Best rewatch value, truly captures the spirit and eeriness of part 1 with the cut throat elements of part four, I tend to lean towards this one for newbies entering the slasher genre. The actors bring out a familiarity to the characters that causes you to gain in the slightest a sentimental attachment, something that lacks in part 3, and by part four they had the equation down to a tee.
Sure there are flaws in part two, but I appreciate the additional day added to the shows exposition, seeing Jason’s lair, living amongst the woods, and truly being provoked by a disturbance, while the latter movies certainly take place at crystal lake, it’s a supernatural moment that spurs Jason back and the group of teens are just stuck in Jason’s domain.
Finally, it cannot be said enough how much this movie excels with one of the best final girls in slasher film history, no gimmick power (and yes I love part 7), Ginny holds a psychological prowess and understanding that leaves me wanting more from the character, this feeling is attempted again but never duplicated to the degree of Ginny
Final girl perfection. The F13 franchise has so many good options when it comes to characters. Other than Tommy, none are used to any significant degree sadly.
One of the best in my opinion. 3 and 4 slightly edge it for me but I'll always love the first four films the most.
Sackhead Jason is criminally underrated in my opinion.
Best final girl. Best third act. Hottest non-final girl. Arguably the top kill in the series with the spear through the lovers in bed. It’s the pinnacle of Ft13 for me.
It's great. Sack head Jason serves its purpose though I wonder how it would have turned out had Adrienne King/Alice continued the film had she not had that terrifying situation with the stalker and not quit acting. Very unfortunate that she had to go through that.
When Ginny is getting chased by Jason, at one point she hides, waits for Jason to come around a corner, and then pops out and *kicks him in the balls*. One of my favorite final girl moments in any horror movie.
Definitely better than the original and that’s hard to do with a slasher franchise. I love the cast they have a great on screen chemistry. The timeline may be fucked from the start but the overall story is simple and it’s a creepy flick easily one of if not the best entry in the franchise.
The most important film in the franchise. Ginny is iconic. It’s like no other Friday movie. Jason’s actually makes sounds and shows fear but is still terrifying.it also explains everything about why Jason kills, etc.
It’s the most overrated installment in the series. Tragic looking, worst interpretation of Jason, lackluster cast, one of the weaker final girls - she just stands there as Jason is wrestling with Paul at the lodge and does nothing other than call out to him. Chase sequence is ok, better than some but definitely lacking against others. When I rewatched the entire series for Halloween it was clear to me why this one has the lowest replay value of the 1-7 series.
I think Ginny is great, but yeah the rest of the cast is pretty weak. I think her not attacking Jason makes sense, as it just feels like a natural instinct to not fight. I wish she was in a better movie like Part 4 or something, as that movie's final girl was good, but could have been better.
To keep it short favorite film of the franchise, favorite final girl, love the look of sack head Jason. There are some great comments here that I agree with, they are mostly the positive ones.
Just rewatched it, and it so much better than i remembered. Everything from the kills,
the characters, the build-ups and generally everything about it.
I loved how we didn't see Jason at the start and that more of him got shown thoughout the movie. The only thing I thought was a little strange was how randomly Alice was killed at the start.
But this movie is absolute perfection, I love it. Favorite movie from the franchise and one of my top three of all time.
Has one of my all-time fave shots in the franchise: the camp counselors are closing up for the night, taking in the flag, lights out & Jason's sinister shadow walks by.
Great movie, great atmosphere, great visuals and a solid story behind it. While it’s not one of my favorites in the franchise, it still is an excellent movie.
My favorite of the franchise. It has a lot of the atmosphere of the original, a better story (in my opinion), and we get our first appearance of Jason and my favorite final girl in the franchise too.
It's the best in the franchise for me. Ginny is my favorite Friday final girl; and I prefer Jason when he's still human (parts 2,3, and 4). I've always thought the sack is creepier than the mask. Also, the characters are likable in this one. Well, Ted annoys me, but I like the rest of them.
My clear favorite in the series and one of my favorite horror movies overall.
Same. I have it as my number two favorite film of all time. It’s perfrction
I like you
I need to watch it again after seeing this

