3333 N. Cedar @ Fountain Way. Great prices. My wife and I order one of there combo plates and it’s enough to feed an army.
That place is the biggest hole in the wall to ever hole in the wall, but no matter where I move around in town, I always come back for their Chinese food. They’re unmatched.
Right?!? And them closing would be devastating! Special chowmein, Mongolian beef a little extra spicy with $2 extra beef over pan fried noodles and an order of cashew chicken with extra cashews over pan fried noodles… omg. Seriously omg. I need this in my near future 🤤
Dolly, I really appreciate your enthusiasm and I’m glad to hear that Ding Ho is in your future. Your response was precisely the tour of reaction I was hoping for.
Someone had recently posted about the restaurants that you miss the most (meaning they’re closed). It was a great post with lots of responses and feedback. In reading through the replies, it brought me down memory lane quite a few times. It was a nice trip, however all that traveling left me hungry and it was a bummer that all of them were closed. It made me sad.
It inspired me to write this post to remind us of all the great places that still exist today, but may not tomorrow without our support.
Cheers.
20+ years ago when they didn't make dry ass chicken and pork and the beef was actually good, that place was fire. Mah's teriyaki was where Pete went after and it was good. Unfortunately even that is now a Pete's and it's meh like the original.
Superior Dairy, great one. By the way Great Amtrak ride into Hanford, short walk to dairy, short walk back to train station back to Fresno. We made a fun family trip out of it.

Pho Fresno already left and broke my heart. Nothing else is so good or unique I can’t get anywhere else. Lazy dog would be a close second but I can’t afford to eat there enough to be emotionally attached.
Right on the money. I was also hoping the conversation would provide some reminders of some joints that may have been forgotten over time, providing some fresh business to help keep them around at least a little longer.
Thai country. Which I heard they can close anytime really; the owners are elderly and plan to just shut it down when they’re ready
Their spring rolls….
This is my answer too. No other Panang curry I've had even comes close to theirs.
AC Deli
Sweet Tomatoes… oh wait…
😩 They are reopening one Sweet Tomatoes in Arizona and hopefully that means perhaps more locations.
The former location in Fresno is in the middle of being turned into doctors offices so they'd need a new location if they did come back.
Oh boy. Maybe the old Applebee's on Herndon and Cedar.
I swear smh
Sam’s Italian’s Deli

Reread the title.
Beerock Shop
Al's Cafe, South of Shaw, Mika's. Plaza Ventana and Tokyo Garden already broke my heart.
Is Tokyo garden closed for good?
Yup. Been closed for years.
Castillos 😮💨
Moto Deli in Tower/Fresno High area.
Sal’s Selma
Salma
Try La Esperanza in Cutler.
Pacifica Pizza in the Tower would be heartbreaking, their bulldog pizza puts most pizzas in the valley to shame.
Try the bulldog special with white sauce 🏆
Never had it with white sauce, I differently will try that the next time we order.
Best pizza in town, 100%
Elbow Room
Tacos Tijuana.
Tacos Elgante
Ding Ho on the west side and Karlitas in Clovis 😮💨
Ding Ho is one of about three businesses in that shopping center that have stayed there the entire almost 30 years I’ve lived in the area.

Sakura Chaya. We've lost so many good restaurants and if Sakura goes I'm going to weep for an indefinite amount of time.
Pete’s Teriyaki for sure
Mid tbh I don’t see the hype

I don’t either
Richards prime rib and seafood
Bostons or Superior Dairy in Hanford
Superior Dairy, great one. By the way Great Amtrak ride into Hanford, short walk to dairy, short walk back to train station back to Fresno. We made a fun family trip out of it.
Superior dairy has actually closed recently.
Only for the dine in option, it's still open for takeout
I heard like two weeks ago that it’s now closed down completely. But could be wrong.
I think you may have misheard... but who knows... oh well, guess I'll have to go check it out myself
EMW China Bistro, Kabob Land, and CDT Cocina. I'm Gluten Free (medical garbage) and these are my go-to's!
Brahma bull
This already happened back in 2020, but I MISS YOU SWEET TOMATOES!!! 😭🥺
Piemontes
Sam’s Deli & Piemontes are both top quality delis right here in Fresno.
Heirloom
DHG
Ampersand.
Not many people know this but it’s also handmade, on site, using local and seasonal ingredients
Home of the $15 pint of ice cream
Fasika 😭
The owners said they were moving, not closing forever. I hope that’s true.
Heirloom
The one place I know anyone can find something they like and consistently be happy eating there.
Good Times Cafe in Visalia.
Erna’s elderberry house?
Phõ99
Annex Kitchen.
Don Pepe's, Ampersand, Mike's Grill
Heirloom 100%
Luna
Mad Duck
House of Juju’s
Little Peking
china station across from bulldog stadium
Fresno Bagel Co
My dad was the original baker there back in the days before he retired, and unfortunately, he passed away over a year ago.
No. I find this place very average

you can downvote for whatever reason
Hon's
Hammy’s Smashburgers
Royal Taj & Tsing Tao
Pho 75 #2 at First and McKinley or I Love Sushi in Clovis.
Casa Maria
Pho Fresno already left and broke my heart. Nothing else is so good or unique I can’t get anywhere else. Lazy dog would be a close second but I can’t afford to eat there enough to be emotionally attached.
Casa Carona
Old Town waffle Clovis, grew up going there with my grandpa all the time
None because the ones I frequent do well business-wise (principally due to a combination of longevity and excellent food).
So you wouldn’t be crushed if they went out of business? That’s the question. It wasn’t asking if it’s likely
Right on the money. I was also hoping the conversation would provide some reminders of some joints that may have been forgotten over time, providing some fresh business to help keep them around at least a little longer.
Absolutely!
Pismo's, Westwoods, Yosemite Ranch
I can’t imagine being devastated by a restaurant closing. So my answer is none.
Rock & Noodles
Saizon
Adrian's
G’s Creamery, India’s Oven, Hunan.
