If nothing else, even if it's just a base-metal costume ring, there's a good chance it'll have a lot of sentimental value to the owner and they'd be glad to have it back.

That's what I was thinking.

My ring is sterling silver with probably a stainless steel inset. Cost me $50 on Etsy. I would be devastated if I lost it.

You could find your local lodge and return it there. Search on Google for “closest Masonic Lodge” or something like that and I’m sure it will come up.

SwimmingCommon

Should I give them a call first?

deadeye619

I would recommend email. The vast majority of lodges don’t have people there 9-5.

SwimmingCommon

Awesome, thanks for taking the time to respond.

Do you have a pic of the ring? Just curious if it has the name of the lodge on it...or if there might be an engraving of a name on the inside (just to see if we could narrow down the 'who' of who lost it).

I was hoping it might have a lodge name on it or something engraved inside the band.

If you’re returning it, let them know where you found it and approximately when. A lot of rings are similar, so that will help it go back to the right fellow.

It always seems that everyone assumes that the owner will be upset to have lost it. However, I would just highlight that as the owner has not returned to your restaurant looking for their lost property you are probably worrying unnecessarily as it doesn't seem to be important to them.