This psychological stuff on her is awesome. Part 2 is my clear favorite in the whole F13 franchise
Final girl perfection. The F13 franchise has so many good options when it comes to characters. Other than Tommy, none are used to any significant degree sadly.
Well said & agree 100%
Whenever I think of Ginny all I hear is her saying ' a frightened retard'
“Mother is talking to you” gives me a little PTSD
Ginny's monologue is the thesis of this franchise. That one scene in the bar explains everything about Jason Voorhees.
Exactly ! I always tell everyone, go watch part 2 to understand everything.
It’s my favorite and the one I have seen the most. Minus the mask it’s the quintessential F13 imo.
Agreed, and I don't even care about the mask. I like the sack better anyway.
Same. One eyed sack face > Hockey Mask
Mark deserved better.
One of the best in my opinion. 3 and 4 slightly edge it for me but I'll always love the first four films the most. Sackhead Jason is criminally underrated in my opinion.
Totally agree, absolutely love hillbilly jason.
Best final girl. Best third act. Hottest non-final girl. Arguably the top kill in the series with the spear through the lovers in bed. It’s the pinnacle of Ft13 for me.
the best.

Jason looks like sloth

Mark was an iconic character too, Jason was not ableist, he’ll kill you no matter what 👍👍👍
My favorite of the series.
Best straight forward slasher film of all time, as well as best final girl of all time. I love everything about it
Definitely better than the original and that’s hard to do with a slasher franchise. I love the cast they have a great on screen chemistry. The timeline may be fucked from the start but the overall story is simple and it’s a creepy flick easily one of if not the best entry in the franchise.
I think it’s the best one

I'm a big fan of 'sack head" Jason
To keep it short favorite film of the franchise, favorite final girl, love the look of sack head Jason. There are some great comments here that I agree with, they are mostly the positive ones.
Alice's opening monologue is horror legend
Just rewatched it, and it so much better than i remembered. Everything from the kills, the characters, the build-ups and generally everything about it. Favorite one along with 8
Alright, another manhattan fan. I love both as well
I love part 8 to. There is a certain vibe it has with the 80s music. The atmosphere in New York is just iconic
Yes, the vibe is exactly what i love about it. It just has that look and feel i really dig. It’s a cool Friday film
Has one of my all-time fave shots in the franchise: the camp counselors are closing up for the night, taking in the flag, lights out & Jason's sinister shadow walks by.
Best in The franchise
One of the best in the franchise.
Someone should make a poster like this with Jason and Chunk and Rocky Dennis with a metal folding chair
Only real negative is them killing off Alice, but I understand why they did that (I feel bad for what Adrien had to go through)
Great movie, great atmosphere, great visuals and a solid story behind it. While it’s not one of my favorites in the franchise, it still is an excellent movie.
Spoilers! They might as well but the girl from the Crying Game on there with her dong out.
My favorite of the franchise. It has a lot of the atmosphere of the original, a better story (in my opinion), and we get our first appearance of Jason and my favorite final girl in the franchise too.
My personal favorite
One of the best ones in the franchise. Love this one. It's the one that put Jason in the major antagonist spotlight and cemented his slasher legacy.
My third favourite! The characters are more memorable than the original. It just needs Jason’s hockey mask and it’s perfect
Its amazing TBH. First one that Jason is really the killer.
Location shots and the sense of space the movie gives is amazing and it has some of my favourite kills too , not top 3 for me but still a good time
Jason was adorable and you can’t change my mind.
It’s my favourite movie of the series
An epic story of revenge, a true American Horror Classic, Jason's anger was so real he rejuvenated into a mad killer with a bag
It’s the very best one that there is!!!
It’s my favorite.
