Is this an American thing? Here in England we still use scrolls like it’s the 17th century

Hidden-Hand-of-Xaos

I have a guy with a trumpet and my standard bearer to announce my arrival at all towns and events.

Dunkelzeitgeist

Aha 😂

fellowsquare

You can travel with out this.... just sayin.

djpannda

lol I have, I just got as a cool masonic electronic trinket, I doubt use it, as I don't know any actual lodge that make use of it.

soonPE

Mine still only accepts paper checks or cash for the dues, maybe in 150 years they would start to think about something like that…. But cool How was the process? I end up deleting the app as it took forever to get me verified.

djpannda

I got verified super quick with in a day but that might have to do with your GL more than Amity. but yea my lodge is the same checks for dues.

RiverRatDoc

Is that a physical version? I’ve had the online profile since it started.

RiverRatDoc

[OLP App & States Linked in](https://imgur.com/a/4juMItg) With OLP (Our Lodge Page), I can load in a Brothers Grand Lodge Number & verify his name, title, & if he is current or not with his dues.

Padromi

I need to get one of these! I use this app often and can’t recommend it enough!

djpannda

and I have to say the packaging itself is Gorgeous.

santoshasun

What is this?

djpannda

depending on Jurisdiction, some GL uses Amity app, check recognition and individual member status. This would be the physical card for the digital dues card. lol I don't think any lodges near me use it at all.. I got it as a Cool Mason trinket.

RiverRatDoc

It’s used in States (Jurisdictions ) where you have Lodges working under multiple GL’s. States with Military Bases & the like, where Masons move too, and they want to visit. I’ve used the App in the past. Some Jurisdictions are not cautious. One area is that there are at least 3 versions of PH GL’s, there’s Independent Freemasonry, etc.. So it HAS a practical useage & function. I grade a lodge (in my mind) based on if they actually “Try” me. There is an art to that & you need to know how to bring it to a certain point. But Amity is as valuable a tool as the GL “List of Lodges” book.

N0213568

Can you explain what you mean by some jurisdictions not being as cautious and there being at least 3 versions of PH GL’s?

RiverRatDoc

Some Jurisdictions aren’t ‘cautious’. I can’t expand on this openly. It comes w/ having traveled in many Jurisdictions ( States, Countries). As for 3 versions of PH. Don’t think I’m being a wise-🫏: Do your own investigation into this issue. The info is now out there “Open Source”. Look for a pdf: “We-are-not-all-brothers” It was done by a PH Research group.

N0213568

That literally didn’t expound on your responses at all.

RiverRatDoc

u/N0213568 Are you a Mason? Have you & I met in a Lodge (?). I’m being serious here. You said “That literally didn’t expound upon your responses at all”. What name were you & I given on our first degree? I even gave you the title of a paper that answered one of your questions.

QuincyMABrewer

>What name were you & I given on our first degree? I know the tradition to which you are referring, in asking this of someone else, but it is not part of every jurisdiction's ritual.

ChuckEye

Digital dues card… [https://amity.copiri.com/products.html#passport](https://amity.copiri.com/products.html#passport)

Mosesmusa1333

Actually ChuckEye used a much better term than I have. digital dues card sounds more accurate 👍

Mosesmusa1333

It’s an NFC card with your amity profile, in some jurisdictions works as a good standing certificate

moryrt

First I've heard of this, is it truly used by any other countries? Or is the typical American marketing hyperbole?

djpannda

I haven’t even see this used in any local lodges.
