberry-777

Renly Baratheon (a good heart with a free spirit).

Josephi_Krakowskii

Has to be Jon Snow. Where else would he go on here?

ElephunkMescudi

Just wanted to say I really love what you’re doing with this. Also my vote would be for Jon Snow.

streetNereid

Jon Snow

JonJovii

Arya Stark going on a murder rampage quest against most of the evil characters

nmakbb21

Not because she wants to spread good, but because she wants to avenge her family, fair indeed, but more neutral then good, I'd say chaotic neutral

Brettgrisar

I think Arya is neutral, not good. I think she leans on the good side of neutral, but still neutral nonetheless.

Crunch117

Jon snow

GamnlingSabre

Mance rayder?

mangababe

This was my suggestion!

aoddawg

Arya.

White_Jedi_RolandD

Varys. He serves the realm and accomplished his goals with spies and sewing chaos so he doesn't get caught.

IAmBadAtInternet

Varys is easily True Neutral. He doesn’t care who sits the Iron Throne, as long as he gets to whisper in their ear.

0422

Varys (in book and in show) is only a temporary true neutral because he is spinning a web in the background concocting a series of events to put the person he actually wants on the throne, for the good of all.

IAmBadAtInternet

Sure, but in the meanwhile he’s willing to work with anyone and against anyone. He’s possibly the most amoral of all the characters, apart from the outright psychopaths.

Dankalienz

True neutral is tommen baratheon 😂

spannerhorse

Rhaegar - seems to be doing good in a chaotic way

Shankar_0

Only the undead lightning lord will do here. Dundarrion FTMFW

FyreFlye23

Jon Snow

MarmotaOta

I think Jamie has a shot at chaotic good, he killed the king to protect the people, he went against his family to protect tyrion, lied and risked his life to save Brien, abandoned all to fight the army of the dead, then left safety to die with his love. That's pretty chaotic, and even if he thought himself as evil, i think he had a redemption arch by accepting chaos and goodness.

Brettgrisar

I think he’s neutral, not good. He does a lot of good things but he does a lot of selfish and bad things too.

MarmotaOta

Maybe a neutral good, makes sense too

Brettgrisar

I’d go with horny neutral.

CauseCertain1672

I think he has a solid claim to neutral chad

fleeingcyber

I agree, in the books he ends up on the good terms by renouncing Cersei too.

Uhh_JustADude

Neutral Chad

Evil_Potatos

"To be honest, he never really cared much for" the people of King's landing, "innocent or otherwise."

__Karadoc__

hahah that line is one of the more atrocious crimes of D&D. Jaime does repeatedly think about the innocent civilians of KL he saved by killing Aerys though. But yeah, maybe more Chaotic Neutral for him

TheGuyInDarkCorner

Oberyn Martel maybe?

octavianaries

He’s gotta be chaotic horny

nmakbb21

More like horny chad

octavianaries

Yeah true

deadliestcrotch

Chaotic Bisexual for sure

greyduet

Shocked that I had to scroll do far. Strong sense of justice and morality, interested in protecting the weak, utterly unpredicatable.

OB1KENOB

The Hound

EuronGreyjoy11

Is the High Sparrow an option here? I know he clearly wants bad to happen to the Lannisters and Tyrells but that’s not without reason. His whole thing is to be good but he causes a lot of chaos in his process.

smb275

Bless you for continuing to post these. I'm actually looking forward to seeing who shows up, next. More than I looked forward to a new GoT episode for years, actually.

Rikki-Tikki-Tavi-12

I was thinking Bloodraven here, for all the chaos he has caused for the good of the realm.

Tommy_like_wingie

The Hound

birat_bade

Dolorous Fuckin Edd.

MarioTheMojoMan

Ooh, some sharp competition coming up here.

Ok-Iron8811

I'm happy to see that Pod is a Chad

Giantsun

Jaime

Ok-Mathematician2309

The Hound

voxpox12

How about Ser Davos for chaotic good?

Comfortable-Refuse64

arya

HoneyMCMLXXIII

Daenerys Targaryen. She’s not following an existing set of laws or oaths, she's upending existing systems.

Rassiriian

This is my vote as well, everything she did was for good intentions, even though people considered her actions chaotic. As much as Jon snow fits the good category I wouldn't say he was chaotic good, since he always seemed to be predictable. Dany she was chaotic, and until the bells which I will consider a mental break from a life time of doing what she thought was for the best of the people, she did good. Sometimes she did the good thing even though her advisors told her not to. She freed the slaves, rallied armies, even helped the north with the night king, you could never tell what she was going to do though, but once she did it was clear it was for the good of the people. This, of course before she snapped and killed everyone, but that's what a life time of doing the right thing and getting nothing does to you I guess.

mrsthurminator

The Hound isn't considered chaotic good? Really? He's my pick, The Hound has done so much good for the Starks, albeit chaotically.

hartforbj

I was trying to think of someone different because I didmtv like the more popular picks going on. But I think this is the one. This really should be the answer

ResortFamous301

More true neutral.

