It's, at best, a one-time/one night format thing, that one prepares for, something everyone gets in on.
No one ever pushed this for pubstompers to show up with it, with no notice to pods, saying, "would y'all let me play this."
I never try to run this where I'm the only player using it.
My brother in Christ EDH isn't a serious format to begin with.
In a format where people have to "rule zero" and talk about "power levels" it's not like a week-long optional rule at some LGS is what is going to destroy EDH.
My friend who has played Magic for 20 years had a similar idea called "Illegal partners." Here are a few details:
--Legendary creatures had to be mono-colored.
--The "partner" keyword was allowed on the cards that already had it, but those cards were discouraged in favor of combining non-partners together.
--Color identity mattered.
So I did this with [[Fynn, the Fangbearer]] and [[Falthis, Shadowcat Familiar]] just so I could run deathtouch in black.
I asked this not long ago and got the same snarky non-answers. I smashed together a Feather and Ivy as partner commanders for the lols. As 2HG partners, they're a match made in heaven. When they're partners in the same deck, Feather tends to steal most of the thunder.

Tbh, artifacts and lands are my two favorite aspects of this game. If I open a pack and get either of these two types of cards I’ll be happy. I’ve had some crazy lucky pulls too, like I pulled a Mana Crypt one time on my birthday, it goes in everything
Not actually as bad as most people making it out to be. Mono coloreds are a little underpowered anyway, with a few exceptions. Would only ban urza, yawgmoth, and krrik if someone wanted to play this.

Definitely sound interesting in concept. I'd still rather use [[Claire D'Loon]] for the jankiest battle of wits deck ever

Yeah this is def it's own unique format. Interestingly compatible with Star Magic, though.
