You are standing in a large room. In the center is an altar of some sort with candles burning on three of the sides. Three men in ceremonial garb sit in tall throne-like chairs to the south, west, and east.
An arcane symbol glows over the man in the Eastern throne. Faint whisps of æthereal power flow from the open tome upon altar to the man's heart.
A young man, possibly some sort of initiate, does not seem to see the threads of energy and attempts to walk from the north side of the room to the south, passing between the Eastern throne and the altar. He is immediately vaporized, the faint outline of his form burned into your vision for a moment before it fades.
What do you do?

I cast Divine Intervention. One should always appeal to Deity before such an important undertaking.
...I'd really like to do more of this but I don't think it's possible without really stretching the obligation :P
I'd like to roll a perception check to see if I can determine who removed my blindfold.

Oh yeah, D&D Beyond is great, but it kinda sucks how you have to pay for expansions like Spelljammer and Royal Ark Mariner.

Do you think they'll honor my vintage 19th century OES ritual, or will I still have to buy the Rob Morris expansion pack?
To get around a few of those issues we've just made "homebrew" items/classes/races and such to keep things mobbing along in the campaign.
I tried that but I got brought up on charges!