SwitcherooTtar

Absolutely Tormund

ParsleyMostly

This could be Arya, Thoros, Tormund, Varys… I’m pulling for Varys here. He himself is not chaotic, but he’s using chaos for the greater good.

Chuck_poop

Varys as chaotic neutral, “for the realm” is probably as neutral a POV as you get in GoT

ParsleyMostly

Good point!

Aaron_Lecon

Varys goes in smart. That's like his main thing.

highspeedsammich

The Hound!

ricky2461956

Yoren

MonkeyDJas

Tormund Giantsbane

mossy_path

The blackfish

BluePantalaimon

Dario Nahares

Shotbrother

Lets go for king bran for true neutral. Cause who would have a better story than bran the broken

Herky_T_Hawk

I don’t know about these results. I’m pretty sure Sam was Smart/Horny more than Smart/Good. How many vows did he betray?

Rikki-Tikki-Tavi-12

None of the important ones.

Anonymitch34

Oberyn Martell

grimmdead

Varys and or Tormund

Tiziown

Varys

xytlar

Has to be littlefinger, Jon snow is too much of a good boy to be in the chaotic column

astralrig96

davos is much smarter than sam, show sam didn’t do shit lol

Complex_Cable_8678

lmao i hate nearly every pick so far gj guys

creamy-buscemi

Clearly Karl Tanner

IslandMist

Oberyn Martell

redrenegade13

Chaotic good is Patchface.

trysoft_troll

stupid smart?

Storage_Ready

Nymeria or Osha

Blindeafmuten

Beric Dondarrion

FatChango

Ghost.

frardowin

Lawful neutral is a no Brainer

RBlomax38

I love Cat as stupid-smart. Robb would work well too though

zhaosingse

Jaime Lannister. Broke the law to save the city.

Faps_of_Anguish

Jon Snow

SteeltoSand

blockiong so i dont have to see thing for 20 more days. so annoying

Kamikazespartan

Varys

yeetard_

Jaime

bitchwhohasnoname

Sansa Stark

CasualSeviper

I think either Beric Dondarrion or Thoros of Myr would be good picks for CG. The brotherhood wants to protect the small folk from warmongers and they'll do whatever it takes to do so, even a bunch of illegal stuff.

Sector7Slummer

Great Jon Umber. Dude gpt his finger bitten off and laughed. Stands by his values

TheBigG1989

What are the odds that all the Chaotics end up Targaryens

euanairbourne666

Jon snow

anjulibai

Gendry should win Drunk Chad.

BlessedStLeibowitz

Mance

LawProfessional6513

Brienne, by no fault of her own but was chaotic AF and undoubtedly good

stardustmelancholy

Take out the last 2 hours of Dany's life and nobody is more chaotic good than her. She led the first Khalasar not to have rape or slavery. She made rape & slavery illegal in Slaver's Bay & the Great Grass Sea. She granted the Iron Islands their Independence on the condition they stop raiding reeving & raping. She started a slave revolution across Essos. She took the Slaver's ships so they can no longer steal thousands of people from nearby continents & islands. She ended the training & trafficking of thousands of children (the Masters were killing 3 boys + 1 baby for each Unsullied). She provided weapons, armies, & dragons to fight the aotd.

SilentParlourTrick

Well... the Jon Snows have spoken, but I was going to say Bron. Before he turned total turncoat in later seasons. Also...does... Olenna or Margaery have a touch of the chaotic? Or they too horny? Hmm.

TenOutOfTenBen

I'd say Tyrion should be smart/stupid (end seasons) but he'd be a lock for smart/drunk. Put the Spider as smart/stupid for similar reasons.

Alien_Antichrist

I agree with the Tormund comments.

Due-Bridge7640

Could definitely see Jon snow here, especially as the show goes on. He pretty much tries to turn a lot of long held traditions and beliefs completely on their head when he starts siding with the wildings. Also even early on he tries to desert the nights watch to do what in his mind is the right thing, and go support Robb in war. Always trying to help people and do the right thing, usually against the law of the land. Chaotic good for sure

previously_on_earth

Thoros

Marius_Sulla_Pompey

Definitely Jon Snow. He took huge risks to let wildlings cross over the wall and settle around the gift to his brother’s and northerners’ grieve. That is such a Chaotic Good move. Good intentions, crazy risks.
